💑 About Hercules Candy
Hercules Candy has been on Steve’s side of the family since 1910(ish). When he took over in the 70’s, he anticipated after 10 years of hard work, he could move the business out of the basement and into a real storefront. Unfortunately, it took until 2018 for that to happen, but hey at least it happened! Steve and Terry own the shop, Craig (the social media manager) is their son, Cara (wrapper and shipper extraordinaire who is poised to take over the shop one day) is their daughter and Leah (who doesn’t love being on camera and is very elusive) is their oldest daughter. Karen has been working for Hercules Candy since the twins (Craig and Cara) were about 6 months old and everybody else is a new recruit. Don’t forget to subscribe and hit the 🔔 for more videos!

Seeing Max again was a time warp. It was soo sad when he left 💔
When?
@@kneect0m 10:27, it’s a flashback, Steve is in different clothes. Don’t know why they flashed??
@@mary-ruthflores4107 I think they did a throwback scene because they were talking about how much space they have in the new place.
Miss Max!!!!
I miss Max too!
I remember the basement candy making when it was just Terry and Steve making candy and Craig filming. That seems forever ago. Was it 2017. Max hadn’t started yet. Fun times. ❤
the good days glad they have a bigger shop but the world was some what better then rights now state of the world
Me too, I remember when Max started. I miss the old house/basement days, but I’m happy to see the progression of Hercules.
I started watching when the business was at the house. A very charming setup and seemed so “old world”. I’m glad of the expansion for Steve and Terry.
Craig why not turn the old candy store into an Airbnb. With an a candy theme, all your utube fans could come stay there, and you could offer a tour of the new candy store. You could advertise on your channel And it could be a fun addition to your channel.
I like that idea.....
I am sad that the little house/past candy shop is going to be sold to a landlord 😭😭😭. Nostalgia kicking in.
I´m watching since the "basement days" and still miss Max.. The best videos were with him :)
Max would hold the most interesting conversation. The best movie references. I genuinely hope he's living his best life.
@@bakedatassupwhy did he leave? What’s he doing?
I've been rewatching all the videos and was just watching Max, Craig and Steve figuring out the first enrober. Boy how things have changed! You all have such an awesome family and staff. Excited to see the work on the house.
Thanks for taking the time to watch the reruns!
I am so glad Julia still there. She is a sweet hard-working person.
Yes, she's a sweetie.
I teach third grade and lunch is in our classroom. I was showing my students how candy canes were made and they are hooked. They love the ASMR a lot of kids now have anxiety and they say it’s calming. My vice principal came in my classroom and it was quiet during lunch! He asked what was going on and I said shush. It’s ASMR we’re making candy.
Your students were "hooked" - pun intended?
I have anxiety and ASMR makes me fantasize about violence. The “calming” thing is a myth.
@@kathrynwitte3398No one thing works for everyone. I hope you’ve found something that does work for you!
I just love Karen 😍.... she is such a sweetheart 💖
KAREN!😂😂😂
Sad to hear Cooper is gone hope he is off to bigger and better things!
Yeh, it happens. Only thing I'm curious about is career paths and options for former candy makers, and if there's any trends. Partly because since the new enrober, I've been looking at all the candy making machines they sell, and thinking.. this could be fun!
I thought Cooper was going to make a career out of candy making he seemed to have a real talent for it 😕 it’s a pity he’s gone, but I hope he’s happy doing something he loves.
Cooper was so fresh and lively. He always had amazing ideas and was never afraid to try something new
A lot of employees have come and gone the past few years ... Kinda weird.
@@xFF7xGIRLx I noticed that too. They wouldn't leave if the money and hours were good enough. They seem to only keep people a few months at a time.
I have been wondering how Max is doing? I really miss the days when you all would be at the shop with some Monty Python on the TV and making Candy!! Please tell Max us OG viewres MISS HIM😢❤
Just know that he is very happy and doing very well!
I'm so glad for him. I still love the videos❤
Thank you for the update about Max @@HerculesCandy
The old shop definitely brings back the memories! Was crucial for the continuation of the family business. Amazing you've kept it alive so well! 🙌
I would love Craig to do an interview with Max...even just a minute or two...we miss him!!
For a small family owned candy maker, you take such care and love in making, decorating and securely packaging the candy being shipped. I've had many orders from Hercules and they all arrive in perfect, well-padded condition. I've in the past (not any more) ordered from Russell Stover and compared to Hercules, Russell Stover not only has an inferior product but lousy packing. Thank you for being the great candy operation, you and your entire team, that you all are.
I use Skippy Peanut Butter in 5 Pound Jars and I also bought Peanut Butter in 3 gallon tubs, from Amazon. As you can see, I love peanut butter and have loved it all my life and I am 85 years old.
Secret To long life????
Skippy or jiff? I go back and forth over the years.
Hercules Candy has the best team! You guys are awesome🤎
I loved your original videos from the basement. Your family is so awesome, and that's what really kept me watching. I love how your videos on CZcams helped your family's business take off from the very first enrobing machine and additional chocolate vats to the new building. Your Dad's dream come true. It's wonderful he can walk around no longer hunched over, too. LOL Wishing you all at Hercule's Candy a prosperous and healthy new year.
No more pipe on the way to the starch room.
Got my email that the fruity hard candy was available on Tuesday, put in my order right away, candy shipped the next day and made it to Chicago this morning!! Keeping my gold star!!
Thank you for supporting us, and for ordering correctly!
Been watching since the basement days. I've learned not to get to attached to the people that work there. Lol but I'm glad to see all of them! I'm laughing so hard at the comments about using a piping bag, Terry HATES those if I recall. Looking forward to updates on the house!
Flashback to Max!! I hope he's well.
Excited to see what you do to the candy house!
Boy, seeing the house sure brings back memories.
Using a pastry bag to fill the hearts with peanut butter works great!
that's what I do.
I’ve been watching since the very beginning and it’s emotional watching people come and go. I think I’m more emotional about it than you guys are!
I just ordered yesterday, and I can't wait to try y'alls candy! 😄 I even tried to convince my husband to let us go visit Niagara Falls for a vacation so we could "stop by" a chocolate place I saw online...👀
I loved everything about this video. My 4 year old was watching with me and said “ oh I know what Mr.Steve is making, he’s going to have someone put peanut butter in it next, Bam see Grandma Karen did it,oh I like her.” Which made me smile she has watched y’all since before she was born. 😂 y’all have a blessed week
Thanks so much for supporting us for so long, and sharing these videos with your kiddo!
Thanks for the response/update on Cooper. Miss him.
Thank you for the update Craig on the house.
Love to you all. It's always great to see everyone 🥰🥰
I miss Malissa! She seemed so nice. 😄 I wish I lived in Syracuse. I would apply there so fast
I wish there was peanut/nut free version of the hearts. Maybe add a cherry cream filling.
Love the old shop. Y'all. You guys do important work. Candy is EVERYTHING. Candy is love, happiness, acknowledgement, a moment, a lifetime, an actual era. ❤
What lol
Thanks for the update . Looking forward to everything coming up
I'm a quilter and happened upon The Last Homely House channel out of the UK. She watches your channel and did a video of her making chocolate covered caramels like Steve. If you haven't seen it, it's worth a watch. "Chocolate covered caramels, Hercules candy style". I think she did it about 6 years ago. I thought it was fun to watch such unexpected content from her channel and she gave a shoutout to you guys!
Oh yes, we're big Kate fans as well!
@@HerculesCandy ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Congratulations with all the success, its more then hard earned and well deserved!
Keep up the good work! So glad to see a 'long' video back on CZcams and hear they are not going away and more will be coming still. Thanks for that explanation Craig! CZcams is my favorite way to watch!
You could get in touch with Boces on Thompson Road and see when their internship program is and if anyone would be interested in interning at your store. Boces insures them for the time they are there(at least that is how it was when my son went there for building construction). It is worth asking. Love your channel! 😊❤
I’ve been MIA from the comments for a long time but it’s good to see you Craig and how the business has come on. Incredible I’m so happy for you all xoxox
Welcome back
Thanks for the update and showing us some cool behind the scenes stuff! Also, if you plan on making another ASMR video on wrapping up the orders, that would be awesome 😊 I like all those sounds of bubble wrap 🙌📦✂️
I love Steve's smile at video's end. Thanks for the interesting and newsie report. Happy New Year 🎉
I remember going on a "field" in Boy Scouts prob 25+ years ago.
I love your family and Karen's sense of humor it's great. Say hi to Max hope he is doing great. If I was only 35 years younger. Lololo🤣🤣🤣 he's such a cutie pie!!! Karen looks great for her age we are prolly born around the same time. Love you guys and your candy. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ thanks for the videos.😍😍
3 years ago?!?! Crazy! I’m so sad to see the house go. But you do you, don’t keep the house for my benefit. 😂😂
Woohoo! Awesome news. I'm looking forward to the remodeling update videos
The best part of watching your videos is when I see y’all are busy! Great to see your successes! Hard working team kicking butt!
I’ve been here since the very beginning!!! I can’t believe how fast time has gone and how far this channel has come… so proud of you Craig and family
Love Hercules Candy! Be careful about saturating CZcams and Facebook. I'd hate for it to work against you. Remember that your product is delicious; your service is outstanding; your weekly videos are enjoyable, informational and interesting. Allow your growth to happen "organically." It's been working and will continue to work.
I'm curious as to why you think "saturation" is going to impact them negatively? What is your expertise on this subject?
Steve doesn’t need an AB roller when he is cutting bark on the table! Such a hard working family! Is Terri still making triplicates? Funny
Craig, I grew up in Colorado & we also did the experiment of building a protective box for an egg but in elementary school. The gym teacher climbed up on the roof of the school & one by one dropped our precious cargo to see whose survived. It must be a rite of passage in the USA in schools. 🤣🤣
Just placed another order from here in Kentucky. Love you guys and especially love your candy, keep up the good work!!
Great that things are finally moving along for you with the old shop. 😁👍
Thanks for all your sharing!
Great job guys. Love seeing Karen ❤️❤️❤️
We love you Karen!❤️❤️
Craig, I really love your haircut. You look really good with short hair. You're the kind of guy that gets better and better looking as you get older. I hope that doesn't sound inappropriate for me to say. I'm actually old enough to be your mother and I'm very happily married. I'm only telling you all that because I think it's a lot nicer to get a compliment when you know there's no ulterior motive.
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I can see the issue with keeping employees. You have to remember they are employees, not family, and have lives of their own. They naturally don't have the same emotional connection to the business that you do. They are not going to be willing to work 6 days a week, 10-12 hours a day. Once you figure that out life gets easier for you. {Personal experience with an employer's son on why I got weekends off and he had to work half-day Saturday (he was the delivery driver during the week). He demanded I work weekends and I walked off on the spot because I made 3x as much working Saturday on my part time job as a house-party hostess as I did for him in a week! After a conversation with the owner, I was back the next Monday and never had to work weekends again. Graduated college and never looked back once he took over the business. .
Not only emotional connection. You also don't earn as much.
Not saying that they don't pay fairly, but the owner still get's the bigger piece of the cake. Also this job is not easy on the body, totally understand when someone can't do it for many years.
It was strange seeing the old shop again, so many lovely memories. The school trips, the pole, the starch cupboard. Reminiscing ain't what it used to be 😢😂
That new enrober is pretty sweet!
Good to see you!
Hope Cooper knows he will be missed. Loved his creative spirit.
I was just thinking about the basement days! Glad to see it again ❤
Just to watch the work and love that goes into this candy I appreciate I can imagine the smell of the taste of hand made wow😊
Steve must walk miles each day ! Pity they didn’t put a big wall refrigerator in the enrober room great they have new heart molds now! So much easier!
nice to see Max again❤
Yeah, I even saw Max on one of the shorts.
Love Cooper, Max, Taylor, Joe and all the past and current folks! I have hopes that at least Uncle Joe will pop in again one day...
As a Brit, this combo being nice does not surprise me. I love to dip potato sticks in nutella. Also a great combo, is pink lady apples sliced with a bit of peanut butter on, it is amazing IMO.
For goodness sake get a fridge in the enrober room to save Steve’s feet, he must walk miles going back and forth.
There are coolers in there, they are lower than the enrobers.
It seems like they’re got to be a more efficient way- right?
It's probably what keeps him in shape! Walking is a good passive workout.
I am so excited to hear about the asmr channel! Sometimes its just nice to fall asleep to these videos without suddenly waking up to a loud noise 😂
Been watching for years. Love you all. Easter big time.
Thanks for the update Craig. I was wondering about Cooper and why I wasn't seeing him anymore. I figured I probably missed it. It is what it is I guess. You get used to seeing someone and then they are just gone. Especially those who were included in the videos a lot. 😊
In Ireland the crisp and chocolate thing is soooo normal we actually do it with cheese and onion tayto crisps and cadburys chocolate! Please try it even in a personal batch for yourselves deliciousness
Congratulations and Go Bills
I loved the "basement days" lol And HINT: it's not that we like talking or not talking. The reason we all followed your channel was we liked your family, and employees that felt like family. The yummy candy was a bonus. I find it's been a bit harder recently because life hasn't given me as much online time as I used to have, and I would turn in to check in w/you & your peeps and see unfamiliar faces. And if you miss the intro, I found I had no clue who they were so didn't care as much (might want to post intro vids for newer faces....just a thought).
I think we all understand people come & go, but it was a solid crew for a really long time. I'll look forward to seeing Max, read the rumor, but need to return a few calls before it gets too late. PS likely just me, but I find ASMR stuff SOOOOO creepy lolol But candy far beats some of the others things I've seen "featured" places lolol PPS 64 degrees has me shivering. I hate the cold (glad I live in New England lolol)
I agree, I was away for awhile, and when I went back, only knew Steve & Daughter Kara.......didn't see Mom around or Karen, just a lot of talking going on.....don't recall Cooper at all, but do remember Max.....but he was a talker too, love to hear them talk, but not all the time.....ask Candy questions.....who cares about the weird tv that some of them watched !!!.Had no idea who they were talking about....but not my cup of Tea..... I need to place another order....they have some pretty colors in the hard candy I'd like to have....
I remember going to the basement store when I was a kid 💕
I’m British and I REALLY want to try the potato chip bark!!! Or as we would call “crisp” bark!
I came accross this page few weeks ago. I don't really eat hard candies until this Christmas I ate my first candy cane. Now I LOVE them.
It's comforting to know that candy (sweets) are being made by Steve and the Candymakers (a good band name!) Brings balance to the Universe for sure! 😁👍❤
Its always a sweet trip to the candy shop ! Has to be a tough decision to sell the family home.
Hey I was featured yay!! ❤❤❤ thanks for the update
omg so nice to see Max again in a flashback!
Cool, congratulations...
That's a major candy protection wrapping job they do!!
Your MOM is very COOL!!! A lot like my Mom was, ode to Great MOM's. So I have been watching y'all a long time so I have to ask if there are any updates on Max? I know he will not be coming back, but he was one of my favorites. Thanks for all the fun and more knowledge than I will ever use in candy making but good to know.
Still love watching you all. I remember when you first introduced the family in the basement.
The family in the basement sounded so dark and crime-y 😂
The videos from the basement were the best. We got alot of Terri in those videos.
Love watching you guess. Looks like you need to move refrigerator closer. Why not try putting peanut butter in like a frosting bag with tip to put in hearts?
You might want to look into using a jerky gun for filling the peanut butter ones. All metal guns are stronger, but with peanut butter at room temperature, it should be much easier than ground meat. I broke the plastic model but am really liking the metal one. They come with flat spouts and round spouts and work like caulking guns. I just think they would do a cleaner job faster, loading them would be fairly quick and easy.
Wish we could see a small course on what it takes to make stuff or train someone u mean, and maybe if you get enough candy makers like five they can focus on three to four things between hard and ribbon candy to keep inventory up
That hairstyle and short beard combo really suits you, Craig!
I know you've tried all kinds of ways but what about squeeze bottles? If u keep them in hot water bath, it would make the pb liquid enough to be squeezable but not too warm that it would melt the chocolate. OR squeeze warm pb into molds that you freeze and coat those in chocolate? Or if u can make them in a slightly smaller size, the puck of pb could just be dropped into the chocolate shell?
Everything looks so good! I used to make a filled peanut butter snack and put the pb in a freezer bag and snip the corner off, so much easier, have you ever tried this?
There should be a hallmark movie about a jaded person moving to Syracuse to work in the candy shop she watches on youtube ❤
I would watch that
Oh my gosh seeing Karen make the peanut butter hearts! I ran over and placed an order so excited they look delicious!
Thank you for addressing Cooper's departure appreciate it . Lives are awesome but not when it's about employees moving on kinda thing . As a viewer I get invested in the crew .
Awww Mr Craig, please walk though the basement for the next channel update...If we can have short of when everyone wacked there heads in the basement, that would be amazing for us old H. 😊timers
They did a video last year, the room is completely empty now.
Cutter is cool!😊
I do like the Shortz esp the less chatty, the visuals are cool 👍
I’m bummed out that you are fixing up the house to sell. I thought you would live there and keep it for nostalgic reasons. Lots of family history in that house.
I've been watching the ASMR videos avidly. Highly recommended
Glad you like them!
I was just thinking about you guys and this video showed up in my feed! It’s so nice and nostalgic to see the old space. Lots of good memories of watching my favorite candy making family. 🥹💖
Wouldn’t it be easier if she put the peanut butter in a piping bag to fill the cups? Love watching them making the candies👍🏼😂
I miss the old days of Terry & Craig cooking shows 😊. Hercules Candy has the best products anywhere.
