I spent the past 6 months, hundreds of hours, and tens of thousands of dollars building out my dream workshop. I built everything from custom furniture to custom fixtures, and it's everything I've dreamed of.
Come work with us at Strange Parts: form.typeform.com/to/Svyf3WVL
A huge thanks to the following folks for helping me build the new workshop:
David (my next door neighbor)
Patrick O’Doherty
My parents

I signed up, but cant find your content there. Edit: Found it! Nebula is its own app, not a part of curiosity’s site. For a one else: check your inbox after buying at curiosity’s site
@@troels1979 Can one view it via a laptop as you mentioned nebula has it's own app. I'm leaning towards it.
where did you get the rug from!
Welcome back and all the best
were not in kkansas anymore toto lol that certainly looks more north than new mexico. glad to see you again and hope the newspace works well for you and that you have recovered because i am more than ready to have access to more quality video content hopefully more regularly . as always thanks for the videos!
Can we just appreciate how basically a minute long segue of building a railing was one of the coolest mini building projects I've ever seen? I would happily watch a 2 hour video of that whole process
I have to agree with that. I am an electronics enthusiast, a hobbyist woodworker, plumbing, electricity, but watching him do that railing really got me excited to finally start that last chapter for me, welding.
He really went all out for this one, editing must have been hell lol
No you would not, you liked it because of the fun quick editing and funny pleasant noises like the rest of us.
If you watched a uncut none edited version of him building it you'd *probably leave after max 15 minutes.
the build montages were TOP notch . But it does feel like there was so much left out. Would love to be able to admire it more and give him proper credit lol. Still love the montage tho
As a person who knows how to weld and do all kinds of things the sounds were really annoying as I know exactly what it should sound like, it was messing with my brain lol. Had to rewatch with sound off
Yes!, Scotty's back!
Can't wait to see what amazing things and projects you make.
I know I speak for everyone when I say we are SO happy and stoked that you're back. =)
Indeed!
Hey dude, speak for yourself, I'm not happy, I'm freaking ecstatic.
So glad to have you back, Scotty! Hope your head keeps getting better and you keep enjoying making videos!
I’m so so happy you’re back man! You were missed! The editing style is awesome, I’d just perhaps dial down the fake sound effects. Perhaps the sound of the real tools or some music would be less jarring. The video was awesome though!
Agreed 1000%. Sound effects were jarring. Tool sounds or music are much better. Great video and even greater to see him back though!
I agree 100%, the editing would still be easier and faster to do.
I'm pretty sure they were supposed to be exaggerated and funny for this video
I almost couldn't make it through with those sound effects.
I actually thought they enhanced the video and fit the tone of the video/editing.
You look great Scotty, happy to see your health has returned! I feel like I could tell you were almost fully recovered just from the tone of the video. Great stuff.
Dude, I literally feel guilty watching those build montages. The time, money, and skill it took you to build, film, and edit that... Then I just watched it over 10 minutes... for free, in bed. So glad you're back!
Seriously shows he's eager to be back making videos
@@mattstone8878 Does he get that much money for very few videos he is doing recently....? I don't mean anything just to be clear. He is the nicest person ever. I'm genuinely curious where the money for all of this (machinery, housing, recent medical issues etc.) come from.
Love the workshop, it's gonna be great. Hoping your head stays feeling better and the videos can continue. I liked the sound effects done but I felt like about halfway through the video the noises got a bit too much. Kinda got tired of hearing someone play in the utensil drawer you know? I think using some of the actual noises from the crafting with some edited noises would fit better.
yeah , felt the same way. I thought it was fine at the beginning but kind of corny, then after it just kept going it got kind of draining.
Same, half way through it was just way too much. I usually love this channel, but this needs to change.
All people in this comment should change.
@@greencontact I'm not trying to be rude. I'm just giving some criticism. It's how you improve
I agree 100 percent!
Welcome back! I can't wait to see where you go from here.
This was unexpected; i was a little skeptical, but DAMN did you ever pull this together. Congrants to everyone on the team, this place is amazing!!! I am hoping for big things to come in the future from this spot!
The fast forward sound cut down and build for everything was amazing 🤣
It's so nice to see your videos again. We've all really missed you. Thanks for all the great content through the years and I look forward to more.
Glad you're well! Exciting
So glad to have you back. This video is so impressive, just one project could have been a solid 15 minute video itself. I'm not a fan of all the sound effects, or at least not that many. Can't wait for more projects and I'm glad you're feeling more like yourself!
That Railing looks awesome af. BUT please add (And USE!) a handrailing to the stairs. Thanks!
BTW: All that editing and sound effects were a tini tiny bit too long for my taste. Still enjoyed them but also a tiny bit annoying after some time to be honest xD. But don't get rid of it!
I feel like I heard Space Cadet 3d Pinball sound effects all up in there. Love it. Place came out great! Good to see you back and hope you are well!
Sound design on this was crazy!
The sound engineering during the rail making 😍
Okey, the whole video is 😍😍
Man, I just had to rave about the editing. It just flows so well and pulls you in while you're watching. No wasted time at all. Also, it's incredibly clear that you've probably forgotten more about using tools than I'll ever know.
Scotty did really make use of that audio effects library, love it.
Great to see him back!
I cant wait for all the videos! Please dial back the sound effects a little if they're sticking around too 🙌
Echoing so many other comments, naturally. So glad to see you are well along the road of healing. Your work has always been in such a unique and interesting niche, can't wait to see more of it.
I got tired just watching the montage of you putting together that elaborate light fitting....... great to see you with so much energy and enthusiasm, you look high on life and I appreciate you sharing the tough times that have led to this point. Really looking forward to what's ahead with your high quality videos, thanks and all the best x
I love the video!! Also it’s like the kid that discovered animations in power point for the first time, but with sound effects. 😂
I thoroughly enjoyed it!
You have been very missed Scotty, incredible space and I’m so glad to hear you’re feeling better.
Nope, he was not...
He was still here!
And we all were watching every video, every update.
We felt the situation and stayed here in line for him.
This will now bring us some rewards (Scotty's creative videos)
Back to game... Happy to see you with good health...❤️
The style of the building montages was really fun! I especially like the inclusion of the PPE "beats" in the sequence, many other CZcams makers seem almost ashamed to use PPE on camera. It's great to have you back!
He had an almost career ending concussion from a falling pipe, no way he is taking another chance with loose pipes over his head!
The worst part of the ppe thing is that when you comment about the lack of PPE on some channels you get all the tough guys coming out saying stuff like, "Well it's actually safer to not wear a seat belt because blah blah". Nah, go pound rocks. Always wear PPE and always show it in videos because it sets an example for everyone else. Normalization is half the battle in getting things adopted.
Scotty! I'm so thrilled to see you back! I just moved to a new house, and you've really inspired me with your projects around your shop. I'm definitely going to borrow some of those ideas for my own spaces.
Love the sounds! Sending positive thoughts for your healing. Glad to see you back.
That railing montage was awesome!! 👏🏻👏🏻
Great to have Scotty back, makes the world seem a little more normal and brighter 😀
The editing is so good man. I can't even imagine how long that took
If there's an academy award for editing this would be it!
That was a great video, I love how you just slapped a bunch of sound effects on the building montage. Even if all the sounds didn't quite work it was still funny. I can't wait to see what else you come up with, looking forward to the next videos!
The little build cuts were awesome. I'm sure that took forever but it made me smile.
Great film, so much sound editing. Office looks fabulous. Love the aesthetics. Killer design and fabrication too. Mahalo for sharing! : )
Been watching you for so long. So happy to always see you grow. 💚💚💚💚
That montage...I don't think people fully appreciate the time and effort that it takes to make a cool 60 second build montage. Holy crap...thanks for that effort.
Yay! So glad to have Scotty back making videos with his head on the mend. Excited to see what he'll do next
I really appreciate the time you took to make the projects, edit the video and add all the sound effects, it must have taken ages and it's awesome, well done.
So glad to hear your head is doing better 💙 Now you've got the health to back up all the motivation.
That looked like so much work, well done. It's crazy how you need desks so you just build them 😄
You're so talented!
I am soooooo glad to see you back in (what seems to be) good health and with a new awesome shop. I am excited to be able to get more of your superb content.
Thank goodness. Welcome back, Scotty! Glad to see you getting better after a long break. Looking forward for your future projects!
So glad you’re back Scotty, happy you’re doing well!
Buddy got his teeth fixed too! lol
The laser sounds on the welding is something I've always heard in my head 🤣. Shop is looking great so far!
Congrats on your recovery! I just had a decent concussion on monday and i'm dealing with the symptoms. Congrats on the new work space as well. I'm excited for all the new opportunities it brings!
Happy to see you back. All the best and wish you good health. Waiting to watch more of your creations
Excited for what's to come. Strange Parts has been my favorite youtube channel for a long time
How much fun did you have sourcing and choosing all the sound fx for this video?
Fantastic editing and production!
the sound effects do everything for this video- So glad you are back!
Glad you're back! Also glad you're feeling much better!
And you have a very nice shop, which I hope to see more of in the future!
This was better than both Avatar and Avatar II. Thanks for creating a piece of cinema that the world can enjoy.
The new editing style is very offputting. I don't mind the quick cut montage of putting things together but those sounds are awful. I see what you were going for but it's too... distracting? Not matching? Offputting in general I'd say.
Though I am very glad to see you're feeling better and getting ready for videos again! Can't wait!
So happy to see you're back! I'm looking forward to all the video's you're going to make from this awesome looking workshop!
Glad to see you back! This was a great video, can’t wait to see more and such a cool setup you’ve made, sounds like you can do pretty much everything you need all in different dedicated areas. The “tools” you have planned sound awesome, you even put so much effort into the workshop build itself. Enjoy, It will be the envy of many myself included 🙌
Nice to see you back!.
But seriously, stop the neighbour kid from hammering on the sound machine..
It was fun the first one or two scenes, but got a bit much fairly quickly.
I’m not a maker, but I am a fellow creator. That video took me on a journey. A masterpiece of storytelling and editing. Well done.
Really glad to see that you are feeling well, I am also looking forward to what you are going to do and create in this place.
In addition, the editing was amazing and so much fun to watch.
This is the very first video i've watched from this channel and I stopped the video halfway through just to comment here....... Dayum!..... this is by far the coolest editing of a build video I have ever seen.
The staircase montage must have taken so long to put together, and honestly? It's excellent, not least because of all the silly sound effects along the way. Brought a smile to my face! Congrats on the new shop, Scotty! :D
E: actually, all the montages are class, but I commented before I'd watched the whole thing 😅
finally. more strange parts videos. just one thing. all the tacky fake sound effects kind just make the video really annoying to listen to when playing in the background. tbh raw silence would be better than how it is now. a fairly good alternative is what ageing wheels does. where is just cuts the actual raw audio along with the video. music is also a alternative. honestly anything is better then a billion different sound effects.
@@frankthefkintank Since when is feedback a bad thing? This person has constructive feedback that may help get future videos more views. Scotty may find the feedback useful, and he may not but that's entirely his choice, not yours.
I disagree
@@frankthefkintank I think you misunderstand. it's not that I don't appreciate him. I do. I find his videos really cool generally. it's that the billion different low quality sound effects added to the video every time there's some kind of super cut (of which there are many in this video) makes the video very hard to listen to. it's very jarring. especially if you're just listening to the video in the Bg. I gave him some in my opinion good alternatives. is constructive critics not allowed or something?
I 100% agree with this. All the sound effects takes away from what's clearly a well thought out video. Not that some effects isn't good it's just you go a little overboard.
I disagree. It's over edited, but not annoying to me
I'm beyond happy to see you back and working on what you love. Cant wait to see what you do in the future.
Oh man, the first 30 seconds of what's to come had me hooked. Dream workshop!
i dont like those sound effects. But your workshop is amazing :)
great video but the sound effects were a bit too much
I'm so happy you're back. Your space looks like a wonderful place to just BE and also to create in. Glad you're happy and well!
Man! Congrats! Gigantic amazing work on the shop! Can't wait for all the future content coming!
What type of metal did he use for the desks? Where do you get it and how much?
I feel like the sound effects are a bit overdone
I just finished moving last month and getting my shop set up. Garage electrical and lights ran, cnc mill, lathe, air compressor running. High vacuum system have power at least. SEM up and running, working on office/lab now. So much work and money.
I'm so relieved that your injury didn't stop you from making CZcams videos. Glad to see you up and making stuff again.
The sound effects were a bit too much, good otherwise.
Dude,I totally want that rug!! That's just the coolest thing ever!! ❤️❤️👏👍
Glad to see you back and healthy! Best wishes for this new chapter in your life! 👍🤓👍
looks like Scotty got himself a new subscription to a audio libary.
meybe relax on the sound effects a little? made it kind of a hasste to watch.
I think the sound effect is little bit too much and anoyying.. Meanwhile, editor put a hell amount of time sound effect those clip. Try cinematic editing a bit
I was absolute amazed by your video cant wait to see more videos. Glad to see you. You’ve got a lovely place.
Omg! after a long time I see your new video. That railing built was so cool and all the cuts and edits are fantastic!! Really happy you are back to the workshop. Happy DIY!
not a big fan of the sound effects. They were a bit much. Especially when they are that loud. Good video otherwise.
The excitement is back and it shows. Even if this was back in March, being able to see the urge to just make shit again is so refreshing. Not even a lingering hint of worry. It's good to see you rebounding like you have.
love all the transitional video effects, these crazy sounds effects and all the other little things you did for this video
Welcome back Scotty! Awesome production/editing/etc of this video. It seems you are taking it to the next level. Looking forward to the chaos!
i had zero idea what i wanted out of Strange Parts channel, and had even less of an idea that it was this. this post is amazing. and is so inspiring on so many levels. show chases bringing togeathers ones talents into final products. in an amazing and fluid way
It's great to see you posting new videos again and love the new digs and the whole custom fixtures. The workshop looks amazing and look forward to future content. Soo happy to hear that the road of recovery is all going well and hope this new location / environment only aids and inspires you going forward, keep up the great work :-D
YES!!! Lets Go Scottie!!!!!!! good to see you healed and back at it
Scotty, I dont follow many channels, but ever since you announced your injury I have always kept you in my thoughts, and prayers. I dont spend much time on CZcams watching videos, but I always made a point to check in and see if you had posted any updates. This is amazing to see you back in your element, and making videos. You are a true inspiration, and I cant wait to see what you have planned! Nice shop!!
This is by far the best montage video I have seen in quite a while. It also proves there is no such thing as too many sound effects.
Well done and enjoy your new place.
Glad you're doing well Scotty. Looking forward to your video's again. The shop looks amazing and the view even more so.
Welcome back, the new shop is looking great! This video was so fun, and those light fixture conduit shelves upstairs look amazing. I'm inspired to build something similar for my shop now!

My dwarven soul has melted 🫠 and I'm only just at the 3/4 of this video.
Love the workshop, love the editing, love the sound effects, just love this guy !
Great inspiration. I'm, not doing what I'd most want in my life and this video is showing me that more.
Thank you!
Thank you Scott for sharing your temple. :) The carpet is awesome and pipe lights, shelves bueno. I'm very happy for your workspace and health.
