I don't think Daemon cried happy tears when he heard the old man died. I think he was still affected by his dream and when the news came he probably deemed it less important than what he saw in his dream. I think that was such a beautiful moment of character development. It's so cathartic.
Yes! I saw that moment as Daemon finally beginning to truly grieve for Vicerys, and ties in to the wider atmosphere of catharsis in the latter half of the episode

If you pay attention during the scene with sheep stealer, you here sheep bleating in the background as they approach that hillside... then you see sheep skeletons... then scorched Earth. So it's fairly obvious (to book readers) that this is introducing Sheepstealer
This episode really fully showed that these dragons do have unique personalities and intelligence,first it was Sunfyre being a bilingual dragon,now it's Seasmoke with the whole "fuck it I'll do it myself" mentality choosing his own rider even in Game of thrones Drogon decided to destroy the iron throne instead of killing Jon for what he did to Danny understanding that the lust she had for the iron throne corrupted her. King Viserys was right when he said them controlling the dragons is nothing but an illusion.
I think people will appreciate those scenes more on rewatch once the season ends. Right now, everyone is just excited to see more dragons. The lore around Harrenhall isn't as "sexy".
My favorite part was seeing the kids playing with their toys with the baby dragons running around on the floor. Nice to see Cheese's dog..sorta reminds me of a Ghost sighting. 🐺
Gonna be interesting to see if Otto replies to Larys calling on him to return to the Red Keep, while he's been refusing to reply to Alicent's letters. Like, Alicent is trapped in a very difficult/dangerous position now (no allies at court) if she can't get Otto to give a shit about her messages.

The way I interpreted Rhaenyra slapping him, was essentially her getting tired of the way he was passive-aggressively hitting her with his, "I told you so, I told you so." Nonsense, and basically making the off-handed implication that she has no idea what she's doing and that she should be letting the men around her run things for her.
I would’ve loved that scene with Mysaria if it ended with them bursting out laughing or something, noting the absurdity of the moment. To me it felt like Rhaenyra is really lonely and missed intimacy. She is a pretty sexual person. It should’ve ended with a moment that cemented a ‘friendship’ and allyship above all.

There is no reason for Aemond and Daemon to particularly care about each other, they only become rivals when the war starts. In Fire and Blood, is never specified how Daemon take controls of the Riverlands, they mostly say that show up with his dragon and everyone bend the knee, so Alys Rivers killing Grover Tully in his name is not a huge problem, Daemon may be a military leader, but he cant simply kill the Lord of the Riverlands without all of them turn against him and Rhaenyra, and this is not the first time that a Lord used magical means to eliminate a rival, like Stannis and Melisandre killing Renly, Stannis as well is a military leader but that doesn't mean that he wont use any advantage that he have to archive his goal.
I am also upset about Nettles because she is supposed to be the wedge between Daemon and Rhaenyra. She also survived the war. Her and sheepstealer disappeared into the wild. Rhaena can't disappear, her dragon hatching gives hope to the people of the Targaryen dynasty surviving. Her marriage to a Hightower produces 6 daughters that go on to spread Targaryen blood throughout several houses. Rhaena is such an important character on her own. It feels cheap to combine her with Nettles, who is an important character as well.
Rumor has it that they didn't want to show a relationship between a teenager and an older man, understable since in the books they are 16 and 49, but they could just make her older or omit the romance and have Rhaenyra just be jealous......which doesn't make sense anymore since she sees Daemon almost as an enemy now.

The Rhaenyra sword scene I feel has to do more with her wanting to be a fighting Queen like Visenya, a queen of action. I think Visenya is a hero type character to Rhaenyra, that's something reflected back in her youth. I don't think it's about gender roles, Visenya was very much a badass woman.

I called it last week. I knew they were gonna completely flip the script. No Nettles, Laena youngest daughter is gonna be a dragon rider, instead of Daemon running off to cheat with Nettles it’s gonna be Rhaenyra doing the cheating with ole girl who will end up betraying her. The show runners didn’t learn for GOT mistake by straying far from the source material

Now we have Nettles excluded. So if the plan is anything goes, we can also have characters survive that died in the book, since it's all "rumors."
I like the individual pieces of the rhaenyra/mysaria part. The true story behind mysaria’s scar, their growing bond and rhaenyra’s reliance on her, rhaenyra being close to giving up and mysaria saying “I trust no one but I trust and believe in you” - those were all great individual pieces. I’m down for their bond to grow into a romantic one but I think juxtaposing an SA story with a kiss is always gonna come off as icky/inappropriate to me. Should’ve just stared deeply into each others’ eyes for now and kissed later imo
I don't understand why you think it takes away from Daemon's military prowess that he has trouble uniting and mustering the Riverlands at first. Like, that has to do with diplomatic skill - which both book and show Daemon are lacking in - not military skill.

Daemon finally had to face Viserys and Mysaria using sweet propoganda to win the heart and minds of Kingslanding had me.
Rhaenyra and Mysaria was my least favorite scene --it was not necessary...but my favorite scene was the revolt of people cheering Queen Rhaenyra at Kings Landing

I actually like that daemon had to have an emotional odyssey to confront some demons, though I don’t believe he will ever defeat them (except perhaps in his final moments…iykyk) And yes he’s always tried to make his own way, but he’s failed at everything. I like that the one time he breaks down and asks for help, he finally accomplishes something tangible. Will he completely turn over a new leaf and learn a lifelong lesson? Almost certainly not, but I think it’s good he’s at least forced to confront his demons and is given a moment of clarity, even if he never truly conquers them.

I would’ve loved that scene with Mysaria if it ended with them bursting out laughing or something, noting the absurdity of the moment. To me it felt like Rhaenyra is really lonely and missed intimacy. She is a pretty sexual person. It should’ve ended with a moment that cemented a ‘friendship’ and allyship above all.

In Fire and Blood, is never specified how Daemon take controls of the Riverlands, they mostly say that show up with his dragon and everyone bend the knee, so Alys Rivers killing Grover Tully in his name is not a huge problem, Daemon may be a military leader, but he cant simply kill the Lord of the Riverlands without all of them turn against him and Rhaenyra, and this is not the first time that a Lord used magical means to eliminate a rival, like Stannis and Melisandre killing Renly, Stannis as well is a military leader but that doesn't mean that he wont use any advantage that he have to archive his goal.

I am also upset about Nettles because she is supposed to be the wedge between Daemon and Rhaenyra. She also survived the war. Her and sheepstealer disappeared into the wild. Rhaena can't disappear, her dragon hatching gives hope to the people of the Targaryen dynasty surviving. Her marriage to a Hightower produces 6 daughters that go on to spread Targaryen blood throughout several houses. Rhaena is such an important character on her own. It feels cheap to combine her with Nettles, who is an important character as well.
Rumor has it that they didn't want to show a relationship between a teenager and an older man, understable since in the books they are 16 and 49, but they could just make her older or omit the romance and have Rhaenyra just be jealous......which doesn't make sense anymore since she sees Daemon almost as an enemy now.

The Rhaenyra sword scene I feel has to do more with her wanting to be a fighting Queen like Visenya, a queen of action. I think Visenya is a hero type character to Rhaenyra, that's something reflected back in her youth. I don't think it's about gender roles, Visenya was very much a badass woman.

Now we have Nettles excluded. So if the plan is anything goes, we can also have characters survive that died in the book, since it's all "rumors."

I like the individual pieces of the rhaenyra/mysaria part. The true story behind mysaria’s scar, their growing bond and rhaenyra’s reliance on her, rhaenyra being close to giving up and mysaria saying “I trust no one but I trust and believe in you” - those were all great individual pieces. I’m down for their bond to grow into a romantic one but I think juxtaposing an SA story with a kiss is always gonna come off as icky/inappropriate to me. Should’ve just stared deeply into each others’ eyes for now and kissed later imo

I actually like that daemon had to have an emotional odyssey to confront some demons, though I don’t believe he will ever defeat them (except perhaps in his final moments…iykyk)
And yes he’s always tried to make his own way, but he’s failed at everything. I like that the one time he breaks down and asks for help, he finally accomplishes something tangible. Will he completely turn over a new leaf and learn a lifelong lesson? Almost certainly not, but I think it’s good he’s at least forced to confront his demons and is given a moment of clarity, even if he never truly conquers them.
