    Glad you tested these. I have 3 of the 4 and by far the XTEAM was my favorite. I was running the 4650kv variant though and only 2s. I had no Cogging at all and it was run in a tekno sct410.3
    I alway recommend the XTEAM as a budget option.

    I'm really enjoying how you present your results,nice,even and consistent information. Making life easier for the viewer,great performance for the scale of trucks and the motors only being 3660 size. Have you got any video/thoughts on ESC choices for the motors?

    • @LawrenceTimme
      @LawrenceTimme  Před 3 lety +2

      I haven't tested many esc's. I mainly use the hobbywing esc. I have a max10, max 10 sct, max6. I have also had a hobbyking X car beast 120a.
      I would try to stick with 80-120a 3-4s rated esc for 3660 sized motors. Normally the bigger and higher rated esc you can get the better.

    • @mehimrc1314
      @mehimrc1314 Před 3 lety +2

      @@LawrenceTimme thanks for that info so biggest esc you can fit into your car would cover any amp discrepancies with motor kv?

    • @LawrenceTimme
      @LawrenceTimme  Před 3 lety +2

      @@mehimrc1314 pretty much. Bigger size = better heat dissipation. Also the quality of the parts plays a part in heat as well, from what I've seen super cheap like gcool rc esc tend to be over rated by manufacturer and not perform well, so I would avoid very cheap ones. Mid range seems to be the best to me. Once you start spending money for Castle or tekin etc your paying for the logging and software and programming rather than the actual function of the esc itself.

    • @mehimrc1314
      @mehimrc1314 Před 3 lety +1

      @@LawrenceTimme I can't thank you enough. If I may pick your brain just one more time. I'm running goolrc esc atm,what mid range brands or in general mid range ESC could you recommend. Hobbywing I'd guess?

    • @LawrenceTimme
      @LawrenceTimme  Před 3 lety +1

      @@mehimrc1314 yes, I guess so, I have had a few hit and miss hobbywing esc's, the xr8 plus sucks and quite a few people have had issues with that and I've had 2 150a hobbywings blow up on me.
      The max10 sct is pretty good, but it can overheat sometimes when I'm really pushing it. Lots of people run the max10 sct with not issue and I had the 80a version before and that was fine as well.

    It would helped most people if you new how to read the specs of motors. Which clearly show which are going to be faster. When you compare the Kv rating at set volts. The closer the Kv is to the voltage your running=the closer your going be to the actual power of the motor (WATTS). run time will drop. Your video only enforced my decision to buy the smaller under dog X-team. It has the highest Watts capability with the highest amp drawl to reach it. It's also the smallest internally. Vented case=smaller can and 5mm shaft=harder to break. Next time keep the Kv ratings as close as possible. And mention the rated Watts of the motors. Almost forgot clogging isn't always the motor. Speed control?? My X-teams are 3660 4650kv at 12 volts drawing 130amps=1700watts $31.56 ebay and a 3674 3270kv at 18v drawing 135amps 2400watts. $38 ebay

    • @LawrenceTimme
      @LawrenceTimme  Před rokem

      The rated watts means nothing if the actual performance sucks. The xteam ran hotter and slower in the same truck. You can also get the surpass motor with a 5mm shaft as well as 3.2mm.

I think I want to go 3660. Would you recommend the platinum over the KK? And what ESC would you recommend for the setup? Thank you a lot for your support! 🙏🏼

    • @LawrenceTimme
      @LawrenceTimme  Před 3 lety

      Yes the platinum motor was a little bit better than the kk series for me. I would recommend getting a 3800kv or 3500kv 3660. As for the esc you will probably be ok with 80-100a in a buggy. I have not done my esc testing yet because of the bad weather in the winter. I will hopefully start testing esc in the spring and then I will be able to give a better recommendation. Thanks for watching 👍
