Dear Wes and Robert, I'm a 71 year old U.K. resident and I love your channel. My wife doesn't share my interests at all but I don't give a shit....keep going guys.
Hell ya! Age is just a number my friend. Video games unite us all. Appreciate your feedback and support. Cheers!
Adults didn't game back then like they do today. That might explain why the sales weren't like they are today. Our parents didn't understand gaming and viewed it as a waste of time, worse than watching TV. Parents today are soooo different. My sister and bro-in-law have a gaming room with ridiculous PC setups for THEMSELVES.
I was always late to the party with systems didn’t get a Nintendo until 1990 but man it was amazing , still have it in the closet … good vid
I wasn't late to the party on this one but every gen after I was. I kinda prefer to do it like that. It's a lot easier on the wallet too lol. Thanks a ton for watching. Cheers!
About the different coloured zapper: initially it was grey, but they later changed it to orange so that it looks less like a real gun
Makes sense. I'm sure there was some controversy around that situation. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
MY GOD the amount of quality content you guys put out is astounding. Thank you on behalf of your thousands... AND THOUSANDS of subscribers
Thank you man! We are glad that folks enjoy the stuff. That's the whole reason we do it. Really appreciate your feedback and continuous support. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid Let's take this shit world wide
@@GamingOffTheGrid , though I grew up with an NES/FDS, an SNES/NSFC , and a Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, honestly, the best bang for your buck, as well as the most diverse video game console, is, and will also most likely still be, the Sony PlayStation 2, as it was truly the last gasp of traditional video games and the peek into the future of what was to come.
I love how the 1st 2 minutes are filled with old news clips on the NES 😍😍😍 I love stuff like that , it's like a time capsule
Nostalgia in the veins brotha! Cheers!
Great channel and content. Being born in the first week of 1980 my first console and memories were of the Atari 2600. When I finally got an NES, I was blown away by the graphics and gameplay. The music in NES games is also legendary. To this day I still play NES predominantly and have also started collecting for other (all cartridge based) consoles. CRT and original hardware is the only way to fly in my opinion, but I've found an Everdrive to be handy for playing some of the out of reach games and to "try before you buy" other titles. You have a solid list of games here that anyone collecting and playing NES should absolutely get. Recently, I beat Batman and Castlevania after playing them for the first time 30 years ago. I've been working on Ninja Gaiden and Mega Man 3 lately...long live the NES.
Hell ya! Thanks for your kind words. Man, we still need to finish off Batman. It will happen this year. Has to our I might lose my shit lol. Ninja Gaiden and MM 3 are epic. Enjoy you time with them. Thanks a ton for watching and cheers to keeping it retro!
@J Dub, et al, your opinion sucks and CRT is an outdated technology that is hard to find, as well as is also harder to repair, with fewer and fewer people, as well as parts, to find for such things. Also, have you all ever tried to lug around a 19 inch color CRT television by yourselves? Yeah, that is pretty heavy, and I now have a 55 inch LCD television and, back in the day, you all literally could not get a television that was equipped with a CRT set up that was that big in the terms for screen size (I think that the maximum CRT television screen size was around 35 or 42 inches), so, unfortunately, you all were stuck with a projection screen television and only recently could projectors even play video games, but not so prior to the 2010s, so playing on an old school projection screen television, yeah, good luck being out of a few thousand dollars simply for a desire to play Super Mario Brothers. I think that I will stick with my 55 inch HD widescreen LCD television, as well as a fatter wallet, a happier back, no paralysis, and no death due to having heavy objects falling on myself, thanks. Oh, and if any of you want to argue with myself on the topic, a. I have actually lived through that era of video games, and b. I also had family that worked for a person that repaired television and electronics, as well as had owned a skating rink/dance hall/arcade, so I kind of speak from experience on the matter.
I have to admit I had a childhood NES and moved to the RetroUSB AVS. I love it, and it’s probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
Great video guys! Still have my original front loader from 1985. I was 13 and played the Hell out of it. Zelda, Pro Wrestling, Mike Tyson’s Punch Out, Gauntlet, Metroid, Castlevania, Mega Man 2, Contra, Super Mario Brothers, Metal Gear. Awesome!
Man there were a TON of games on the NES that were fantastic entries. This is where I got my start into gaming and to this day still finding one great game after another. Great video guys!
After my grandfather passed away in 2020 I started helping my grandmother around her house with outdoor chores. One day after a strong storm she wanted me to inspect the attic area to see if there were any signs of wet spots or leaks. When I got up there the first thing that I saw was a grey gun Nintendo box in mint condition. I must have been from '88 or '89. I opened the box and all the bags and instruction books and foam were in there. I already had the Nintendo and Mario/Duck Hunt at home. Ended up with a complete, in box NES. It felt like a last gift from my grandfather and instantly became one of the most cherished pieces in all of my collections.
Awesome story! Sometimes things just fall in place! Cheers!
Incredible video fellas! Very clean and straight to the point. Your list definitely has some bangers in it! Mike Tyson Punch out is mine. So many memories. I also love your take on the prices of these games. Everyone is different, and I’m glad you realize that. So I’m happy that we can all accept how everyone plays and collects for these retro consoles.
Just found your channel and this was the first video I watched. As a child of the '80s, I still play my classic NES on almost a daily basis. Kudos on such a great review, and I love the beer commentary as well. Keep up the great work.
Hell ya dude! Glad you found us. Getting discovered as a small channel is rough. Glad you enjoyed the vid. Cheers to the NES!
I became a Sega kid in the 90s starting with Genesis, but before that, NES was King! So many great memories with NES playing with family and friends as a kid. My parents never bought me many games, I had WrestleMania, Arch Rivals, Heavy Barrel, Tecmo Bowl, and Mario/Duck, but my cousin had tons of games so would hang at his house when I could. Have a collection of about 40 cib games now, got all the games could never afford back then. After NES went out back then, got a Genesis, then Saturn, then DC and never played much any other Nintendo console, but in the 80s/early 90s, NES was King for me. Great memories. Love the NES.
Yeah. I was born in 81 and by 89 everyone had a NES in the crib in NYC. The sales numbers must be under represented. It was like a VCR back then and we would go rent movies and games for the weekend.
Man renting stuff growing up was so badass. No internet. We just had the box art to guide our decision lol
I don't usually comment but really enjoyed the video. Sometimes I think these videos can be regurgitated each year but the content in this was fantastic. You can see you're passionate about this console in particular. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to the continuation of the madness series. You've probably already got the next madness series but franchise madness must be next.
Just found your channel through a random search on GameCube. I’ve been binging all your videos. I definitely think this channel is a hidden gem on CZcams. Subscribed for sure
Very cool! Glad you found us and appreciate you watching the vids. The channel has just started to get some traction as of late. Glad you are enjoying and appreciate the support. Cheers!
My NES saga began the year they hit North America. My brother and I asked for an Atari for Christmas and we got a NES. We were upset because we didn't think we would be able to use the controller because of all the buttons lol. Thanks for this trip down memory lane guys. Fantastic video as always!
Disappointment turned into a Christmas miracle :). Ol' Santa knew what he was doing lol. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid , agreed, and an Atari was old hat at that point, and the 5200, 7800, and 8-Bit computer honestly were pathetic in comparison to the offerings of Nintendo and Sega, as well as, to lesser extents, Microsoft, Commodore, and NEC. The only Atari system that was good that was not the 2600 was honestly the ST, but Commodore and MS-DOS were beating that console to a pulp, and Nintendo, Sega, and NEC were helping them along, and whoever was better than Atari was snacking on the remnants of the carcass of Atari at that point in its history.
This channel is such a gem in this landscape of CZcams super thankful I came across your content, one of the few times CZcams recommendations gives you a Banger 😎🔥🤌
Well thank ya brotha! Much appreciated. We give this channel everything we got so it's good to know it's getting to the right people. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid And it shows!! Top tier content and just all around great people :)
fantastic episode boys, always great stuff from you guys... and the commercial footage made it way better
For sure. That intro was a lot of fun to make. Digging up all that old footage was really cool. Cheers!
Dude, I’d kill for a R.O.B. It wouldn’t even have to be functioning, I’d be cool just having him displayed on my shelf. Iconic.
We are in the same boat for sure. We’ll get one one of these days:). Thanks for watching. Cheers!
I got one, missing a claw, but still mostly in one piece. Only played Gyromite with it, but it was great. Now that I think about it, I should pull him out of storage and see if he still works.
a used game store i used to go to had one holding their business cards. i offered to buy it, no dice. the Amiibo is the silver medal.
Now the power pad was actually awesome. World class track meet worked great. Trying to run faster than Cheetah and jumping the huddles felt so real as a kid.
6:53 🤣 Robert's reaction to 'i can play on my mom's meat wallet' well done sir you kept your composure 🤣
😂
GRAY! They were all intended to be gray. That was the only option when I got my NES in 1988 at 5 years old. Some law was passed that year saying that toy guns had to be made in flamboyant colors, so it was replaced with the orange one in 1989. I ROLL WITH GRAY! Stay outta my toy box, Washington! Side note, I remember when I first realized I could control the select screen for Duck Hunt by shooting off the screen to switch options and firing at the screen to select. That's at least 35 years ago now and I still remember it.
This was an amazing video, nostalgia overload. Keep up the good work.
Thanks a ton! We had a lot of fun making this one. Glad you enjoyed. Cheers!
Just got my first NES a couple weeks ago. Traded in a Wii and a couple games I got cheap at a garage sale. Was sitting on a stack of NES games already from thrift stores and garage sales. So much fun!
Love the channel, keep it up!
Hell ya! Enjoy the journey! I've been on the NES train for 30 years and still to this day I discover games I've missed along the way. Amazing console. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Really enjoyed the informative aspect of the video as well, it's nice to have some background and context.
Excellent video! You guys nailed every aspect of the NES! Thanks for the great content!
I had an orange zapper back in the day.
Thanks a ton! We had a blast making this one. Just combing through all the commercial footage was worth it. Cheers to the good ol' NES!
It’s crazy you posted this video today, I have an NES arriving in the mail today! What a pleasant coincidence.
Dude we had a feeling you needed this video today :). Not really but glad to help any way we can. Enjoy that NES brotha! Cheers!
The editing and the video opening was top notch! You guys just keep getting better
Thanks man! We put a lot of time into that intro. It was fun to track down all that footage. Cheers!
Awesome episode guys, great level of detail!!
Thanks man! This was a fun one. Glad you enjoyed man. Cheers!
What I love most about the NES is how most of the games are quick and easy to pick-up-and-play yet very challenging to beat. This makes them great for replayability and it feels so damn good when you finally get good enough to beat a game that you have been trying to beat for years. Modern games tend to be the complete opposite of that in that they are a hassle to pick-up-and-play and take forever to get going yet are easy for pretty much anybody to beat if you just put in the time which is why I’m still often choosing to pop-in a NES game over all of the games on the modern consoles that I own.
Oh, and Team Gray, of course.
Team Gray for sure! NES replay ability is one of the best of any consoles ever! They made games just right! Cheers!
Awesome awesome episode guys. Love what you’re putting out. Talk about memory lane
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! It has nostalgia running thru the veins! Cheers!
Such a great intro, good call on the news clips!
Thanks man! We enjoyed making this episode! Cheers!
Awesome video..keeps getting better and better ..great editing
I'm always excited when I get that Bell notification and see it's y'all with a new video
Thanks a ton dude! This one was a lot of fun to make. Got the SNES version on the way :). Cheers!
You guys rock! My parents got me the NES action set Christmas of 1989. I couldn’t get the NES the Christmas before, because Toys R Us just ran out of stock. Instead my parents got me the Sega Master System w/the free Double Dragon promotion. I guess it was meant to be?
Hope you got to enjoy the NES later on! Glad you got something! Cheers!
@jsttv You had both the NES and master system as a kid ? Lucky you :P
Great channel guys, it is criminally undersubscribed to. Hope you get big!
Thanks a ton man! The You Tube algorithm is a mystery lol. We just keep our focus on making the best content we can and having fun doing it. Cheers!
Guys keep it up! Love the videos! Can't watch the videos fast enough when they hit!
Hey nice open!! Nes Rules!! I am really liking this buying guide here.
Thanks a ton! The intro took some work for sure but it turned out pretty cool. Cheers!
That’s so interesting, I’ve got a similar story to Robert’s! I was also born in 1994 and was introduced to the NES when I was about 4 years old. My dad had my aunt’s old NES and a bunch of games, including SMB3. Even as I constantly played the N64, my childhood console, I would still play the NES because the games were just so good.
Y'all did a great job on this one!
Wow! That means a lot coming from you guys 😀
The intro was definitely inspired by multiple PGS videos!
36:31 "We love ourselves...
... some NES." 😂
Love the trip back in time. My gaming adventure started with the Atari, but the NES was a console I've always wanted. I would like to see a buying guide for what to look for online when buying an NES used. The price of the NES is all over the place when you look on eBay. Maybe give us some tips on how to find deals on eBay or even tips on which NES consoles to avoid. For example, how to spot bad deals or when to go after a broken console you can probably fix at home.
Thats a good idea! Maybe a future episode! Cheers!
I love all of your content the amount of time and details is awesome
Thank you 🙏! A lot of time goes into this project. Cheers 🍻
Never in my 10 years of game collecting did I want an NES till now haha.
Gotta have an NES broski! You won’t regret it. Thanks a ton for watching! Cheers!
Got mine for my 11th birthday. My mom and dad called me downstairs and gave it to me as an early birthday present. They knew I wanted one and kept asking for one
Awesome story! I remember those days of been so excited out of my skin getting birthday or christmas gifts! Cheers!
NES is my first console and had it my whole life. I have to share my fav games after watching this. Some are FC carts.
Mario 3, Super C, TMNT 2, Gun-Nac, Jackal, Mike Tyson’s Punchout, Crisis Force, Bucky O’Hare, Mega Man IV, Gradius II.
Love the content on your channel.Always top quality content. You guys are like Siskel and Ebert in the gaming world.
Thanks a ton man! Glad you enjoy it. We put a lot of work into this project. Really appreciate the support and feedback. Cheers!
I only recently got into video game collecting, mostly for consoles that I have nostalgia/memories. I never owned an NES growing up but I always remember playing it whenever my mom dropped me off at my friends house. It's the first console I ever played on and so I just bought an NES last week and will start collecting the games I used to play as well as the top 10-20 or so.
Hell ya! Enjoy the journey of collecting. It can be a really fun hobby. NES is so damn good all these years later. Cheers!
Love the channel. Great to see the younger generation enjoying a console I played in ms/hs!
Thanks a ton man! We have quite the age gap on the channel which is awesome. I was born in '86 & Robert '94. I pull him into the retro stuff and he shows me tons of modern games that I missed :). Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Great job, fellas!
Loved the opening! Always loved the NES and playing it on original hardware, Mike Tyson punchout definitely my favorite. The zapper color never mattered to me but everyone that I've owned has always been orange. Love your videos by the way!!
Nothing like the nostalgia trip from playing on OG Hardware on a CRT. It just feels so right. Thanks for watching and cheers to keeping it retro!
Excellent videos boys! Now same format for other retro consoles
SNES video is filmed and in the hopper my friend :). Cheers!
Another awesome buying guide! The NES will always be one of my favorite consoles not only because it is awesome but also because it was my first! It popped my gaming 🍒 haha
Thanks brotha! Gotta love the ol' NES. Epic console for sure. Cheers!
I got my NES (top loader) on ebay with 5 controllers, 2 zappers and 15 games (zelda 1 and 2, mario 1-3 and a few other dingers) for like 115 about 6 years ago. And gotta say, this thing has only ever grown on me. Im currently waiting on Tysons Punch Out to come in the mail. Ive never played it, and im looking to put some REAL time into it so I can maybe dream of beating him one day lmao
Dude! That is a killer deal. Well done. Good luck with Punch Out. You'll enjoy the journey, I'm certain of it. The feeling when you beat Tyson for the first time is unmatched. Get it bro! Cheers!
Love this channel!!!
Well thank ya! We really appreciate it. We're quirky and it's tough getting traction on You Tube. Especially in the video game space. Cheers!
Don't be afraid to boil the pin connector. Tried, tested and true.
Hell yes! That is our go to for fixing the NES. Tried and true for sure. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid I've boiled 2 NES's, my friend still joke to me when I am fixing something, "are you going to boil it?" Always lol. Thanks again.
My favorite system of all time. Loved this video guys!
It's such a timeless machine for sure. Epic. Cheers to the NES!
I love these buying guide videos!🤟🏻 It reminds me of those metaljesusrocks videos and those are awesome and so are yours!🤟🏻
Glad you enjoy them. They are a lot of fun to make for sure. Cheers!
Selling it as a toy after a few years after the E.T. video game was a good strategy with Rob the robot bundled in. I used the NES Advantage for Tecmo Bowl cause it feels nice to me after playing Pac-Man and the Turtles arcade game
That is a very solid list! Close enough to my own and I would say universally respected.
I've had an nes max since the beginning. But I absolutely love the Korean made Beeziu zipper with the turbo switches! Awesome contollers! My wife bought me a blue one and then had to get a red one as well.
The Mister FPGA can play just like original hardware because it's hardware emulation and has no input lag
Good video, like some of yours picks
Thanks a ton man! It was a fun one to make for sure. Cheers!
Love these videos they are awesome!
Thanks man! They are a lot of fun to make. Glad you enjoyed. Cheers!
I bought the sports set. Had to purchase the game from another person but I have it 100% Complete in box. I am collecting the games currently around 115ish titles. Also play daily. Love the video guys! I subscribed and liked the video!
Nice man! We wish we had that set! Thanks! We appreciate the sub and support! Hope you enjoy our content! 🍻
😲 yes I still remember blowing inside the cartarge and trying to figure out why the red light won't stop blinking! Super Mario Bros 3 was and still is the absolute best video game ever made!
Yeah we all did it! We learned thats bad for games as adults! SMB3 is such an iconic game and one of my all time favorites also! Cheers!
lol you guys got me almost wanting to get a CRT TV. It really is the only way to play any console thru the 6th generation. I have NES downloaded on my switch and an SNES Classic. But after watching your SNES vid and now watching this. It’s like why not pick up original hardware and a tube tv down the line haha..
It's the way we like to do it for sure. We do emulate at times but something about playing on a tube just feels right. And no lag to speak of which is nice.
I had the orange zapper and the turbo controller. Also the auto fire joy stick that I used alot playing Captain Skyhawk!
First off 13k WTF?!?! Congrats!!! Just a thought, every time you mention the word "shooter" in a video which is quite often you should throw in a clip of shooter McGavin from Happy Gilmore going "shooter" with the finger guns haha 😂😂 cheers brothers 🍻🍻
LOL! Now that is a good idea. Been a slow month for the channel but still managed to hit the next mark. You Tube is a funny thing. Cheers!
So when I went to repurchase an nes years after I sold my original, there was a Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out inside. What a bonus.
Always love it when that happens. Not sure why, but I find games inside of Nintendo Wii’s I buy quite often. Cheers 🍻
Great video lads
John Lennon!!!!!! Now I know we've made it :). Thanks for watching. Cheers!
“I can play games on my mom’s meat wallet” how did I miss this the first half dozen times I watched this episode 😂😂😂 I just laughed sharted so hard when you said that
Lmfao!!!!! Not many folks caught that little nugget :). Cheers!
The NES sports set was my very first video game console. My dad gave me the choice of SNED or the sports set and I went with the og NES. Greatest decision ever as there were tons of available games on the cheap when I started gaming.
I didn't even know about the orange zapper until several years ago lol.
Yeah old old school people will always be team gray! 🍻
I was born in 82 and me and my cousins had the nes so many great memories
I highly recommend installing the 'Blinking Light Win' pin replacement kit. It sets your NES up to also not push the cart down ever again. Reliable as heck - plays first try every time now!!!
We'll definitely have to look into that. We have pretty good luck with the boiling method but that would be nice to do to the consoles we own. Thanks for the recommendation. Cheers!
OOOF A CASTLEVANIA T-SHIRT, my cousin said 'chicken in the wall once' because of the chicken legs that you can get in some wall or stair blocks when you whip them- in an ideal world, it'd just become a standard phrase for when you find something useful that you couldn't immediately see
LOL! I'm gonna have to work that into my daily vocab :).
Jackal rules! That music is amazing. I would probably have put contra higher on this list.
Nice break down guys! I had a NES twice. In college my PS1 broke so I started trawling the pawnshops. I had a huge collection of games for around $80. Honestly though I just play nes on my wiiu now. It's a space concern.
That was a good list. I would pick Lifeforce over Gradius and Bionic Commando over Dr. Mario, but Mario 1-3 are some of the best games ever made.
With the zapper, I used to go to Walmart as a kid, and there were shelves of fake machine guns. Then a couple of kids got stupid and got shot so they started putting orange tips on all the guns, then phased them out.
Love all the games you mentioned. Gradius and Bionic Commando are up there for us for sure. LifeForce is one neither of us grew up with for some reason but we do really like the game. Cheers to the good ol' NES!
probably 6 years ago i sold off a 500+ nes collection with 250cib. hopped on pricecharting hoping to get a few of my favorites back and my jaw dropped! still got my sony pvm and rgb modded nes. i dunno if i can buy games non cib, but i don't know if my wallet agrees. jeeeeeez
I recently bought a sega genesis and super nintendo. I'm considering an nes but my only concern is those consoles were very finicky back in the day. I'd be worried about it breaking...but man do I miss my nes.
Yeah if you take good care of NES they last for a very long time! Just have to read your own mail! Cheers!
I also still have my Game Genies for my Nes Sega and for my Gameboy. I also still have my orginal cleaning kits!
Awesome video! I like the longer format videos lately. -did you guys receive my package last week? 🍻
Thanks man! We sure did. We have the brew in the fridge waiting for our August run of videos. July is bad beer month so we have to save them for a bit :). Much appreciated dude. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid Great! Cheers!
Everytime you guys mention jackel I have to load it up. Such a game!
It's epic man! We've been playing a lot of Kings of the Beach this week but we need to pop in Jackel for sure. Cheers!
I love the intro with pats magical hair
This was actually the third or fourth console I played lol. I'm slightly older than you guys, but I had Atari 2600, that was first system. A Colecovision and A Commodore 64. The last one is technically a PC, but as a kid I only used it for gaming. The Nes though, once I got that I never wanted to go back to those previous consoles. It was mind blowing at the time, and of course the system that brought gaming back after the crash of 83'. Cheers fellas!
Love the perspective. The 2600 is weird for me. Born in '86. I literally never crossed paths with one until like '99. I don't know how that could be possible. It was like no one in my area had one. I even hung out with a lot of older kids. Sucks because I wish I had some nostalgia for that era proceeding the NES. Cheers!
Funny see a guy a year older and one some year younger... My first console was a pong/gun console running on batteries. Got a c64 after that, then a nes. A computer again and finally a n64. After that its been collecting childhood memories
Nice man! Gotta snag up all those modern memories! Cheers!
I had the full NES entertainment System with with rob the robot gyro-mite duck hunt super Mario combo got for my ninth birthday 🎂 I turn 46 on June 19 I remember being blown away by the whole package After playing it for hours I remember looking through the Nintendo players guide and planning what to get next I was hooked from then on gaming from the nes to the turbo graphX to the Sega genesis Super Nintendo and so and so on till the current gen but I still have fond memories of the nes .
It was an epic time to be a gamer for sure. The good ol' days :). Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Loved that intro
Thanks a ton! It was a passion project for sure. Cheers!
Working early morning, killing bugs and rats! Listening to you guys! I keep the headphones in all day boys need noise while I'm working!
Nice man! Hope we bring the entertainment for you! Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid I'm not a crazy man, I'm an exterminator lol
😂
So stoked to see Jackal on someone’s top list. Thought it was just me
Jackal is such an underrated gem of the NES! Cheers!
The beginning of the end for a healthy social life and meaningful subject conversations
Those were good times! Things definitely changed in the 90s! Cheers!
Thank you for all that. The NES Max is pretty bad. I'm a little older than you guys (‘77), but while I did play an Atari 2600, the NES was my first obsession. I never had either growing up (cause my parents knew I'd get crazy-addicted), but I played at friends' and cousins'. I didn’t get my own NES until college in 1995, and I donated that box to a children's hospital when I got married in'08. I have since tracked down another NES that I don’t play as much because I have a modded Wii on a CRT or the NES mini or Switch Online. There’s so much choice now. I'm thinking of getting an everdrive so I can go back to original hardware, though.
We just got an everdrive recently and we love it! If you can get it we recommend it! 🍻
That was so cool
Great Video Guys! This was really fun to watch. I am team Grey. I have the Grey Zapper. I rock the original Front Loader Nes through Composite Hookup on a 2000s Samsung CRT. Looks great. I have the Nes 4 score with 2 Original Rectangle Controllers and 2 OEM Dog Bones. I also have an Nes Advantage and love to use it with Contra, Super C, Metroid, and Rpgs on the Nes. I loved your top 10 games too. Most I have on my list of favs as well. I need to pick up Jackal and Mike Tyson’s Punch Out. I am not a huge fan of Dr. Mario but I am not much of a puzzle game guy. My 3 substitutions for those 3 would be Tmnt 3 The Manhattan Project, the Original Final Fantasy, and Dragon Warrior IV. I am a big RPG fan though. I love the Nes Mini and use it for when we visit my parents or go on vacation. Also the controller on that works great for the Nes Remix game on Wii U when plugged into the Wii Mote. That is how I play that game. My Grail though has to be what I chose to get this year instead of trying to get a PS5. I managed to get one of the Final Run Analogue NT Mini Nior’s. That thing is amazing. That is a console that you could probably take Mike Tyson down with. I experienced no Lag at all when playing that thing. That Fpga Hardware emulation works amazing. Kevtris really did a Hell of a job. I still mostly play the Original Nes on a Crt but I use the Analogue when people want to play on a really large TV. Keep up the Great work guys!
Dude, why it has never crossed my damn mind to use the NES Classic controller on NES Remix is beyond me. So obvious. Thanks for the heads up on that. Actually just got a minty copy of Manhattan Project a few months back. It's so good man. Would love to try the Analogue NT some time. I've heard great things about it. Thanks a ton for watching man. This one was a passion project for sure. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid Oh yeah! I can’t wait to see your next stream and see you rocking that Nes controller in a Wii Mote when playing Remix on Wii U. It feels great when playing Super Luigi Bros too. That backwards version of Super Mario Bros. Everything just feels right.
I got the action set with Mario/Duck Hunt for Christmas in 87. Funny thing is all my friends got it that Christmas too to the point where it wasn't until early CZcams that I found out it came out in 86. Had no idea. I don't know which gun I had. I wish I did. My neighbor had the gamepad and we beat the shit out of that thing. My friend a street over had the power glove. We thought it was the coolest thing ever even though it sucked. I had another friend who lived in another town who I'd see over the summer. He was basically a rich kid who got everything who for some reason would only use the Max controller. I still don't understand why, but seeing him beat Megaman 1 with one was impressive.
I've got some NES games still. I got rid of most of my games for Genesis games but early 2000s a friend of mine was getting rid of their games and gave me two shoeboxes of loose games for free. All the Mario games, all 3 Ninja Turtles games, Contra, Tetris, Dr. Mario, Solomon's Key and more. I've managed to get box and manuals for 4 of them: All 3 Castlevania games and Legend of Zelda with the map. There's only two games I want: Batman and Mike Tyson's Punchout. There were tons of systems prior to the NES but the NES is the first gaming system where gaming had figured out what works that all game systems afterwards built off of. I don't play modern games and think "This is the logical evolution of the Vectrex." NES is where the gaming of today started.
Beating Mega Man with that damn controller is impressive. Some people love that thing but I never have. Badass score on those games from your buddy. Definitely a badass haul. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid It was funny man. My friend's like "You want these?" In my head I'm going "YES!!!" But outwardly I was like "Ahh... yeah, sure. Whatever. I mean if you really don't want them." Trying to play it all cool even though I wanted to jump for joy.
The NES Advantage is a must for Gun.Smoke.
Dude Gun Smoke is epic! We seriously love that game. We got into that and Guerrilla War at the same time. Haven't used the Advantage on it yet though. It's now on the To-Do list. Cheers!
Mario Bros 3. Castlevania 3 and Batman are top tier for me.
Hell ya they are! Epic games that stand the test of time
My Nintendo action set came with the Mario and duck hunt set and the orange zapper. I played lots of Mario and lots of duck hunt, Hogans alley and wild gunman.
All iconic games! Played alot of Duck Hunt when i was younger also! Cheers!
