God i love warhammer 40k! I mean the lore is just amazing. In the past i used to think of the imperium as just a unified entity plagued by the corruption of its system and leaders. but these stories: the families, the monopolization of knowledge, the role politics, culture, religion, and superstition has in the lore is just the best. It feels so life like and complicated. Just like is real life.
I fucking love the void born. The idea of being born in space (something to my knowledge hasn't happened yet) is fascinating to me. I also love the idea of these city sized ships forming their own unique societies and even dynasties. It's also cool to see any instance of upward mobility within the Imperium. On a void ship, if you're good enough at your job you can actually receive better quarters, food, shore leave, and all sorts of benefits. Slowly but surely, if you work hard enough, your family will essentially become a sort of noble house within the ship. On many ships, each void cannon, or loading bay, or engine room is crewed by a unique "dynasty" that has served on the ship for centuries. It's honestly fascinating to imagine the unique cultures, internal feuds and politics that must go on within these ships.
IMO this is the best channel for 40k lore/discussion out there, your presentation styles are just so relaxing and naturally intriguing. Made me fall in love with the fluff all over again. Keep it up!
kandice lenare I know you're being sarcastic but there are many channels that are much better than OMS. These guys mearly read off the Wiki pages and Gersh is extremely salty, seems to only care about the views.
It seems as if dependence on warp travel is the biggest problem for humanity. This is a problem that seems to have been solved by several xenos like the Necron and Tau and perhaps one day the Imperium can obtain a similar technology and thus not get fucked by chaos and shitty logistics.
My Entropy Tau never solve the problem, their way is slow compare to warp travel and i thing that the human did have the tech to move like the Tau when the warp storm happen.
The problem is the Tau method although a hell of a lot more stable is way slower there's a reason their empire is so small as for Necrons they have a huge advantage due to being way more advanced
The imperium could attempt wormhole travel. We know that they are capable of manipulating space-time to open portals to the warp, why not try to warp space-time to fold the distance between two points?
I thought they used Jace the living guildpact as a meta "sign of ill omen" being he is the worst Jace printed and was always a kick in the nuts pulling him in a pack.

Can you guys do a "40 Facts and Lore on the Iron Battleship." According to what I have read on these, they predate the Imperium, and could be as old as 20 millennia. I am surprised that more isn't do with ships that may have been built to fight the men of iron.
Question: Is every place in a hive world a manufactorum underhive or spire? or is there something societally in between high upper hives and the manufactorums where its highly dystopian beyond the upper hives of the higher adepts generals and lesser nobles but not quite a gulag like in the lower hive so as to keep the local arbites enforcing soldiers scribes priests and commanders loyal with a cityscape somewhat resembling bladerunner?
No more so than in certain parts of a hive city. Chaos is effectively everywhere in a material reality because it is the essence of the immaterial, all that it take for one to influence the other is the right conditions to be met. The lowest parts of a Hive city are rife with violence, stagnation & deception and all part of human life can indulge in debauchery. Yes being in contact with the immaterium more often than a Hive City dweller means they have more potential contact with it but only from within the confines of a shielded vessel. If anything the fact that the Crew is aware of the dangers of the warp makes them more on guard than an ignorant citizen would be if only by a small margin.
Question if i buy the horus heresy pack can i use the models in regular 8th edition games and does the alpha legion count as chaos (can i use them with regular chaos army's?)
The daily life of a citizen in 40 k. 100 percent chance to be in deep trouble all the time. Doesn t matter where you are grim dark will get you it seems :D
