So. A thing that helped me with iris versus pupil is that "Pupil and point share the first letter" and that pupils are the points of the eye, so to speak.

Nice video. For the animations if you want to go more in depth there is a graph editor to make more smoth animations. And an even easier way to do all that is to use Live2D phyisics to make the animatons.

Instead of lasso tooling it can you just draw everything separately from the start?
