  • (đŸ“č 7/5/2023) HAPPY CANADA DAY! These are some wickedly fast Otis modded elevators at 1 Place Ville Marie (simply 1 PVM) in Montreal QC. These were originally Otis Autotronics telling by the fact they preserved the old annunciators for those in the lobby, then modded with KONE TMS with the high rise version of Mustasarja fixtures (better known as M-Series), then modded again by Otis with an upgrade to the Compass Plus system. Allegedly, I heard these got modded in the 2020s according to people throughout the community. However, Compass Plus did not continue through the 2020 decade. Luckily they went with Dupar fixtures rather than the boring MM3 series, although US91 (except for ones with this one contact that I don't know the model of) is personally mediocre and shunned upon the Canadian elevator community. I'm personally not sold with the cabs on these. They could've gone with a brushed or mirror stainless steel ceiling, gone with all mirror paneling (since only the panel above the door is mirrored), and do a full swing return COP instead of an ugly AF applied one. I do like the lighting on the handrails though. However, these are still fun as heck to ride. Maybe the ride matters more than the cab in this case?

i believe modernization began around 2020, and was finished by like late 2022 (given there are so many elevators there + covid delays).
the thing im mainly bummed about this mod... is those amazing kone chimes are no more

I have no clue how Compass Plus existed at the modded time period when it was succeeded by Compass 360
