These elevators were pretty nice, but not the most exciting by any means and definitely not the same as they used to be.
This Hotel was built in 1958 as one of the last new Canadian Railway Hotels, and the elevators were originally Otis Autotronic with Square Touch Buttons. Then in the Early 1990s, Otis came along and fully modded them with a VERY EARLY Series 2 mod with the "Sticky" buttons, however the original bells, doors and 1950s style cabs were all preserved. ‪@jtelev‬ and ‪@LiamWalsheliamskitchen‬ filmed these when they were like this, and I stayed here back in 2009 and remember the previous elevators very well. However, fast forward to 2016, the Hotel closed for major renovations early that year, and when the Hotel reopened in Late 2017, the elevators were modded AGAIN almost immediately after.
As for my opinion on this new mod, I think it looks nice, and these do seem to still be on their original controller from the previous modernization as suggested by the way they run, the fact these still have their original "Sticky" Series 2 call stations and fire service, and the fact they still have a floor passing chime (not typical of most new Canadian Otis installations) and these have a Generic voice added to them as opposed to the Bilingual Otis voice used in most New Otis installations in Quebec.
That said, I do think the New Cabs and Fixtures definitely look out of place in the sense that this is a pretty historic and Iconic hotel, but considering that the hotel was literally COMPLETELY OVERHAULED and the hotel wanted a new look (which i find to be pretty unfortunate), I do think they did a good job (the old cabs definitely would've looked out of place with how modern these new renovations are), and the run character is still there.
Not to mention, the Old Otis lanterns with the Vintage Otis bells that survived the last mod, still remain, which is quite nice to see!
Overall, I find this mod to be a very nice mod that could've been way worse than it was, but unfortunate at the exact same time.
There is a "Private" Scenic Elevator with Older Series 1 Fixtures here that was thankfully spared during the recent renovations/modernization that goes up to 19, but it unfortunately requires a key to access.
That all being said, I hope you guys enjoy the video, and let me know what you think in the comments below!
Installed in 1958. (Otis Autotronic with Square Touch/Heat Sensitive buttons)
    Modernized:
1st Modernization: Circa 1992-1993 (Otis with "Sticky" Yellow Early Series 2 Fixtures and New Controllers. Doors, Lanterns and Cabs remain as is. Motors may or may not be left original)
2nd Modernization. Circa 2017-2018 (Otis with Red Series M2 Fixtures and New Cabs. Controllers, Call Stations, Doors, Lanterns and Motors left as is.)
