You’ll realize that you need to get bombs early on in Link’s Awakening. There’s a slightly crumbling wall in a room close to the entrance of Tail Cave, dungeon 1 in the game. However, you won’t be able to get bombs at this stage, so don’t worry about it for now. Instead, they’ll unlock a little later on and you can get all of the details in the video. Once you’ve got them, you can head back to Tail cave and use the item to blow a hole in the wall to get through to the next room and get the secret seashell.

Great video. Much appreciated. For some reason this information doesn't appear anywhere else online (most walkthroughs mention getting bombs from the shop, but not a single one says that they don't become available until after the second dungeon). Incidentally, major dick move by Nintendo taking something that was available basically from the word "go" in the original game and then gating it behind a dungeon for the remaster.
That’s it? All you have to do is just go in to the shop and they’ll available to buy AFTER you’ve completed Bottle Grotto? It can’t be THAT simple.

Your video doesn't answer the question of where to get the bombs in the first place
The game walks you through the early phases, but it's Level/Dungeon 2. When you finish Tail Cave the Owl will tell you to head north , but then you'll find that BowWow has been taken by Moblins. You can check out how to do this at czcams.com/video/F43crReG4H4/video.html. Once you've got BowWow you can go through Goponga Swap and then you'll find Bottle Grotto in the top right of there. The dungeon is tricky though, so you can see my vids on it at czcams.com/video/sOp3gfHCeWw/video.html and czcams.com/video/TYYiwP5B5Ks/video.html.

I talk it through in the video. You have to clear Bottle Grotto before you get the bombs.

You'll pick loads of them up in later dungeons and they'll spawn in the shop too. Try it again later.
This is such a dumb ass question but how do you throw bombs??
Face in the direction you want the bombs to go in and then press the button you've got them applied to. You can check this in the menu.
