This is probably the best April Fool's joke the music industry has seen yet. On April 1, 2018, they posted this video on their official social channels and announced that in the future they would continue to make music with a new image and under a new band-name. They also changed their names for it: Miku -> Hatoko Saiki -> Fujiki Kanami -> KANOEMI Akane -> Akatsuki Misa -> Umemisa For sure an action not without risk and we all can be glad that their label supported the action to this extent. The whole thing was so well received that in the following year they presented with 'Gion-Cho' a original new song, along with a whole mini-album in tow. 【 'Our rock never dies, ever. Forever!' - Band-Maid 】
They also released a 7-song EP as Band-Maiko. Band-Maid's next online PPV concert is on May 10 (early in the morning for US/Canada central time, but there are also two archive options - 3 days and 2 weeks). Tickets go on sale tomorrow. Details on their official web site bandmaid.tokyo/
Yep, this song is "Secret My Lips" played with traditional Japanese instruments. The lyrics are also a bit different because they're sung in another dialect of Japanese. All the members are from Band Maid, this was an April Fools video they did. Another Band Maiko song on CZcams is "Gion Cho", they do an April Fools video every year since 2018 (skipping 2020). The April Fools video for this year was done by Miku, she did a solo song that is very unique and different from Band Maid. Miku says it's her own style of 70's music. here's a link. czcams.com/video/kR-FPvYgPjM/video.html
This is their April Fool's Day persona. It was a joke saying they were dropping the "Maid Thing" in favor of a more traditional look. No, a Maiko isn't exactly a Maid, but more of an apprentice Geisha. Yes, they have one more song as BAND-MAIKO called 'Gion Cho'. No more BAND-MAIKO after that, due to COVID, or it's just too much work to rock that look even for one video a year.
Pretty elaborate April Fools prank! The Misa howel was worth it 👌! Miku is writing World Domination at the start. A Miako is a apprentice Geisha, a maid for the Geisha, and is the inspiration for the song. Fun stuff and so good!
Greetings from Germany...you're back?. I was afraid something bad (or so) happend to you. Two weeks ago i was waiting for MaidenMonday. And, ...nothing.. I was quite confused...but,... you've said nothing. .well, okidok...i kinda missed you
I have more coming. for some reason the last five videos I've tried have been blocked. very frustrated at this point. this is the reason for the lack of videos lately.

Gotta love the Kansai-ben they change the lyrics to. Also, MISA's howls are epic. The shodo that Miku draws translates to, "World Domination."
