Great reaction! For me this song is something else. That live performance is a definition of Art. I’ve never heard anything like that before. I’ve been listening to this song for like half year now, everyday, but it still gets me goosebumps.
I went to see the Pulse Concert in London. I was sitting under that glitter ball. An amazing night. One of my favourite groups along with Iron Maiden. Talking of Maiden you need to listen to Paschendale. Have fun 😁
Wow, me too!! I saw Pink Floyd live in the 80's in Cedar Falls, Iowa, after imbibing in the same kinda soup you did! Yeah, I regret not being able to remember much, only that is was an awesome experience...Oh yeah, my friend (Hi Jeff) and I were drinking a beer and hanging with some chauffeurs behind the stadium in the parking lot (we didn't have tickets) and one guy pulled some strings and got us in for free!!!
You and I are seem to be around the same age brother,... and we are both huge Pink Floyd fans! I've been a fan of theirs since the release of their 6th album "Meddle" in 1971, I was 15 at the time. I was at one of the very few The Wall concerts performed in the US, that was in February of 1980 at The Coliseum in Uniondale NY Long Island. Unbelievable Show! I know you did "High Hopes" from the same 1994 Pulse concert, another phenomenal song from that concert is "Sorrow". You would love it, there's another great David Gilmour solo in that one too! In fact every song that I have heard from Pulse is incredible! Love to see you react to "Sorrow".
yes, the story. by the way Pink Floyd has 4 big albums relatively. You need the check Darks side of the moon, Wish you were here, Animals and the Wall. They have great songs in some other albums, too. But these big4 are considered nearly flawless
I loved your reaction. I know what you mean by the vocals, but after watching this live version I’ve started to like it more. Dave sounds the same and his solo is probably the best performance I’ve ever heard. You don’t need to shred to play a great solo.
treat yourself to a third version of this song, 22 years after pulse: "david gilmour live in pompeii 2016". he´s 70 there and he still matures ... like good old wine.
There are a couple of versions of the pulse tour and this is the truncated version. There is actually about a minute + more to this video if you can find it. Most of that is in the outdo lead solo. I saw this tour and this song was the encore. It was epic. I never wanted the song to end.
Yes it's different because Rodger Waters sings the doctor part with David Gilmour reprising in his role as the patient part. And since Rodger Waters has been out of the band for nine years by this concert Rick Wright the keyboardist John Cairn the other keyboardist and the bass player Guy Pratt all three singing Rodger Waters part. Every song in this concert is that amazing! They don't as you say pull out all the stops for one song they pull out all the stops for their entire concert! I've seen them four times twice in the 70s once in the 80s and this particular concert. Every show they did was that amazing!!!! Oh and by the way you really probably have a funny story but really missed out on that 88 Floyd concert! You probably should have brought your mushroom soup with you and eaten it during the concert!!!!😏
It sounds different mainly because, keyboardist Richard Wright was on the vocals with Gilmour, replacing the departed Roger Waters who left the band years earlier.
Mushroom soup has a way of planting a Cheshire Cat grin on your face accompanied by 4 hours of laughing at anything that moves. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. What's your story?
I completely agree that Sorrow's guitar solo at 1994 PULSE (or 1990 Delicate Sound of Thunder) is better than Comfortably Numb but the light show that takes place during Sorrow at PULSE put it leaps and bounds above anything else as a performance in my opinion :)
David Gİlmour is a guitar god, yeah! And Pink Floyd is my second favourite band, a very far second to Iron Maiden. they unfortunately lost their creativity by arguing and eating each other out.
Great reaction!

BTW, feel free to correct my English 😅
@@lukislo My Polacy zawsze uważamy, że nasz angielski jest niewystarczający. Nie ma takiej potrzeby.
That is most peoples reaction to the end of this song. Total silence. Stunned in awe & then the reaction. Totally epic journey they send you on.
Saw them in 1994 in Tampa. An experience you will never forget. Awesome concert.
Saw the '94 concert at RFK stadium in D.C. I can remember the buzz on the radio when the tour was announced. Yes, it was awesome.
Saw them in Raleigh for this tour, Hartford for the Momentary tour and Nassau, NY for The Wall tour....THIS was the best of those 3.
Welcome to Floyd's world. It's always an experience
It may be one of the best solos ever, but definitely the most touching one. You can react to Echoes live at pompeii

Try "Sorrow" from the Pulse concert.

Check out the song Sorrow from the same concert. Another long solo in that one as well.

PULSE was .......amazing !!
About time for another shock vid isn’t it?
Yes to story!
So, we do miss Waters singing but the solo by Guilmoore balance that pretty well I think :)
Sounds like this...send me places. Don't need no 'shroom soup' :-))
Yes, mushroom soup story would be great to hear!

Yes the story Brother!
David Gilmour is ....you know...? God that's the word you are looking for :)
Ok, now you've seen an EPIC guitar solo, well, at the same concert the solos are all EPIC, "Sorrow"s" (song long) solo may be better.

I like the studio version better.
Cheers.
Are you familiar with radiohead much.? ... Would like to see your first time reactions to them if not...
Try Animals, and Meddle Album's 👍
Please react to Rubberbandits, Black Man or Prince , while my guitar gently sleeps
Solo kills you XD What happend when u listen to the UNCUT version ? ~2 Mins more of David Gilmore.
Look what you missed. Take Campbell's to court. Or is soup code for something else yes story

The difference is Waters isn’t singing.
