I always enjoy your podcasts on gaming laptops. You are always thorough and concise in your evaluations. Though I am a gaming laptop enthusiast and have been a loyal Alienware customer for 20 or so years ( I currently own a speced out X17Rs), if I were on the market today for a new laptop, and, If Razer had a support plan with in home repair I would probably purchase the Razer Blade 16. Until that happens I will stick with Alienware.

Absolutely appreciate your thorough insights! Love your reviews! We're currently in the market for a high-performance laptop for our live shows with visual performances. We need it to flawlessly handle multiple videos in Resolume, and it's crucial that it offers a variety of port options, since Thunderbolt to Displayport aren't always compatible with every global video scaling system. While I'm intrigued by the compact design of the Razer Blade 16, I feel the Alienware X16 might better handle the heat challenges, especially during festivals where temperatures can soar to 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit). Would be cool to see you do a video about the best 15/16 inch laptop for VJ's touring around the world. Cheers!

What an amazing review. I'm more inclite to alienware. I currently have an Aw 17 R5 which is heavy af and kind of old, so I have decided to lighter laptop and my two options are exactly those laptops. I was engage by the Alienware x16 but now the Razer looks more attractive, and dont forget that the rtx 4070 now have the UHD + mini led display port. What I really love about Alienware the ubication of the ports but at the same time it makes it bigger but by estetic looks great.

Nice comparison. Its actually a little comforting to see the two displays side by side. I'm not sure if it's any different in person, but I can only see a very slight improvement in the 500 nit display. I ordered the m18 a couple days ago after your review and this was concerning me slightly. But I think I can live with a slightly dimmer screen for the other benefits of the machine, especially since I never take my laptop outdoors

it is easier to see in person and its not a deal breaker unless you work in really bright envrionments. I even had a Razer mouse fail after a short time of normal use. When I pay over 3k for a laptop, I expect better quality control. I am a Spanish boy who is looking at comparisons between them because I want to buy one of the two models. I don't know if it's just yours because you have very TOP specifications and therefore more expensive. I found your video and I thank you, through the subtitles I was able to understand you perfectly and you explained everything in a detailed and great way. I would recommend that you also open up to Spanish speaking, since in addition to Spain you have areas like Latin America where there are many countries with which you could gain followers. Thank you very much for your video.
Regarding the video, I think I'll end up getting a Razer. It seems more elegant to me, the materials are better, it is quieter and it also ends up winning in the performance comparison. But hey, I'll buy one of the two brands in some offer. Also, it seems to me, (I don't understand about brands and this is more of a business and money issue), but I don't understand how Dell ended up buying such a TOP brand like Alienware. More than anything because at least, in Spain, it is not named as such a prominent brand either. And for example, in what you say, the programs are not as attractive or instructive as they are in Razer. I say this, because it seems to me that with Dell's purchase of the Alienware brand, they have lost more than gained. If it had partnered or bought with another brand, it would surely have been more international.
I hope you read me, I will wait for a reply and greetings from Spain, friend!

I had both! M18 with 4090 and Blade 18 with 4080. Decided to keep the Razer model. Didn’t care for the alienwares size and battery brick, plus the lower brightness. At $4k, it’s harder to just look away at something deficient. I didn’t care for the blade 18s keyboard and was annoyed how large the trackpad was but once I got used to typing on the blade it’s fine. That would be my only complaint on it though. Brighter screen ftw. Also, there’s really no reason to get a 4090 in a laptop, you’re paying a premium for not even a real 4090.
