That's awesome, when I was a kid Grave Digger was my favorite. Now years later, my kid loves Grave Digger. When she was about 3yrs old, we took her to a monster truck show, I thought she was gonna be terrified, but no, she absolutely loved it. She even took my phone and started recording them on her own, it was cute.
When I was a little girl my dad took me and my brothers to see a monster truck show and I got to see grave digger. It was amazing and one of my favorite memories as a kid.
my dad grew up with him down in NC. went to school with his daughter. my dad & Dennis used to ride the trucks around in KDH. Havent seen the man is years. Hope him and his family are doing well !
You could tell, watching the early TNT shows now, that Dennis was going to be somebody. He had a natural feel with the crowd, his honesty and humility are what made him a star. Plus a bunch of hard work.

I remember going to a Halloween party at Dennis Anderson's mother in law's. He had his first fiberglass grave digger body out front and it hadn't been painted yet.
The Anderson's should restore it and put in the Monster Truck Museum And Hall Of Fame so it can sit side by side with all the other beautiful rejuvenated old school monsters. Imagine restored Grave Digger #1 sitting next to USA 1, Bearfoot, Equalizer, Hercules, Frankenstein, Taurus, Goliath!
He doesn't want to restore it. He calls it the original grave digger for a reason. He keeps it on as property on the rc track, it's not getting any more rust than it had 40 years ago. He did mention to me that he may do a replica one day, For the monster jam Hall of fame.

Why wouldnt you put all the parts somewhat together so it wont be ever separated in the event you pass on before your ready. Just put the block on motor mounts in place where it once used to sit. That's a museum piece right there for real. I would love to see a grave digger museum. From the early years to today's technology. That would be a cool sight to see dennis!
I've been building my "grandma" for a few years now. I'm now finishing up the body. It had a very similar shape to the digger. Everytime I order another part, I tell my girlfriend to blame the Andersons'. They made me do it! :) Love you guys, peace

I will make a video of me picking it up and bringing it home as soon as they call me. I spent every dime I have and am blindly chasing a dream/passion. :) I figure I only get to live once (as far as I know) and the only thing I am really afraid of is living a totally 'normal' life. I don't mind hard work, but if its not attached to a dream then I'm just working on someone else's dream then. Either at their factory or their gas station, either way, its their dream and not mine. I understand he doesnt have any time to get her cleaned up.. But between his crew and lots of folks who would love to see this piece of history all cleaned up and running... It could be done fairly easily...

I remember the first time that I saw that truck with the red headlights in it it wasn't even painted yet,, that was in St Louis at the checkered dome in 1982ish
I've always wished that they would fix GD#1 up and put it in the monster truck hall of fame museum (the real one not felds bs) but obviously feld would never go for anything like that because God forbid a feld exec having to stand in the same room as somebody like Bob Chandler and besides we all know that Monster Jam just magically appeard one day 🙄

Virginia Giant is in cherry condition and used as a ride truck. Once the original body is located, should Diehl Wilson decided not to start with a fresh 1985 Ford body, it will be restored to original. But the old girl doesn't have a scratch on her.
I think you should bring that old baby back and make her the star of your building were you have all of your trucks so people could see where you started and what you have now please comment back destructives a icon I had a 49 Panel Van in my driveway I was going to make it a grave digger but my neighbor's tree made different plans for it when we had a storm crushed the Top of it and destroyed it on me it was a 1949 GMC panel Van I loved that truck I wanted to make it a grave digger please comment back you are the man of monster trucks

I was stationed at Norfolk Naval Station in the late 80's early 90's while driving around I seen it in a back yard really cool
