DIGGERS DUNGEON - Visiting the Home of the Grave Digger Monster Truck

- Diggers Dungeon is one of the coolest attractions I've ever been to, mainly because I'm a HUGE monster truck enthusiast. Grave Digger has ALWAYS been my favorite monster truck, dating back to around 1988, when I started watching the monster trucks on TV. Fast forward to the 1990's and Diggers Dungeon was created to give fans a place to visit and check out the shop. Now, it's a very popular destination for monster truck fans and folks who are visiting the Outer Banks in North Carolina.
Although Grave Digger's advertised home town is Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, the shop is actually located in Poplar Branch. We loved the Diggers Dungeon, the old Grave Digger trucks outside and the new Digger trucks inside the shop. Next we went to Digger's Diner, where our waitress was Krysten Anderson, one of Grave Digger's drivers and daughter of Dennis Anderson. What a cool memory! Then, we checked out the monster truck ride, which was absolutely awesome. Way more intense than I imagined!
Thank you so much to @RyanAndersonMT for keeping this place rocking for so many years. I really want to go back sometime and do a full tour of the place, and I'd love to talk more about the history of Grave Digger. For now, enjoy our tour during vacation, and stay tuned for more videos soon!

Thank you for the run down I live about 2 hrs away from there and I'm gonna take my boys to see it this week
Very cool, thanks for sharing!
I love monster trucks too.
That place is on my bucket list
Very cool video! The truck backing in the shop at 1:55 is actually King Sling #2 and yes that old body hanging in the shop was from Digger #3 from 1990. The 20th Anniversary body was from Digger #14. Love going to the Dungeon. Definitely a must if your in the area! Thanks for sharing!
Hey HRH. Just so you guys are aware, Dennis now has a neat Rust In Peace museum that you and your daughter seriously need to go see that when you guys go there again. Keep in touch, brother.
Thank you sir for yet another great video and also for sharing your family vacation. You are blessed to have such a beautiful family and such adorable children. You are Awesome!
Great video loved it looking forward to taking my kid's.🎉😊
Thank you, we're hoping to go back next summer. The new Grave Digger Museum seems like a great addition to the Dungeon.

You sir are awesome. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Tommy, we had a blast!
I love rain and 60° weather and storms, I also went there, though I'm in Virginia

Thank you Larry!
That's great to see your daughter get so excited about it there are a lot of kids that just wouldn't care you have a great family thanks for sharing.
Thanks Joe, we both share a love of monster trucks, so this was a pretty amazing trip for both of us.
i always thought the one outside was #15, glad #7 is still around, she's a legend.
Awesome video! I just went to Diggers Dungeon today and it was amazing to say the least! We also ate at the Diner! Krysten Anderson wasn’t there, but we did meet someone else at the Diner.
*Her father, the Legend himself. Dennis Anderson.*
WOW, we would've loved to see him. Always one of my childhood heroes.
That body panel on the wall by the back doors was off of #14 for his 20th anniversary
thank you for taking me along it was great experience
Thanks for watching Dave!
Great stuff, her reaction when she seen the trucks out front was priceless
That moment was definitely our favorite part of the whole vacation. I'm sure we'll be going back next summer.
Totally precious.....
U sir r a awesome guy !
This place looks so cool and i want to go there now more than ever. 😉
It was awesome, we hope to go back sometime and maybe figure out a way to get a more in depth tour.
Looks awesome 😎
Now that's a 4x4 that will go anywhere!😎Very cool!
It's crazy what these trucks can do...they've changed a lot over the years, but I still love watching the old TV shows from the late '80s when most of the trucks were still using leaf spring suspension and steel bodies.
Thank you for the awesome ride ! Take care , stay safe and healthy wherever you maybe going ! Doing well here in Kansas !
Thank you Steve, good to hear from you!
@@HotRodHoarder you're welcome
That’s awesome!! I’m gonna have to add that onto my of places I want to take my kids. Great video!!

Thanks for sharing!!!
Thanks for watching Doug!
@@HotRodHoarder I look forward to your videos you live around so much car history!
Man, too bad for the rain, years ago when I went on a vacation to Florida it would rain everyday, but after the rain everything would go back to normal
Yeah, we've experienced the daily Florida thunderstorms and those usually leave out by evening time. We definitely didn't time this one right...a front was just sitting on top of that area for a few days. We did get one good sunny day, but it was still unusually cool. Still a fun trip and we definitely want to go back!
Hot Rod Hoarder yeah until like 3pm it was really sunny for me then the rain hits, but I live in Delaware and to have that warm of water in Florida was nice
I haven’t been there in 10 since I’ve visited this place as a kid.
Wow this is great
We had a great time!
I have visited there twice and we vacation at the outer banks every summer... great video
This was our first time going to the Outer Banks. Aside from the strange stretch of weather, it was amazing. We stayed in an old school motel in Nags Head, and you could literally step out of the room onto the sand.
Great video I enjoyed learning the history behind the Grave digger. What a great day.
I'd love to do another video sometime that really digs into the history. Dennis Anderson really made something of himself with an old pieced-together mud truck.
@@HotRodHoarder fun fact: the recreation of the first truck was actually made using parts of the real thing that were saved. So in a way it's both a replica and the real thing at the same time.
That looks super cool! Glad your family had a lot of fun! I know my cousins and I have talked about going there and we have it on our bucket list to one day go visit from MN. We are all Digger/ Anderson fans and we keep talking about the timing of when it will work out for us to travel. We love a good road trip! Soon I hope!
The trip was super fun, but we got hammered with rain and storms for most of our three-day stay on the Outer Banks. I guess our timing wasn't super great, but we still made the most of it. I wish I would've had an inside connection to go check out the fab and assembly shops out back. That would've really been cool to see.
@@HotRodHoarder Hopefully there will be a next time for you guys.
ahhh king sling with the zoomies! without the body, just the green cage, its almost like a modern digger with zoomies (as they all should have).
My kind of vacation, Peace and prosperity....
Thanks Andy, we had a great time despite the rain. The sun came out the next day (the last full day of our trip). We definitely want to go back.
Glad you had a good time.
I never knew there was a place like that. Very cool.
It was a super fun part of our vacation. I hope to go back again someday.
They probably called her Grandma because she’s the original GD with the grave yard paintings
Cool
video
Honestly love the idea of putting old chassis out in the woods during the ride.
It was pretty cool to see them out there.
Cool very Nice man 👍.....one of my favorite monster trucks .....🤙🤘
Thanks Herbie, always been one of my favorites....especially the in the '80s and '90s.
Very cool. 👍
Thanks Micheal, it was fun!
How much were them grave digger body panels, the ones that are for sale in the gift shop, I've really always wondered. Could you tell me?
Imo one day there should be a Grave Digger reality TV show like duck dynasty or honey boo boo or something like those, Idk I just call it like I see it.
Great video .
Thanks David, glad you liked it!
My two favorite are big foot and max d
I live less than a mile from that place. It's pretty cool! he also has a mud park just up the road that I used to race in but the money 💰 started getting a little crazy! Hell he puts on one hell of a show! y'all should come up after all this covid crap is over with 💪🏼✌🏼❤️
We are definitely planning to come back...it was a bunch of fun and we loved the old school motel we stayed at in Nags Head. Stepped right from our room onto the beach...so cool.
@@HotRodHoarder yes sir maybe let us know ahead of time and we can bump into you if that's cool? Thanks for your awesome videos brother! I get a 1923 t bucket but my dad I'm getting ready restore . And next time you come you can more than liking me Dennis Anderson and his boys. I know them fairly well 🤙🏼✌🏼❤️💪🏼
That was fun! Boy does that remind me of when my kid’s were little. I took them to everything auto related. Today my son has a 500 horsepower Mustang and a Jeep Wrangler to play with. My daughter drives a beautiful red customized Toyota Solara. I guess they got the car bug. It probably didn’t hurt that their Moms SUV is Supercharged LOL 😂. I’m enjoying your videos.
Thanks Jeffrey, these kids will be surrounded by car stuff if they hang around me very much haha. Pretty much everything I do (work and otherwise) involves cars.
Cool vlog channel on CZcams
Thanks for watching Jerry!
Btw that red primer truck was the first one the blue and silver truck came after the red peimer truck then gramma came after the blue and grey
So awesome to see how excited Carly was to be there, hell I’d be pretty stoked myself! 😄👍🏻 Is this their actual shop or just for show?
Yeah, there are multiple buildings on the property where they build and maintain the trucks. Most of the trucks owned by Feld Entertainment (owner of Monster Jam and owner of Grave Digger) are stationed at this shop. They build the chassis, engine, etc. there. I hope to go back and tour the whole place someday.
Hell Yeah would be cool to see their fab and engine building shops. 👍🏻
Obviously there's money in digging graves. 😉 Where in NC are they? Really enjoyed this upload. 👍 Save the Wave🙋🏼♂️
They are in Poplar Branch, NC...close to the beach.
They didn't take us through the woods...😠
I can tell you what number all those trucks are
Ahhhhhh, so that's where some of the older chassis's are. It's a shame that these trucks are trashed and either cut up and scraped of end up like skeletons stripped of everything and are just a bare chassis. I guess it is what it is.
Thanks for sharing though!
Hi
I've never seen a girl that was interested in cars. Maybe if Carley truly does like cars, she could be the next Jessi Combs?
She seems to be legit interested in this stuff. I'm sure she'll grow out of it someday, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts.
@@HotRodHoarder I have teenage nephews who careless about anything mechanical.

You know your getting old when you remember when monster trucks were a new thing and Grave Digger was one of the later trucks to appear. I remember seeing Bigfoot, USA1, Mad Dog and Thunder Chicken at the local state fair in the early 80s, Cool history there, whish they would have taken better care of the old original ford panel truck.
Yeah, the old Ford panel truck is pretty rusty...I'm glad the paint is still hanging on though. The rust makes it even more spooky haha.
