Thanks for the demonstration. I've been doing similar mods to my RG8 so it's been cool to see how yours is coming out. I'm just waiting for my moderns to arrive.
Nice! Honestly this guitar is a great base to modify. Mine played great out of the box, just needed better pickups really. Hope you enjoy the moderns! 🤘🏻🔥
@@AugmentGuitarsMy thoughts exactly, thank you ! Quick question where can I find that brass nut you installed in the other video ? I want that exact one for my RG8 lol
@@Osteoporosiphobic Happy to help! Unfortunately I don't think the seller is making them anymore... I bought it through "AxeMasters" out of MI but I can't find the listing eBay page. Send them a message and see if they can make one up for you: reverb.com/item/42878666-axemasters-slotted-brass-nut-handmade-for-ibanez-rg8-rg-8-guitar
Can you put these in a slanted rgms8? scouring the internet for resources and it seems like the agile and legator guitars with them just have the regular fishmans, not special slanted versions.
Hey Sammy! So looking at the RGMS8, it looks like the coils and the pickup cavity route itself is for slanted coils, so I don’t think they would work without modifications. 😞 you’d have to route them out for soapbars, and even then, they might not line up completely. I know Bare Knuckle or Elysian pickups can make custom slanted sets that might work for you. Check them out!
Honestly, both are about the same. If you want to change the stock pickups on them, the Jackson has more flexibility as they aren’t soap bars. The RG8 has soap bars so your a limited to pickups that offer that form factor. Hope that helps!
Okay that’s it, I’m buying this for my first 8 string lol
Thanks for showing!
You rock! 💪

Are these the stock pickups?
I swapped out the stock pickups for a set of Fishman Modern humbuckers. The stock pickups on these RG8s are a bit too muddy for my taste 🤘🏻
@@AugmentGuitars arent the fishmans active though? Ive never tried putting active in a passive guitar
@AcousticSerenity yes they are active. You have to re-do all of the electronics. This has all new pots, jack, etc.
Hey, Jackson JS32-8 or Ibanez RG8?
