Thank You for showing us the shade when the lamp is lit up. Excellent video. You did not waste a minute of my time like so many others do.
Great video, thanks for your help. I didn’t know if painting a lampshade would be safe when turning on lamp.
I am so glad I saw your video! I bought a fabric spray paint (little can from hobby lobby). The fabric on the lamp shade sucked up the paint and it would have taken many cans to saturate the fabric! Not to mention, how fuzzy the fabric got! I didn’t think I could use paint but your video showed by cutting it with water, that would be possible. I am going to try your technique you are awesome, and thank you so much for sharing! I am a fellow Georgian, like you! Sorry for your loss, may God comfort you and your family through your difficult time.
Wow! Your bedroom is gorgeous! I’m so tired of all white rooms! Yours is so elegant! Thanks for the video!
THERE IS NOTHING LIKE GETTING TIPS FROM A PRO. THANK YOU.
This video answered all my questions! Thank you for all the details!
Condolences dear Cathryn. I like a white lamp as well. Paint makes all the difference. They turned out fabulous. Modern. But yet classic
Sorry to hear of your loss, Kathryn. Thank you for taking the time to make this so useful video. Very timely for me. ~~Debbie Z

Great lamp Transformation. Love the white, blend we with your other bedside accessories Kathryn. See you in the next blog.
This is a game changer and just what My old lamps need. Thank you so much!!
Beautiful, love old lamps they have more character.
Sorry for your loss Catherine. This is a great tutorial. Im definitely going to try this 💋
Great lampshade dent trick! Love your handiwork! I never buy new. Thrifting is so clever.
"Wow" You did a fabulous job on transforming those lamps and lampshades, there simply beautiful! And I'm so sorry for your loss!
DEEPEST CONDOLENCES. THANKS FOR THIS TUTORIAL . I'LL DEFINITELY GIVE IT A TRY. TFS.
Fabulous! Love the tutorial, now I'm ready to tackle my floor lamp! 😊
I learned something new with your video and I am certainly going to give this a shot! Thank you for sharing your video and God bless.
Your white painted lamps came out great! I love pops of it to accent rooms, it adds energy to a room yet is somehow still calming & tranquill at the same time. I was happy to see that there was still some light visible shining through your shades after painting them and they were not completely opaque. I have a tan/tweedy looking water stained shade I want to paint white. I'm sorry for your loss. We are also grieving a recent loss of our own. God bless!
I love this. I have weird bird oval shades on two matching iron lamps. The shades have a burlap-type fabric similar to yours. I would never think to chalk paint over the shade. The trick for smoothing out bumps in the shades is good too, though one of mine has a crack--I will need to get creative with that.
It turned out really really nice, I'm in the process of doing the same thing I love it 💕
A very nice tutorial- thank you!
Looks beautiful
Lamps turned out beautiful tfs
Beautiful Cathryn! I love the white lamps against the black accent wall.👌🏾
Hello Blessed Hands! Thank you so much for topping by and commenting. Cathryn
Turned out great and gives me confidence to try painting mine.
Amazing transformation.

Niiice! Gonna paint my lamp soon!
Can't wait to try this! Thank you for a great instructional video!
I have cream walls and just bought lamps at Goodwill. I'll try black chalk paint for the first time!! TY. Fingers 🤞 crossed
You can Do It!!
Thanks for sharing! ❤️
U r a great teacher ...thanks!
I love your voice & the way you explained everything! ♥️ thank you
Thanks for sharing
Turned out very nice
The shades turned out beautiful you're right sometimes white is the hardest color to recreate maybe not a lampshade but some items well you have to use several coats of white to get to the White you want and use a color as your base. Now when I go in used furniture store I will be focused on lamps cuz I like what you have created. PS will remember that trick you did
Loved this video! Great tips. Your lamps turned out beautiful
Beautiful very tasteful and classy
Looks good
My condolences to your family,
The lamps came out great!
This was so helpful!! Thank you!
Great tip thanks
great job and info!
Great revamp!!
Awesome!
Awesome job. Our condolences. Many Blessings.
I’m impressed with the detail that you give in your instructions. The hints that you add make a big difference. Misting the lampshade prior to painting is very helpful. And it’s something I probably wouldn’t have discovered until after botching my project, that is if I ever discovered it all. Why use the chalk paint over other types of paint?I definitely will go back and check out some of your other tutorials. Thank you.
I’m sorry for your families loss.
BOOEYROOWHO Hi there! I think you can use any paint you want. Just do the misting and add a little water so the paint isn’t too thick. 👍
Thank you. But why do you like the chalk paint? I forgot to say how much I appreciated your detail ...dust lampshade, buy a practice shade ( fantastic tip or reminder) etc. does make a huge outcome when I do something for the first time or a reminder for a 10th time. Thanks again from Oregon.
I just found your channel. Im exited to watch more
Great tutorial!
Great video!
Brilliant with the heat gun and that dent!!
Great idea!💜 Can it be done with spray paint as well? My shades are expensive as well, and I don't want to ruin them.
Thank you for that viedo
Love this video..What about the insides of the lampshade..Trying to restore some and they are so yellow inside..Can you paint them inside
as well?
Very nice job
Thank you! Cheers!
I just want to thank you for doing this tutorial. I'm buying a vintage stiffel swag lamp today with a very odd lampshade that would cost me a fortune to replace. It's in good condition and I think just painting it will work for me. There is a burn spot on the inside of the lampshade that I can see in the picture. So I'll probably end up painting the inside as well. I'll come back and let you know how it turns out.
Glad I could help! I would love to see the final results. Take care, Cathryn
❤
Hi, I love everything you did. I do have a question? What is a heat gun and can I used a hair dryer instead?
LaConya Davis Hi LaConya! The heat gun warms up the plastic side of the shade so I can gently reshape it. 👍
Can you add glitter to chalk paint when painting lamp shades or other projects
How long between coats
Did you paint the inside of shade? Thanks
My condolences. Keep busy in your craft that will help you go on. Your grif does not show in your craft.👍👍👍😍 Blessings.
Good jop
💙🕊💙🕊💙
Just what I needed for my ugly yellow shade!
My apologies, I didn't know. You have my condolences.
Lifted you and your family in prayer.
I would be afraid that the chalk paint would get dirty easily and would be difficult to clean.
