An interesting point to consider that never gets spoken about enough is nobody implemented a style of play at Manchester United after Sir Alex. Jose has said multiple times where he had his best teams, low block, Milan, counter Attack, Madrid, etc. At Manchester United it's been a squad of individuals for about a decade so he couldn't get them playing anything cohesive, nor could Ole, nor could Ragnick, and now ten Hag is struggling.
I'd love to know if it's easier as a coach having average players all able to execute a plan, or talented players who execute disjointedly, I'd say the former is by far easier. This is probably why we think the interviews are so crazy, we had the same with Ole, and with Jose. Rangnick was far more blunt, but I really don't see why we pile so much onto the manager the build a puzzle when the pieces don't fit together at all
LVG's 95 Ajax team i think were the closest in my time to be undefeated treble winners, undefeated champions league winners, undefeated eredivise winners, quarter final losers in their cup. Amazing team.

Remember during Rangnick’s time in charge before ETH was even mentioned, everyone said that the next manager that comes in needs time, at least 3yrs yet people are now saying get rid after 2 seasons. Maybe because he exceeded expectations in the 1st year and is having a terrible year compared to last season but he needs time and year without all the B.S around the club at the moment, what with injuries and all the new hires upstairs. Give a season without these distractions and if it doesn’t change just get rid then!!
Totally with you. What’s more BS is that if you just flip the seasons, you wouldn’t sack him. But because this one is happening now, it’s ETH out. It’s not like he had 3 good seasons and then 3 bad seasons. Give him his 3rd year
The only thing keeping him in job is the cost of getting rid of him and a new manager in. Even then he could still be quite easily gone looking at our run-in.

If they do sack him, they're just repeating the same old pattern over again so he should be given more time and money. Sir Ratcliffe should put out a statement backing him so we can put all this nonsense to bed because that's other unwanted distraction, especially for ETH, you can't do your job properly if you have all this hanging over your head!

Personally, I've noticed it is always the young fans who have no patience, which, if you think about it, is pretty typical for all things in their generations. They have never been lucky enough to see us winning a treble and celebrating it as an adult. Even if we don't win the FA Cup, I hope Ten Hag is only assessed by Ineos at the end of his contract. This feels like the responsible thing to do. ETH and the new Exec structure at United have this new window to fix/prevent the injury problems next season. I want to see another full season before his future is decided.
18:22 literally, a fit Shaw and a fit Martinez would fix the shots conceded thing for 1 simple reason: we can't keep the ball in our opposition's half without them. We've seen Mount, Reguilon, Amad and Pellistri all do great jobs at keeping the ball in the opposition half but once it passes the middle of the opposition half we're asking players that can't defend on the left side to do so under immense pressure when they are also being targeted. We have not had a fully fit Shaw or Martinez all season so it's been a problem all season, because we didn't have our backups or suitable backups (Jonny can play LCB effectively but not for multiple 90s in a 7 day period)
They're also replaced by VERY slow players which naturally pushes the defensive line back and creates that void in midfield.
Imagine the scenes in the court of arbitration when Omar Berrada shows up to testify against City in full United kit boots and shin pads included.

Watch the Ajax - PSV game from the 2021-22 season. Ajax look just like Man Utd now - giving away chances but attacking too and Antony isn't great. PL teams defend so much better than the Eredevisie so EtH's style of play doesn't transfer so easily. He's building a team and a style of play. We should give him time.

Being slightly more compact requires more players being able to execute passes into smaller spaces. Then, you have to have those same players be able to execute longer passes.
Please tell which players from United who have been consistently healthy do you put on the pitch to accomplish this tactic??
That's compactness in possession, usually when people use the word compact they mean out of possession which means the defence have to not drop off so far so quickly which means we need them to be quicker.

When Martinez plays he moves forward and pretty much stands next to where our CDM is. That would offer the extra protection, which you don’t get when Maguire sits back more while he plays the ball.
Martinez when fit drives the team forward. More so when shaw is next to him. EtH will be still here next season. I think we will see progress. Unless he goes to Munich

You know what.. Ten Hag in or out, I don’t care. But nice to see a change where we didn’t dump another manager because of a bad season (assuming that’s what this interview means). Fix what you can in this window, give him the year and if it doesn’t work out, then thank you but we’ll try something else.
Let's not pretend he's not part of the problem. If there's was an obvious, easy to get candidate his number would be up already. The cost of getting rid and a new manager is the only thing keeping him in job.

@@sahilp17They're fixing the club but the managerial position needs to be "fixed" too. Notwithstanding that, I think our run-in will probably see him off anyway. We can quite easily loose to Palace, Gooners, Newcastle and City possibly getting a thumping or two.

The British Media HATE Manchester United and if we are having problems on the pitch they always go for the jugular, and they are relentless. It only occasionally happens to other teams, but it is a constant for United. The British Media will publish lies about United just to get views. Too many fans are incapable of thinking for themselves, and they buy into the medias narrative.

AND. If you say no no no, give it gives them more of a cushion! Then the opposing players get to move freely and unhindered knowing that the aforementioned players - toss in McT too - cannot close on them without getting run by and having passing made easy enough for a quality academy team to shift them even more out of position.
