Hot Issues interview with Nana Akuffo Addo & John Mahama in 2000.

  • In the year 2000, TV3 asked me to start a new program to examine political issues, since we were in election year. I suggested Burning Issues, which was changed to Hot Issues when I was overruled. The rest is history. Now watch the following Hot Issues interview with "two gentlemen", one from the NDC, and one from the NPP, after the first round of the elections, when things were tense!

Imagine Ghana made Akufo Addo a ceremonial President and Mahama a Prime Minister. NADAA has all the grand ideas. JDM has always been on top of issues. Multipartisan democracy won't serve a Third World nation in this current global capitalistic market. The West would continue to use parties against each other to further dampen our plight. We need to define our own system of governance if we are ever to develop.

Prez Mahama prophesied what the npp would say after assuming the reigns of power, and indeed, Prez Kufuor said that. That's a realistic leader. He knows the reality on the ground. And he still does. Sometimes, we hate to hear the truth. We get a politician that speaks the truth and we vote against him cuz he didn't feed us with the lies that we wanna hear. God bless Prez Mahama.

Logical reasoning lost on some people. Does being a good communicator make one honest? Innocent facial expressions, but bile in the mind. John Mahama is not a politician. He is comfortable living in his small corner. The politician dreams big and and mobilize the people to help make the dreams a reality. John Mahama should have grown in politics like the wine which increases in quality as is kept longer. He has never learned anything, still practising the old Marxism political theories. Following this clip one can deduce that Akufo Addo has been consistent in his thinking. The can do spirit started long time ago. Listen to John Mahama's views about the health insurance promise by Kufour. Little minds who still want to run the affairs of Ghana. God have mercy.

Given what happened after the run-off in the 2000 elections you can clearly see that Nana Addo's reason for saying the NDC was going to lose in the run-off was true and it came to pass while Mahama in his usual self was living in self denial and trying to lie to himself.
Again from day one John Mahama has never believed in a prosperous Ghana to the extent that he sees such promise as deceptive. Shamefully he is now promising the same thing as an opposition leader. Should we see his promises in opposition as deceptive now?
