Fine this ref for what? Cp3 brought the argument, made it personal as he said it’s personal between the 2 of them. Foster clearly questioned cp3 as to why he’s still talking about w.e past issue. He deserved the personal foul before the first technical, as well. Since he would not let it go after the first technical, he earned the second one also. If you are a player, and know that you and a ref are on bad terms, why do you yap after you commit a pretty obvious personal foul?
It's not your typical player ref argument. These guys actually hate each other, and have been beefing for years. All we can see as fans, is how foster makes calls on cp3. I'm not giving cp3 a pass, but the fact that he has no control when it comes to playoff games for YEARS, is incredibly frustrating. Replace insignificant last 2-minute reports for the games that the NBA allow for public review with 48-minute reports for EVERY game. Identify EVERY official assigned that was involved in the recorded call, INCLUDING officials in the replay center. Enough of these inconsistent, arbitrary and capricious calls that change momentum, impacting the outcome of single or multiple games.
Since Adam Silver prioritizes story and "scripting" games to advance that story, replace him with a former player who understands basketball "culture" and won't control/silence through ejections, fines and suspensions.

No matter what anyone says, the refs have the power to change game flow and they should be held accountable as everyone else is in the league. The refs need to take the podium after games.

Here's my take with the ejection. It looks REALLY bad on the part of Scott Foster, and he should be suspended. It looked personal. As an official, it should never look peronal.
Foster allowed AND engaged Paul in the discussion. After that, you have to live with the results. You can't allow the conversation, then assert your authority when it doesn't go your way.
Not only that, he clearly assessed both technical fouls once he got angry. He assessed the first tech as Paul is walking AWAY. It looked very unprofessional. Then after HE ejects the player (normally I say players eject themselves), he techs the coach because he was "in his feelings."
There's really no defending Foster's behavior in this situation.

So in the off season the NBA creates news rules to hold players accountable and keep them on the floor as much as possible. And we understand and appreciate that. Just to start the season and keep watching the stars be kicked out of games for minor things. Joker got kicked out in Detroit the other night in the first half. He's probably the best player in the league and they play in Detroit once a year. SMH

This isn’t a wrestling promotion where we attend the event to see a fan favorite wrestler. It’s basketball. I want a fair game on both sides. I can’t stop it. The people came to see this fighter. He only fought in LA once before.”

Scott Foster did nothing wrong in this situation. Chris Paul fouled KD and wouldn't stop complaining. He earned that first tech and then cursed at Foster to earn the second tech. Chris has a history of crossing the line with refs, and yet Foster has never ejected him until last night. The players are not always right.
Didn’t know you couldn’t talk about the foul you ‘allegedly’ committed with a ref. 3 techs being called within 3 minutes. Refs shouldn’t call techs for personal reasons.
