Hey, this happened to us as well. We had planed our trek to Tadiyandamool during the month of March from our office two years ago. We stayed at a nearby place. next day to our disappointment. The trek was closed due to forest fire. We later came to know that most of the trek is closed during peak summers. A lesson the hard way. Oct to Jan is the ideal time to trek. I'm planning to visit there again. It's actually a beautiful trek, post monsoon with the lush green peaks.

If you feel nauseous especially when you're in a moving vehicle, close your eyes and go to sleep. You should have just put your heads on the backpacks in your lap and taken a nap. I don't know how to explain it, but there's a connection between nausea and the act of looking at motion ( when you see things pass by outside the window) while you're in motion.

  • @Thejus_5511

Madam, Hitchhiking in India would be a little difficult and adventurous since it is done only when we don't have any other options left to continue the journey even by the locals, so as foreigners I don't know how you would be treated if you are continuously hitchiking.
In my opinion the best way to do travel in India and seeing all the beauty through the travel is to take buses one place to another and Auto rickshaws if its not there, but whenever doing this, talk with a local who knows English to confirm the route and the expense, or else it is easy to get fooled, it's common even for people from other states of the country. Don't take that seriously, people of all kind are here, many many good hearted people are there in all parts of India, find them talk them in English, understand the region and then continue travel to avoid any inconveniences.
    Good luck
    From Kerala, India

Not sure what your travel plans are, but a lot of treks are closed during the summer (in the south at least) to prevent people dying from sudden forest fires. We're in the middle of a bad heatwave rn.
Y'all should have come around to Coorg or even the western ghats around june-july, the monsoon season....the forests come alive! You'd experience nature like never before.

If you're hitchhiking, you already have a higher threshold for inconveniences than most travelers - Then you should consider renting a motorbike (per person) to get around small to medium distances. Land in a city, leave big bags with someone trustworthy, then pack light lugguage for 2-3 days trip on motorbikes in the surrounding region, then back to the city to fly out to another section of the country.. Motorbiking has its troubles too, and it's not totally safe, but I'd rate it better than hitchhiking!

I might have to take offence for specifically mentioning Coorg in the video thumbnail!
Because if you observe through google maps & in your video at 12:30 time you stand on the route going towards Kushalnagar & ask people to take you to somwarpet then obviously people will take you to the nearest bus stand which is in Kushalnagar or will tell you to go back to madikeri & hitchhike along the correct direct route towards somwarpet!
So, please don’t spoil the land’s name by mentioning it on your thumbnail when it’s your mistake to not check on google map whether you are hitch hiking in the right route or not, coz here in India we have multiple routes to 99% of the destinations & ppl are 99.9% kind enough to help you.
BTW I am a native of Coorg hence being a bit emotional.
Anyways a good video but seems like you don’t want to rely google maps for routes when you hitch hike I dono why?!
    Cheers
