The Story of Irish Martyr St Oliver Plunkett

- July 1st is the Feast day of Irish Saint Oliver Plunkett.
Saint Oliver Plunkett has a very inspiring story of bravery and martyrdom a worthy successor to the faith of St Patrick. Last year we visited his shrine and his head in Drogheda at the St Peter's Parish, Drogheda and spoke with Author and parishioner Tommy Burns.
Saint Oliver Plunkett is a very distant relative of mine, privileged to visit St Peters 20 years ago. Treasure mementos given to me. Thank you for lovely presentation.
I was baptised in 1975..christened Martin Oliver. My gran signed a framed picture of St Oliver. I have it on my mantle piece in my bedroom. My gran is still alive at 87.God & St Oliver.. Bless her and my parents, my brothers & sister.
I took the name Oliver as my confirmation name because I was born on the 1st of July and St. Oliver Plunkett is the Saint of that day and also my Patron Saint.

The Irish people may justify their timeless and unwavering determination, bravery and martyrdom virtues. I started reading about some of those figures once I discovered story of the late nun- Clare Theresa Crockett. Then going back and back to Irish history , it seems an ocean of Saints.

#1 - How could he be your gggggggg grandfather when he was a priest and did not marry?
#2 - I have been told that tests cannot link back that far because of a fire that has wiped out 300 years of records in Ireland. How were you able to link back to him?
