I hear you loud and clear. Don't rule out applying for PIP...not because it allows you to live your life in decadent dependency but because EG: it can help with things like keeping your home warm (for many the cold increases their pain and stiffness), That little bit of money can save society more in the long term to keep you as healthy and independent as possible.

There is no social mobility. Working conditions are abysmal. Adult training/retraining is needed. To talk about the "budget" for people who have COME OUT of work (and therefore paid taxes into that budget!!) And gone on the dole being TOO HIGH is disgraceful so long as we hemmorage money towards people who have NEVER contributed to the budget - illegal economic migrants.

im a class 1 hgv driver and i struggle to pay my bills. i dont know how anyone can live on minimum wage. They cant. my wages have barely gone up a couple of quid over 25 years while the cost of living is ridiculous. It really is simple. if you want people to work PAY THEM FFS

Why not revert back to contribution based instead of needs based? Oh yeah, migrants would then be excluded.... Can't have that, can we?

It isn’t a live style choice who in their right mind would go on benefits as a choice. Yes some people with illness can work but it depends on the how bad it is.

Ask yourself this. Would you 'choose' to live on £85 a week and to have everyone look down on you and to have to jump through all the hoops that they throw at you? Very few would choose this lifestyle.

The real unemployment level is much higher than what they are telling you. If you are on a zero hour contract, you are not counted as unemployed, even if you have no work. Also if you are on minimum wage, and you have work for say only 6 days, you are not counted as unemployed for the remaining three weeks of the month. Don't let the Conservatives CON you into believing there is low unemployment.
