Thanks Lee, glad all the feedback has been positive. Stevie is the gift that keeps on giving. My favorite song is ALL of them. 😊
Thank you for this Barry!! What a wonderful artist this dude was. He can play anything
And that’s not a lie!
What couldl I say about Stevie that hasn't been said a thousand time before? There's just no bad song by this musical genius.
that's my predicament as well... i'm just like wow. what do i even say. you just heard it. lol
My world is better because of Stevie Wonder.
1970, riding around with friends and this song comes on the radio- stop the car and start dancing on the roadside 😊
...when you believe in things that you don't understand ~ then you suffer... Love that line!
that is a hell of a line...
I remember “Superstition” from when I was a kid. Now, in my advanced age, with that line in mind, I’m fairly certain that it’s about religion.
First of all ~ Thank YOU for making the decision to start this channel! We wouldn't be here if it weren't for YOU! A lot of us here grew up with this music and I, for one, am Thrilled to see younger people dive into this music and appreciate it. At my age, there aren't many young people who care about what us "old folks" have to say / offer ~ it's a good feeling to be "heard." Thanks L33 !
wow, thank you jessica... that is the nicest thing anyone has said to me all day! you are the best! i am so glad y'all are here. i am here to learn. and the wisest folks seem to be the older ones :p people my age are usually nimwits.
My Cherie Amour is the most beautiful song he has written and takes me right back to 1967.
"As" - a simple title for an epic song.
Jeff Beck gave Stevie the drum riff, played it for him. Stevie played every part on this cut except the tenor sax and the trumpet. The man's a genius.
People who loved him from the start, still call him Little Stevie. Lesser known ballad of his, Lately, is a knife to the heart!
25 Grammys!!!!
Definitely a musical genius
easily one of the best of the 20th century!
Btw, "Innervisions", "Fulfillingness' First Finale", and "Songs in the Key of Life", all won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, making Stevie the only artist to have won the award with three consecutive album releases. 🤩
"Innervisions" is my favorite SW album.
Every song is amazing!!
ive heard 2 tracks from that one and yeah, that is a helluva an album.
Yes it is! Mistra Know It All is a must.
Stevie's a blessing to us all
he truly is. i'm glad we are listening to him. i need him right now!
Absolute sunshine. Some of the best tracks ever
glad you enjoyed my friend. i love doing these every week. i always end up dancing one way or another lol
@@L33Reacts good for the soul bro
Yes. Some days need furious dancing❤@@Hartlor_Tayley
"Lookin' For Another Pure Love" (w Jeff Beck), "I Wish" and "Boogie On Reggae Woman" are some of his best as well. Cheers from Canada!!!
Yes, on "Superstition" everything you hear except for the horns is played by Stevie Wonder (vocals, Moog bass, multiple keyboard parts and drums)!
nuts. absolutely nuts. what a creative genius.
Stevie is a God to me.
I have everything he ever did and I’ve seen him 7 times.
You could say I’m a bit of a fan.
glad you're enjoying Stevie. He really never misses. Like, ever.
yeah ive heard 10 songs of his.... he is 10 for 10 so far lol
Stevie was a hit machine for so many years! Insanely talented.
I WISH is Stevie's hardest rockin' funk jam ever. You will love it instantly. And yes, Stevie plays the drums.
Four incredible Stevie tunes, each unique and absolutely magnificent musicianship and songwriting! ❤
There's so much... each song plays my smile gets bigger.
You’re right about the quality - it doesn’t matter because Stevie shines no matter what. When I listened to him on the AM radio as a kid, he was the best even though the sound was crap!
I remember seeing him on American Bandstand when he was 12, "Little" Stevie Wonder doing his first big hit, Fingertips. It got to number 1 in these parts - rural Maine. Pure joy has universal appeal. Nice brown drapes. The room is artfully and tastefully accessorized. Looks like you're getting ready to hold a seance. I approve. I know my approval is important to you
YAY!!
stevie time!
Every single SW released was a guaranteed hit!
All great songs. "If You Really Love Me" comes from 1971 when he got to put out his first album with full creative control (Where I'm Coming From). His then-wife Syreeta Wright sings the backup vocals there. He plays everything but the horns on that one as he does on "Superstition" which was the hit that truly launched him into the stratosphere.
Stevie is an icon!
“Signed, sealed, delivered” is a soulful banger! Loved it then and love it still. So many great ones by Stevie.
“Ebony and Ivory” by Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney is another great song 🎶
Stevie's first hit was Fingertips Part 1 and 2. He was 12 and billed Little Stevie Wonder.
I listen to music to help with my chronic pain. Stevie is one of the best for help. When things get bad I put "Songs of the Key of Life " on, works every time.
4 solid, classic and all Stevie tunes....love it, explore "songs in the key of life"
Stevie wrote 'Superstition' for Jeff Beck, but I believe Jeff had an accident and while he was recovering, Stevie released it himself. Jeff didn't get around to it 'til he formed Beck Bogert and Appice(pron.?), I'd recommend looking for a live version. I saw them in '72 in Toronto and bought a pristine sounding double live in Japan LP a few years later.
Always a fave at rock and blues jams too.
What's not to love and wonder(🙄) in astonishment at Stevie's superb songwriting and musicianly chops?
Stevie Wonder is in my top 5. The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Beach Boys, The Eagles, and Stevie.
My Cherie amour is my daughter's baby song.🤍(I just changed the chorus lyric slightly to say " I'm so glad you are mine"😊)
@@L33Reacts 🤍
Stevie's version o' Superstition is the original but it was covered by Stevie Ray Vaughn 'n Beck, Bogert 'n Appice.
Signed, sealed, delivered is a soulful banger! Loved it then and love it still. ❤❤
I can only envy you being able to listen to some of these songs for the first time. Keep going, you're doing a great job putting them all in place in your head. It takes a lifetime to sort through them and even then you never even get half way.
Banger of a reaction day! Bravo!
yeah today was a great day... legends left and right. i love it. thank you for watching!
Stevie is a genius....
It was just wonderful growing up with Stevie music🎶
OK, YOU MUST HEAR "MAYBE YOUR BABY" when Stevie went deep into Psychedelic Vibe from the 1972 'Talking Book' album, the same LP as Superstition. The previous were from his earlier pre-independence from Motown songs!
My two favorite Stevie songs (at the moment) are As and Another Star. Master Blaster and Boogie on Reggae Woman are also must listens.
ALFIE
Check out "Higher Ground ", you probably heard the cover that the Chile Peppers did.❤
Growing up with pop radio you grow up with nameless TEXTURE in your life! The texture of modern pop, though, is almost featureless! Too smooth to mean anything...
Stevie is a true genius and one of the greatest musicians alive. Don't hesitate to discover his classic albums from the 70s "Music of my Mind", "Talking Book", "Innervisions", "Fulfilingness First finale" or "Songs in the key of Life" his artistic peak. You will still have great discoveries and surprises knowing that he is the original author.
Wow, awesome songs from Stevie! Superstition was my Mom's favorite song, thank you for this reaction Lee!
Stevie Wonder..."As" is THE ONE.
O.K...You need to play THIS on "Stevie Sunday"...2 Stevies....Stevie Wonder AND SRV go OFF on an incredible MTV video of "Superstition"....with Salt n' Peppa, Jodi Whatley, and a bass player that bangs ( forgot his name). Dancing onstage by more artists,, Stevie jumps up and riffs, SRV is wearing a CAPE, for God's sakes...it is the Wikipedia definition of FIRE.
SRV'S licks are SO tasty...having the time of his life.
You WANTED to dance to Sly......You WILL dance to this one.
Oh yeah, Wonder sang at SRV'S funeral.
His glee in Signed, Sealed, Deluvered l'm Yours is down right contagious. Thanks💥
So glad that you knew Superstition as a kid! That's awesome. And these are four great picks, absolutely. Play song several well a lot more than several reactions I've watched of yours in several different genres, I have a feeling that you really need to react to, and both of these are hits and fan favorites, these two songs:
Boogie On Reggae Woman
I Wish
Both are hits and both are bangers. And the first one was so revolutionary for the time. For me when I heard it as a little kid on the radio, it was just like what you were describing with Superstition.
A little Stevie goes a long way to making every day better.
You should check out a chart for My Cherie- the chords in that are insane! Nobody but Stevie would out could do that
2nd is my favorite
PLEASE think about doing "I wish" ??
9ne of my favorites.💙
That might or might not be on the list for the month! My lips are sealed though
@@L33Reacts ooook. 🤗
it makes me so happy that you're learning so much and really soaking it into your soul. well done, my friend.
"Innervisions" is my favorite Stevie Wonder album from his "classic period." His classic period began in 1972 with the releases of "Music of My Mind" and "Talking Book", the latter featuring "Superstition", which is one of the most distinctive and famous examples of the sound of the Hohner Clavinet keyboard, "Innervisions" (1973), "Fulfillingness' First Finale" (1974) and "Songs In the Key of Life" (1976).
I'm hoping that your next Stevie segment incudes the amazing "Higher Ground" from Innervisions. You may know the famous cover by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. 😀
To be honest, all the above albums are just great!!!
Great choices. Of the group “Signed, Sealed Delivered” is my favorite. Maybe not the best produced of the songs, but the soul & passion is hard to ignore.
I think each of the songs that you have played are my favorites and the ones you played last week were also my favorites of Stevie Wonder. TY I had a special fondness for last week's I was made to love her... I was hooked by the line "Iwas knee-hi to a chicken when that love bug bit me. 😊
Again, soundtrack of my youth…Stevie was with us since Fingertips, constantly astonishing us. Amazing❤
Check out the whole of Songs In The Key Of Life.
i wish we could do the whole thing. that would be dope. we are doing like a sampler platter of his stuff.
Love so many Stevie songs. Signed is my fav with You Haven't Done Nothin close second. For some obscure ones try Contract on Love, Too High, Chemical Love , Do I Do , He's Mistra Know it All, Front Line and All Day Sucker. 😎👍
Your attention to detail in your videos is impressive!
All great songs. I think my favorite dong of his is Sir Duke. He pays trubute to great singers and musicians who came before him. Glad to see you finding all these favorites of mine. Befre you started on this journey, what types of music did/do you like?
If you get a chance, you should check out Rick Beato's breakdown of "Superstition" as part of his "What Makes This Song Great?" series on his CZcams channel. He has access to the individual music tracks and is able to isolate them. Great stuff!
i've watched a few of his videos. very interesting fella. i like his analysis a lot.
Hey there, sir... great reactions! Decided to go ahead and sub... worth it for me 🙂
... for me, Living for the City is where it's at for Stevie... great music, great lyrics.
I have a request... a trilogy...
Robert Palmer debut album 1975.
The first 3 songs go together...
Sailin' Shoes
Hey Julia
Sneakin' Sally through the Alley
...I feel you will not be disappointed!
Studio version, please! There is a live one out there. It's good, but the studio for 1st listen!
......
Me: b. 6/6/66. My top 3 are zep, floyd, and orig. Bad Co. I, too, am a drummer... just a hobby, nothing serious. Bonham forced me to learn, I couldn't get enough.... peace out!
Talking Book is an amazing album. Not a bad song on it.
Why isn't there a radio station that plays a setlist like yours everyday?
Most songs before the late '60s were 3 minutes or less. Top 40 AM radio stations wouldn't play anything longer. Then the Album Oriented Rock (AOR) format debuted on FM stereo stations. Some stations, such as KSHE 95 FM in St. Louis, allowed the DJs to play whatever song they felt like, any length, even whole album sides. Their only limit was that they had to say the station ID at least once every hour.

Yes! Superstition in your ways...
This may not be “middle Stevie “. Early middle? Middle middle? Anyway try Songs in the Key of Life, Hotter than July, and In Circle Square. All brilliant.
Superstition...you'll love Stevie Ray Vaughans version
SRV did a version?? ok i need to do that for stevie sunday now lol
@@L33Reacts the live version is of course wonderful, but the video has an amusing cameo from Stevie Wonder
