Drummer reacts to "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" by Earl Scruggs & Friends
The Pink Panther himself?? Killing it on the banjo?? Count me in. And the dude from Letterman! So many random people playing with the legend that is Earl Scruggs. Wrote this song in the 50s and performed it in the 2000s. So damn cool. I loved this so much lol

This song came out in 1971. Recorded shortly before Jim died in Paris in 71. "Mr. Mojo Risin' (an anagram of Jim Morrison) was supposedly the name he was going to use after he faked his own death, dropped out of the music biz, and headed out to live the rest of his life somewhere in Africa. I was lucky enough to meet John Densmore about 10 years ago. I also got to see Robbie Krieger play this song live a few years ago in Portland and again in January of this year at the Whiskey in L.A., where the Doors used to be the house band in the late 1960s. Great L.A. band!!!

We can never understand their initial impact. I wasn’t even born yet but I read things and speak to older people who say they couldn’t believe songs like this when it emerged. They’d never heard anything like it. Because of their unbelievable impact so many people copied or tried to copy their sound so flooded the market. But the Beatles carried on moving forward regardless And the yesterday and today album cover - that was them having a low key protest about the Vietnam war

I saw the Cure perform this cool and spooky song about a haunted forest live for the first time ever last year and it was epic. The whole show was awesome, mostly filled the band's darkest songs like this and "Disintegration" which is what I prefer. The played all their poppy hits in the last set. Just a great great band. Paul Rodgers is not only a great lead singer with Free and Bad Company, he is also a very talented all-around musician - on his first excellent solo album, he played all of the instruments like McCartney did on his first album. Rodgers also played in another super group with Jimmy Page in the 1980s called "The Firm," which put out only two albums by design. I saw them on their second tour and they were awesome. Rodgers also played with Queen after Freddy Mercury died. Great stuff! Dude should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! My favorite BadCo song is "Electric Land," which has the same cool and strange vibe like the song "Bad Company"

Wow...Lee...Dude! Going straight from "Wuthering Heights" to "The Ninth Wave"? Well done sir! I had thought that you might work your way through a few of Kate Bush's more famous songs before tackling this behemoth run of songs (or I should say piece - since it really is a single piece or cycle or suite of closely connected songs). But that you ran straight towards this is tremendous. "The Ninth Wave" is, for me, one of the greatest pieces of music in the entire Rock/Pop music genre and is part of one of the very few truly flawless albums "Hounds of Love", an album that for me can stand alongside any album made by anyone and hold its own against it. (I do think that when you do the second half of "The Ninth Wave" and come to "Hello Earth" the realization might well dawn on you that this is music from another dimension, or alternate universe, and might alter how you think of what popular music can sound like). "The Ninth Wave" really is one of those rites of passage experiences that is essential to truly getting to know Kate's music. To really test and challenge you another absolutely essential Kate Bush rite of passage is her entire album "The Dreaming" (1982) - but nothing, absolutely nothing prepares you for that wild untamed beast of an album.

If i had never seen the live Pulse version, i would love this. To be honest, compared to Pulse i would rate this for performance about 40% and maybe 30% for the music and vocals. If you havent seen the Pulse or earlier tours versions, late 1980's and 1994, then you havent seen Pink Floyd live, except Meddle ( and Echoes ) live in Pompeii 1971 is just as good.

Oh yes, a sensational album and one where she's really stretching out....while still managing to sound accessible. Much of it was recorded at her farm home in the English countryside, over a space of two years - it could never have been done under the constraints of two months' recording at a normal studio complex. And the first side (yes, I heard this as an LP at the time) is even more epic! That one will blow you away I think... :) Looking forward to this one. 👋
