As for "Superstition" and "I Wish"? Both great...with Superstition being a classic ❤❤❤

I can tell Will Smith sampled this song, called Wild Wild West.

Great reaction! in the first, Stevie uses a vocoder. He was a pioneer in the 70s for the use of electronic sounds and to shake up the codes of "black" music at that time. He played all the instruments on the three songs except the horns on "Superstition" and "I wish". He arranged all his songs and produced everything himself. There is so much material to discover. "Higher Ground", "Sir Duke", "Master Blaster", "Isn't she lovely", "Signed sealed delivered", Part time lover"... and all his albums from the 70s are fabulous (he won the grammy best album each time) A living legend. 🙏

I would also recommend "Pastime paradise" which is in fact the original of "Gangsta Paradise" by Coolio. He was a big influence for rappers in the 90s-2000s. 👍

Superstition was co-written with jeff beck. Jeff Beck was almost first to release the song, but ended up with stevie releasing the song first.

@user-dy2zj4zr8e Not true. During a recording session Beck was riffing on the drums. Stevie Wonder liked what he was hearing and asked Beck to keep playing while Wonder improvised on the synthesizer and came up with the melody and some rough lyrics. Prior to the recording session, Beck had asked Wonder to write a song for him; that was going to be Superstition until Berry Gordy and Wonder realized what a big hit it was going to be. So, Wonder recorded and released it for himself. Later, Beck released a cover. You can read the story of the Superstition's creation on the American Songwriter website. The article is, "Behind Stevie Wonder’s Classic Superstition, Initially Meant for Jeff Beck".

Others Stevie' s songs I suggest are As, That girl, Send one your love, Ribbon in the sky, but all his production deserves a listen..

As for the meaning of the lyrics in Superstition: Stevie did not believe in superstitions. The lyrics are mocking people who do. In an interview appearing on the NPR website, The Story Of Stevie Wonder's 'Talking Book' (December 30, 2000), Wonder said, "I think that the reason that I talked about being superstitious is because I really didn't believe in it. I didn't believe in the different things that people say about breaking glasses or the number 13 is bad luck, and all those various things. And to those, I said, 'When you believe in things you don't understand, then you suffer.'"
What is truly amazing to me -- something that I keep having to remind myself of -- is that Stevie wrote Superstition and his masterpiece album Songs in the Key of Life (which includes I Wish) when he was between 22 and 26 years old (1972 and 1976 respectively).

He used a vocoder or autotune and that was a synthesizer.

The original song doesn’t have robot voices. I don’t know why. This is getting weirder by the minute.

First song: one of the few weak songs in his vast catalog. A better choice would have been "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" or "As" or "Living for the City" because "I Just Called..." pales in comparison.

One of the best reaction videos on CZcams. You deserve more than a couple hundreds of views. I guess the title isn't helping on search (accurate tho). Finally a reactor who actually listens the songs. Great job
