Surprise, you beautiful people! I got obsessed with My Chemical Romance's new song "The Foundations of Decay", so much that I decided to cover it in my car. Enjoy! (the next one should be another studio-recorded cover).

This time, I decided to work solo. Only me and my car. I also did the mix, although I just used a few presets from the "Howard Benson Vocals" plugin, so bear with me if it doesn't sound as great as my wonderful sound engineer from the first video.

Better late than never: I just added subtitles to the video!
[EDIT: A lot of the lyrics are wrong by the way, see clarification at the bottom of this comment]
(Would've made sense to add subtitles from the start but I didn't think about it before my dad suggested it :p )
Also the content of the lyrics on most lyrics websites changed since I made this video (apparently "Only to watch the roots corrode" was "Only to watch the rooms corrode", and "Against all life" was actually "Against all odds"). I kept the lyrics as I found them back then, and as I sung them.
(EDIT : I recorded this a few days after The Foundations of Decay came out, and everyone was guessing the lyrics. The lyrics on all the websites were wrong, but that's what we had ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
By now, most sites have the right lyrics, but the ones I sung weren't the right ones, mostly for the chorus and breakdown, as mentioned by Gemin. R. in another comment. Anyway, I kept the wrong lyrics I sung in the subtitles, but they REALLY differ from the actual ones we now have.)

This is prolly the first time a cover gives me the exact same vibes as the original song, which does show that you can do some clean job with a minimal setup.

Haven't really done covers in the past year and a half but I'm gonna do more now that I have a suitable environment, I'm not immediately planning on more MCR because I don't wanna get locked into just doing that (even though they're my favorite band) but I'll definitely cover I Never Told You What I Do For a Living, Thank You for the Venom, Helena and/or Mama one of these days! Great cover. I do think it’s: “When the storm it gains, and the sky it rains…” a decaying storm wouldn’t flood but a strong storm gaining would. Also feel that’s the message by MCR, there’s a storm acoming. I can’t wait to hear more for ya. Subscribed.

The lyrics sites still indicate mostly what I put in this video, though I see Genius Lyrics updated theirs. Where did people find the official lyrics?
By the time I uploaded I knew the breakdown with the screams was wrong, I used the lyrics as I had them a few days after the song came out (I recorded this like a week or two after The Foundations of Decay came out I think, and everyone was just guessing the lyrics but we really don't hear them well in the song), and by the time I was done with the video people had already corrected part of the lyrics in the breakdown, but I sung them that way so I decided to keep it that way in the subtitles.
When I did the subtitles had to choose whether I wanted to put the correct lyrics, or those I had sung, and I decided to go with those I had sung.
I did the same in Fashion Statement actually, I believe the beginning of the song is actually "Do you remember that day", but I said "Do you remember back then', and had to keep it.
I didn't know for the chorus though :o It's so different from what I knew until now, I hadn't checked the updated lyrics.
