0:17 the fact that he grabs his arm in this remastered version is adding so much feeling to it
It really does. Prefer to have Roach react, as if he's asking 'what the hell are you doing?!' instead of just laying there like 'guess I'll die.'
@@Wintercomet100 It became clear that Shepherd betrayed them. It was more logical that he grabbed his arm with the last amount of his strength to stop Shepherd. I think holding Shep's arm was in character for a soldier to struggle till the end.
@@md.mazedulhaquerefat8585 Pretty sure that if Roach could have, he'd have probably tried to have gone for his side arm and shot Shepherd himself at that point, even though Shepherd's men would have stopped him (and of course, dev's story plot too).

Literally every character I trusted and loved: now this looks like a job for me
spoiler warning wouldve been nice
litterally every gta campaign has a betrayal
People here saying Micah's Betrayal should be here. Nah. The moment that should be here is the moment when Dutch walked away from Arthur while he was about to be stabbed by that guard. That one hurt
thats not really a betrayal more than it was dutch not trusting arthur. dutch thought arthur was betraying HIM
dude for real after that i got immideate hatred or dutch the rest of the game
@@user-go3nh9mz5i Arthur was with him for twenty years, they were like father and son. Arthur has always been loyal to him. Why would Dutch just leave him to die like he meant nothing to him? Dutch might not see it that way because he is delusional though, but he did betray Arthur in reality. But he didn't know it at the same time, he thought he was doing right by his code. I may be wrong, but Dutch is a really complex character so it's really hard to understand what he is.
@@lumbagolosis1899 same thing for John at the train robbery

Yep, Option 3 was the only option as far as I'm concerned. That last scene with the 3 as the car goes oops over a cliff ... very satisfying!
The game very cleverly makes you decide between betraying someone that doesnt deserve to be betrayed or doing the impossible. GTA Story mode is a masterpiece like the rest

Miss those days
Video games have a heavy amount of betrayal than most genres! You can't trust ANYONE. Great video.
didn't saw the Mafia one coming. That scene at the end totally broke my heart :(
The worst betrayal is if you stay a machine, instead of becoming a deviant, meaning you betrayed Hank
Logically if you stayed a machine you weren’t even his friend at all, in machine ending Connor had his mission from start to the end nothing changes. It’s Hank’s fault to see Connor as a human
@@kaantartan8668 It could probably be seen as a betrayal if you make deviant choices the whole game, become friends with Hank and then choose to remain a machine and kill Hank.
@@maxblack9419 well basically a machine is programmed to work like a friend, if connor stays as machine this means he acted like a friend to get results from the investigation. Even Hank knew that Connors emotions are fake he just believed him. Not his fault
@@kaantartan8668 I know. I never said it's an actual betrayal. I just said it could be seen that way.
If you want to get that platinum trophy, you have a do a bunch of things you’re not too proud of. I still haven’t recovered.

Oh my god thank you for including Last Light, I felt so legitimately hurt by that one
he's a communist, so I wasn't really shocked when he did that.
The thing about Dutch’s betrayal is that it’s a slow burn. It’s not one huge scene that shatters the player, it’s a buildup of Micah’s influence that eventually boils over in multiple scenes at the end of the game
Dutchs betrayal to Arthur when he left him in that building and then lied after and then on the mountain, rdr2 is my favorite game but man does it make me cry
The fact A Way Out isnt on this list is a betrayal to us fans
THANK YOU SOO MUCH FOR SAYING THAT
Agree. It could've easily replace either Rise of Tomb Raider of MK11, since the former comes from a character that only appeared in one scene prior to betrayal and players never got the time to give a shit about her, while the latter comes at the expense of horrible character assassination of a beloved by many fans character.
@@Ziomaletto they literally said over and over throughout the story that Shang Tsung would betray them at some point lmao everyone knew it was coming, we just didnt know when or how

The biggest one for me has gotta be in Bioshock when you find out Atlas is actually Fontaine and that he was pulling the strings all along and he was the real main antagonist of the game, not Ryan.
It was such a big plot twist to 15 year old me and made me really appreciate stories in video games that much more.
There ain't no Atlas, kid. Never was.
Not sure why but the first time I heard him he immediately triggered my bullshit alarm, no idea why
I didn’t click until you walk into the room near the end of the game with “Would You Kindly?” written on the wall. Like you said dude, a teenage little me just had his mind fucking blown.
me too, this game is wonderfull
Man why did u have to spoil it 😥
Betrayal hurts because it comes from your allies or people you loved and trust not the enemy
I know Mafia 3 wasn't a good game, but the first two hours were pretty much some of the best I've ever played. And the betrayal in the prologue was done so well. The whole cutscene, with the music, (paint it black) you could tell from the characters that they knew something wasn't right here and i was still so surprised about what happened. Even though the game was one boring grind, the cutscense and story were just a masterpiece.
Personally I like mafia 3 I love the story and how you slowly take over the city the characters are great and the dlc greatly improves the game but I can see how some found it repetitive. The way I see it is that mafia 3 was like watch dogs people where so disappointed they didn't give it a chance. I wish people weren't so quick to judge and gave things a chance

I know it's an old game but Yoshimo's betrayal in Baldur's Gate 2 was really something. You encounter this guy early on in a dungeon and he quickly becomes one of the most reliable assets in your adventures. He often talks with you and you end up really appreciating his input. Then one day you are captured and you realize Yoshimo led you all the way to the main antagonist. Having a companion character betray you in a D&D game was revolutionary at the time. There's also a rather cool redemption quest afterwards.
