Like that episode of family guy, there's a reference to Kevin Spacey and that was a long time before the news broke about him being a predator. They know. Some dare to call it out and others keep playing the game
When I was in high school, my closest friend who was openly gay said that he was chatting with Kevin Clash online. I said I didn't know who he was. He told me he is the guy that talks for Elmo and that were online friends and talked often. We were 15-16 at the time and I definitely thought it was very weird for an adult man to be so interested in a teenager. My friend insisted that there was no inappropriate behavior from 'Elmo'. I didn't think much more of it and he never brought it up again. Years later, way after we graduated and lost touch, I heard about the allegations of Kevin clash trying to groom young men online. I got chills and nauseous at the thought that my friend could have been a victim. We recently reconnected online within this last year. I'm scared to bring this up with him...

they're definitely should not be a statue considering how much research Has shown that most victims don't come out until they're in their thirties or forties. This law was put into place by predators clearly

This is heart breaking. I was molested/sexually abused by mu father when I was 3. He admitted to it but didn't have to serve a single second in jail. Didn't even have to register as an offender because of a "loophole". It's terrible. Sex crimes are just not taken seriously 💔

The statutes of limitations should be eliminated. Some victims don’t come forward for years due to the fact of the trauma and the amount of therapy. Not everyone talks about it right away. Shame and a lot of other feelings come that you can’t imagine. It’s truly sad. It def should be fixed somehow.
and regardless of when it happened, it happened. it still happened.
Certainly when it comes to sex abuse it should because in particular victims often take a long time to process what has happened to them.
Especially children since often they don't even know wtf happened to them, or they have a sense of "this is wrong" but blame themselves because as children we trust adults especially caretakers. It's disgusting!
You know that also protects you if you speak on past petty theft and shit? Laws exist for a reason. They just get abused. You could say you stole an etch a sketch when you were 4 and get put in cuffs.

Yes stealing an etch a sketch doesn’t cause trauma but if you remove the law saying you did will get you arrested. That’s the importance of the law. It’s gross that predators abuse it to their benefit but the law shouldn’t be outright abolished.

There should not be such a thing as statutes of limitations. This is such a big way to protect the predators. Sexual abuse of any kind or any age should be taken more seriously. Its frustrating when there has been faked reports making victims look like real liers. They should get jail time for that.

I even met my predator as an adult... She even admitted that she abused me to my own Mother at my graduation party. Some ppl are just truly evil in this world. I also was assulted later in my life.
