I'm a woman (former Director) who lost my entire career for reporting that my staff was being sexually harassed by the General Manager. Corporate HR came in, he admitted everything that they said he did and two weeks later the Area Director fired me for not getting along with the General Manager.
To this day I am banned from employment with the biggest funeral corporation in the United States.

I know what funeral corporation you're talking about - SCI (Service Corporation International). I was a funeral director for them 20 years ago and faced a similar situation. The assistant manager was sexually harassing young men employed at the funeral home. Long story short, the assistant manager was fired and then those he had pressured and harassed were fired one by one. They wouldn't fire me but made my job as a funeral director so incredibly difficult and stressful I resigned after a year of retaliation for supporting the young men against the perverted assistant manager. Truly sickening. Being banned from being employed at SCI is like a badge of honor. It's definitely not something to be ashamed of. The entire corporation is corrupt.
These are the stories I care about. With all due respect to any victim, but many are well-off and enjoy financial come-ups for speaking against powerful people…. Even powerful people whose behavior is benign to me.
Everyday people who get blacklisted are the ones we need to rally around with mass public support.
These high profile stories give us a false sense of change and justice while average people return to the same treatment. 🤷🏼♀️ 🤢

Same here. So many went under the radar. The job attracts a lot of narcissistic personalities tho. We really shouldn't be shocked at it.
Few personalities can withstand rejection, the pressure of fame, let alone the fickle nature of the 'adoring public' besides a narcissistic personality.
Thing is though, although they seem rather credible & well-informed, these exposés deliver little (but not nil) in terms of actual concrete evidence for us, the viewer.
@@heartslove8449 If you recall, I didn't say there was none, and I was talking specifically about this video (and perhaps others like it), not the extensive coverage from ten years ago. About that remark he made to Katie, I would agree, but just to play Devil's advocate, I'd say that would be pretty meager (although not invalid) evidence if taken on its own. But I'm not questioning the verdict. I just realize how easy it is to sway people's perception one way or the other, through the power of storytelling, imagery & editing.
From the time I was a child I told my mom I didn’t like Matt. I couldn’t pinpoint the reasons why at the time, but when the allegations came out and everything, it was like years of an underlying bad feeling just confirmed.

Until another large lie was confessed to, shattering his wife's worldview, she was brainwashed. It's entirely possible he actively manipulated her perception of his crimes. In my case, the wife was convinced that I'd been a teen and was trying to ruin their family with false allegations.

When I was a 15 year old girl I worked at a hospital through a school program, one day a dr called me in his office and asked me out, I told him I wasn’t aloud to date yet. It creeped me out so bad that every time I seen him my skin would crawl and I never told cause I was embarrassed.

I've been noticing this so much for people who've been accused of being sexual predators. I've been considering keeping a list of everyone who creeps me out, to see if my gut instinct is really that good.

These young women were old enough to say NO & to handle themselves properly in the business world. Maybe I've been watching too much true crime but if you have people already after you they can easily pose as these 'small' companies and send you harmful things. I was sexually assaulted as a 12 yo and was SO ashamed and the feeling of that plus embarrassment on top of disgust is so horrible. Long before the Me Too Movement Matt should have been fired the higher ups at many networks swept sexual misconduct under the carpet until the Me too Movement forced their hand. Why Matt isn't behind bars is also another sad example of how some predators are being protected others not.

No.....Doors with locks are not odd at all. All kinds of doors have all kinds of different locks and it’s just an office door with a lock that makes it easier to get inside the locked office and to let someone in without having to get up from your desk. I installed many kinds of locks on many different doors for many different places for many years.

I used to babysit the kids of one of the producers of the "Today Show ". This has been going on for a really long time & everyone knew. Crazy how no one did anything about it sooner.

I feel like if somebody has done a bunch of unforgivable and disgusting things, if they meet somebody after all of this and even sometimes during or before, and they find them attractive or they're into them than they think that they can fix that person. But time and time again shows that that really doesn't happen. There might be a case here and there where the person doing dirty changes their ways but nobody ever truly fixes somebody.
There have always been Women who Play the Game thinking they will share The Power only to realize they've been fools. Very grateful my Family taught us Al to stand up for ourselves and push back at anything like this. Teaching Our daughters to use their own voice and put a stop to this is the Key. I'll never forget the day he was exposed! It was my first day working for a company (a small subsidiary of NBC) in the Rockafeller building! The news was on all day, with employees glued to the TV. Just so wild.
I've always wanted to know this full story. I have a degree in journalism and used to look up to him as a journalist until these accusations came up and it's sickening all these men do this!!! I watched the Today show growing up, and then into my adult life. The first 🚩for me was comments Lauer made during Ann Couier's year as co-anchor and especially her last day of the show. But, I did begin to believe that Lauer was a sleaze after comments he made, on-air during interviews with Ann Hathaway, Miley Cyrus, and some other young female celebrities.
This really hits home for me. I was se****** assaulted by one boss when I was 19, and I was se****** harassed by another over and over again while we were alone in his car on long road trips to do the catholic funeral services. He was a funeral director who owned his own business, and I was his only worker. I only worked with him for a few months, because I had just left another mortuary service job that was beyond traumatizing and stressful (I was the office manager - ended up needing mental help because I was very traumatized by the amount that was put on my shoulders, and much much more that I don’t want to go into detail about), and I needed a temporary job before finding a better one. Now I’m at a great job with none of that BS going on. It’s amazing how it really is hard to be called into the office because of the previous experiences you’ve had. Even when your current boss is not a creep.
I absolutely would NOT be with someone like him! He literally repulses me. What he has done to these women is the worst thing someone can do to another human! As a survivor of SA/Rape I don’t think it’s ok to allow people like Matt to even be happy and live life guilt & care free . He doesn’t deserve happiness. He deserves to suffer as much as he made those women suffer and more.
Thank you Sloan for always bringing things like this to light! I’m from UK so never heard of this guy or this story! Sadly it didn’t shock me as I’m sure there are many more people in power still abusing what they hold over other people! Literally rinse and repeat when you think of the likes of Micheal Jackson, Jimmy Saville, Jeffrey Epstein. And the worst part is these people NEVER have to pay for what they did. They just move on and leave their victims in a life of suffering and turmoil.

The older I get, the more I see people ( men and women) who are nothing like who we think they are. They show a totally different person to most of the people around them. There’s only a few who know who they really are and what they’re like behind closed doors. They can fool even the most perceptive and observant people. Some have an initial gut feeling they ignore. I don’t ignore it anymore. There’s been times when something popped in my head about someone I was talking to. I’d get upset n wondering if I was crazy. Like, what a crazy thing to think. What’s wrong with me? Where did that thought come from? All these things running through my head at once. Only to eventually find out that so called crazy thought was 💯% right. It only happens once in a while but I’ve learned to trust that crazy thought that pops in my head for no apparent reason.
Thankfully the rules in the workplace have changed to help prevent this power play sexual misconduct.
Society wants women to be demure, polite, ladylike, feminine and and whatever other characteristics that make us submissive however, those days are organically ending. It takes time but, tick (phukin) tock….

Does anyone else remember him being in the first episode of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and he says something along the lines of "I'm always amazed by what womens will do to avoid being rude" in the creepiest way. Written as a joke but ended up being some foreshadowing.
They said it was the 1st complaint in 20 years. I bet there were tones of complaints but they went in one year and out the other. they were ignored.

This is 1 of many reasons why we need to STOP putting celebrities on a pedestal!! Im over famous people. I refuse to watch award shows of any kind anymore or really follow many celebs except for like my top 5 on social media.
