Not only has she been rude to stars and normal people, but she's also supported a toxic work environment and enabled producers to take advantage of staff. I think it'll hurt her sooner or later. She has staff in her mansion, property taxes, and a lot of expenses that add up quickly. If she isn't bringing in a salary anymore those millions are going to go quick. When you live big, it costs you big time. I think it'll just be a matter of time before she loses it all. Can't keep that kind of lifestyle up forever without constant cash flow

I stopped watching her before this came to light. I saw how she loved torturing people and embarrassing them with the games and the guests. She kept torturing Channing Tatum with a glass doll she knew he was terrified of. Then when i saw her came out with a gaming show i was like whoa! Now she really gets to have fun torturing people. Crazy! I loved her then saw the real her...

My 16 year old teen has always said Ellen doesn’t look like a nice person. Sometimes you could see her reaction when others are talking and It says it all. This is coming from her before Ellen was called out. Kudos to my teen!
Your teen and I were seeing the same thing then. I thought maybe Americans saw it as funny or normal (no disrespect we all have our culture and Hollywood has been different to me like forever). People seemed to love her on the show even after witnessing her being nasty. I often felt uncomfortable watching her interactions with others, I do not find belittling others funny my soul is to sensitive and I feel pain for others. The way she dismissed guests talking about their kids and when she called out that guest for taking more than one crappy corporate gift, calling her a thieve in front of everyone and making her sit in a cage for the remainder of the show. I watched her show sporadically but after that "thieve" show I stopped watching, it really upset me. She was only a super fan who wanted something extra for her family, it was breaking the rules but she was really mean to humiliate that lady like that. Her fame and money went to her head after all of her fans embraced her when Hollywood fired her for being gay.
I always had a bad feeling about her. Always thought she was mean spirited, even though she thought it was being funny.

She posted on her Instagram story about it and the shop got a lot of hate at first, she was going back and forth arguing with them. And then the shop got a ton of followers from the drama. Demi “apologized” but basically said she’s sorry she feels the way She does and is going to stand up for what’s right. The problem was she basically wanted the whole yogurt shop (that had been in business for decades) to change everything to suit her, when the point of the yogurt shop is to suit gluten free, diabetics, etc. The whole situation was selfish and privileged.

I remember when she performed her last stand up wrongfully named "Relatable". It bombed so badly because she truly became out of touch. She's done good with her platform but has managed to simultaneously cast a shadow over all that effort. I can't stand bougie people but especially those who've ended up in a place no longer "Relatable" because they've forgotten what it's like and decided to rank everyone else beneath them.
There are multiple studies that suggest that once someone becomes super-wealthy, their compassion for others decreases. It's possible Ellen was always an awful person, but it wouldn't be surprising if her immense wealth and success allowed her to grow less and less empathetic to those around her.

I didn’t get the hype with her show, the way she looked at everyone on the show was like she was repulsed by them, it was actually as clear as day, I was always uncomfortable watching the show because of that
I’ve never thought about that. I loved Ellen as a kid and thought that the disgusted look she would give people was probably just part of her television personality. I’m much older now and now that it isn’t just a face she does to add to the comedy, she’s just a truly awful person.

Russell Brand also called her out after being on her show. He was in the green room and chatting with the employees. Ellen walks in and screams at her staff for talking with Russell. Russell is obviously a very friendly and outgoing guy.
I'm not a fan of Russell Brand, but he's obviously chatty, and from what I've seen, he likes to talk to anyone about anything. It's ridiculous that Ellen was so desperate to be in control, she wouldn't let adults make their own decisions about who to chat to. I can't imagine being like that.

This is all so sad. For years i have been hearing horror stories about celebrities and other Hollywood people.

Don't forget how she treated a translator!! I can't remember specifics, I think there was like a child prodigy on the show who played an instrument, and he only spoke mandarin I think? So there was a translator there and Ellen yelled at her, "You only have to ask him one thing why are you saying so much!!" like god how fucking privileged and rude can you be to not realize exact translations and translation in general is fucking hard and languages are different!! That was the moment along with her trying to get a pregnant celeb to drink {bc celeb wouldn't say if she was pregnant or not) that made me hate Ellen. The LGBT does not claim her lmao
Ehhh, i see your point, but in reality the girl was not translating well for a tv show, meaning she was forgetting to translate at times etc. when you dont speak a language, you cant hear spaced in between words how you do with the language you do speak, thus ellen asking why are you saying so much, because to her it really sounds that way. I do not like Ellen, but that girl was not up to par for translating on tv and I can understand the fustration there, but she should be annoyed by her producers who found the translator, not the girl herself.

The only thing I personally can understand is the eye contact thing. For me I hate eye contact because I’m so socially anxious to the point that even something as universally known as respectful in the US as eye contact is intimidating to me. In my defense I didn’t get proper care as an infant, which caused my interpersonal problems. I spent my first three years in a Romanian orphanage basically in a crib alone. My brain is literally not wired the same way as other people’s brains. I know eye contact is expected and is what’s respectful in the US, but I’m incredibly nervous and anxious when i make eye contact with someone or when they address me by my name. It’s so seemingly simple but for me it’s genuinely scary. I don’t know what Ellen’s excuse is with eye contact but I promise you, my lack of eye contact isn’t me trying to be better than you. I’m literally just intimidated and feel small. I’ve been working on it for YEARS and I’m getting so much better at it but it’s still so so so uncomfortable for me.

sadly Mariah lost her baby soon after. That's why she didn't announce it, she was waiting until she had her first scan. it was so traumatic for Mariah, i really felt for her.
And I felt really guilty watching the interview of Miley Cyrus on her show and she was very visibly uncomfortable, and squirming, repositioning talking about her relationship with Justin Gaston back in the day. I thought of how i would feel being pressured on cable tv to talk about something not public.. Maybe im wrong because I have no idea how she feels, or what she was thinking in the interview, this is my pure speculation on my part.

I have an ED and any comments about what/how much I eat will literally affect my entire week. I really hope those crew members didn’t struggle with the same thing, because that would be so triggering. And in a work environment. I couldn’t imagine.

@@RedRoseSeptember22 i think you should've ended the sentence before the comma. it is the workplace responsibility to maintain a healthy work environment, both physically and mentally. and telling someone to limit their food intake isn't even just about person triggers, it's disrespectful, rude, and wrong. food intake isn't even the key to weight loss. just eat normally. do exercise, take a walk, clean around your house. simply being active burns calories and fat. and if you eat too little, your body will eat your muscles away, and you can become obsessed and end up developing an eating disorder. this is common sense.
Some peoples issues are also triggerd by sects. I knew a girl who couldn’t be around tomatoes and garlic. Throwing up, headaches the whole deal. If she didn’t want fish around well her set...

I think there was the ring of truth in what Sloan said about Ellen being an unhappy person who shifts her negatively onto others. She may have adopted her catchphrase "Be kind to one another" because on a subconscious level she knows she isn't a person who is kind to others. Ellen DeGeneres seems to be a troubled person, with a phobia about germs. What did she go through in her early life to come to have these feelings? Perhaps it's for us, the viewers, to be truly kind to people and that includes being kind to Ellen.

I thought I was one of those who would have a hard time accepting that Ellen might not be as kind as she seems.because I really loved Ellen! I have found that she shows the world that sexual orientation does not matter, and she has really included her audience. I love when she dances around with them, and she seems to love everyone. when I think about it, it is psychopaths who often go a long way unfortunately. it's just reading psychology, you usually see that not all managers and the like are really smart, and that's why they were able to run over people to get far in their careers.

My Aunt and uncle owned a film store in Hawaii for over a decade. Ellen came in with her wife and threw a childish fit when they didnt have a specific type of film she was looking for. They offered to overnight the film for her but she stormed out. This was over 13 years ago. I guess she hasn't changed much.
