Elon Musk's newest venture, Neuralink, aims to bridge the gap between humans and artificial intelligence by implanting tiny chips that can link up to the brain. At a press conference on July 16, Neuralink's ambitious plans were detailed for the first time, showcasing a future (a very distant future!) technology that could help people deal with brain or spinal cord injuries or controlling 3D digital avatars.

To call Musk a 'charlatan' and dismiss the incredible innovations that have arisen from the work of his companies is naïve. Yes, he has his faults but don't dismiss his work because of them.
The success of SpaceX was heavily responsible for the blooming of the Private space sector, an industry that is now worth billions. The rockets they created essentially quartered the price of flights and, as I mentioned, this has now fueled investment in many other private space companies. Which part of this isn't impressive innovation?
As for Tesla, yes it operates at a loss most of the time but don't be so foolish as to say that makes his work a failure. Question the company all you want, but the work of Tesla showed that there was consumer demand for electric cars and has been responsible, at least in part, for rapidly advancing the advent of more electric cars in other companies; for instance, Mercedes, VW, etc. who have all announced new fleets of electric cars. As for the claim of the company's origins - yes, he didn't start it and yes, he took over it. But to say he 'pushed them out' in a Zuckerbergian way seems like a gross exaggeration. Investing in companies and taking ownership over them is how business works. Don't say he is a bad businessman and then criticise him for making good business decisions in the same breath!
His success in innovation also goes far beyond those main two companies I just mentioned - e.g. with his work in SolarCity, OpenAI, Neuralink.

What he says is you cannot beat A.I and the only way for human civilasation to stay around is to be important even though we would deem to have very little intelligence, what he wants to do, in order to keep civilisation is by getting humans super-human cognitive abilities. In doing so he created this and interface for humans and A.I, its very esoteric. The man is thinking a head of the curve for the sake of humans. It's scary but it's the only option. By creating an interface with humans and A.I.

This is the opposite of AI. It eliminates AI and thats for the large part the reason that he wanted to do this. (Is what he said anyway) AI is artificial intelligience. This is basically just a translator with prewritten scripts. It doesnt have the conciousnes that elon fears in AI. It doesnt have a way to develop itself, it doesnt have any power or possibility to gain power on its own or even with the help of other things. Its just a tool at highly complex levels that detect and send out actual intelligience thats human instead of artificial.
Not only that, this, if it works and is affordable, would instantly throw out half of the AI in our world because AI would become useless in many cases.

Albert Twangle it doesn’t work that way, the emotional version of you is the limbic system deep in your brain where as the cortex (the logic part) is the prefrontal cortex which is easy to access and won’t harm you, it’s mainly for those who suffer from paralysis, Alzheimer’s, etc.
