    Thank you. I’ve purchased two CFexpress A cards but only 128GB each but also have two each CFexprice A for my two A1’s so I can share them with other cameras. As backup I have pairs of V90 cards for each camera. Tend yo use only ProGrade Cobalt cards for each type but also have some Sony Tough cards.

    which card would you use for time-lapse for astrophotography?

  • @RealThore

    When I got my a7iv I bought Kingston UHS2 V90 cards for pretty much 1€/GB. I’ve tried now the PNY UHS2 V60 cards which are 50€/256gb so basically the same price as the Sandisk cards and I’m pretty happy. Ofc if I‘d just hold down the shutter for multiple seconds the Kingston would be better but in a normal use scenario the PNY are great

    • @MagicWeddingPhotographer
      @MagicWeddingPhotographer  Před rokem

      that's a great price for 256GB V60 UHS2!

    • @RealThore
      @RealThore Před rokem

      @@MagicWeddingPhotographeryep and no issues at all. Have had good reliability with PNY SSDs so I’m pretty positive about that and if one would fail there’s still redundant shooting in camera

  • @rde316
    @rde316 Před 2 měsíci

    To be fair I shoot stills and I think the SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC cards are good. I have tested my 256GB cards with BlackMagic Speed Test and it shows write speeds of 139MB/s and the 128GB cards show 90MB/s on the write test. Sure the other cards are probably quicker but then you pay a lot more for them.

  • @wildeyedphotography
    @wildeyedphotography Před 7 měsíci

    Thanks for all the info. Do you think if I used the Cf Type A cards in the main slot but had it backing up to a fast SD in the second slot, this would create a bottleneck? Do both cards need to be equally fast? or is the main card slot the most important?

  • @Walter_Kircher
    @Walter_Kircher Před 28 dny

    Do I understand it correct... as example the SD card V60... 45 RAWs + then 25 seconds for fully clearing buffer. Does that mean that before you have full speed for all 45 RAWs, camera does not slow down shooting frequency? 🙏

    I have a bunch of photos taken with my 7RM5 which take FOREVER to load on my iMac - now that I am watching your video it occurs to me it may be the card. How can I tell if it i the card, LR or the computer? 3:56

    • @Rocky-AR
      @Rocky-AR Před 11 měsíci

      Do the photos load slow with the card connected to the computer? After you transferred the photos, are the photos still loading slow in LR and/or on the iMac?

    • @marianneattoun5798
      @marianneattoun5798 Před 11 měsíci

      @@Rocky-AR Thanks for the reply. Actually, I first usually use a card reader to copy the card to an external drive. I then import the photos to LR either from the external drive or the internal drive on the iMac. I think it may be the computer because I uploaded the same photos to my MacBook Pro & they were loading just fine. I am using Delkin 128GB cards mostly, some 64GB & I run duplicate slots.

    If u live in China u can get many third-party CFeA cards with either 160Gb@720Mb/s or 512Gb@390Mb/s for 130 USD, or 1Tb@800Mb/s for 260 USD.

    I bought the sony tough cards and they would shut my imac down whenever I tried to use them, I contacted sony and they wouldn't do anything about it, so in the end I had to purchase a different make, not exactly good customer service from sony

    I’m mad at Sony for not adding CF express type B card slots to Sony a1. Type A is ridiculously expensive and 2 times slower

    • @MagicWeddingPhotographer
      @MagicWeddingPhotographer  Před rokem +4

      It has it advantages though. One being ability to have it as reverse slot SD/CF-A - that is very convenient. Also CF-B cards produce way more heat, which could also be a major factor when designing current cameras for Sony

    • @mickue

    The listing clearly shows 140Mb/s write speed, but you keep saying it’s been 90 for years 🥲

    • @MagicWeddingPhotographer
      @MagicWeddingPhotographer  Před rokem

      yeah, sorry for that - I mean that the write speed is the same like in the 95's that we had for years! They keep bumping the numbers on the front, which is sadly just a read speed

    • @laurencewhite4809
      @laurencewhite4809 Před 6 měsíci

      The write speed is clearly 140mb/s, not 90.
