    That looks cracking.
    By the way, if I'm using spray glue I find it useful to have a newspaper down - open the first two pages, spray, flip a page for a fresh surface. That way the flock doesn't stick and it's much quicker than disposing of the newspaper a couple of sheets at a time and replacing 'em. [However, I appreciate that you're v. busy but still manage to chuck out these tutorials! Amazing. Thanks, Mel.]

    Steel wool could be usable, too. I used it for smoke and fire balls and thinned the wool a bit out. The very positive aspect is, that steel wool is very sturdy and comes in big packs for very few money. And yes, you can clean everything up with it, after messing around with glue etc. ;)

    Impressive result for such unpromising material terrain tutor!
    Has anyone seen great foliage for willows??
    QUESTION - WEEPING WILLOW TREE As you know the willow's branches are like drooping canes and leaves are like bunches of long & thin palm fronds on two sides of the hanging canes.Siflor alfalfa looks good - a string of long static grass on two sides. Maybe stick some along the whip-like branches individually ? Expensive & fiddly... Or try and apply some long static grass individually to the long canes? But how to control the attachment of the grass to the canes, I doubt I can get each blade of grass stick in the same direction - would need to apply static electricity which is getting ridiculous :) I'm more of a fan of foliage over flocking but haven't seen foliage that would work on a willow tree...
    What does your modeller's brain say??

    • @TheTerrainTutor
      @TheTerrainTutor  Před 8 lety

      +Vikki Wilson Couldn't you used combed cotton wool draped over armatures, then sprays with pva, then flock it?

    Probably the fastest easiest method so far. Looks a little bit too solid for like, 28mm for my taste, but for anything much smaller it'd be perfect, and most importantly, fast and easy.

    • @TheTerrainTutor
      @TheTerrainTutor  Před 8 lety

      +Mooncabbage It's about as solid as them come but I reckon with a good amount of sealing, they'd be good club trees as they'd take some hammer mate

    You ''can'' do foam and superglue... But its quite messy because the foam tends to suck up the glue which leads you to need alot of it and then you are basically trying to make a sponge full of superglue stick to something that is not fingers.

    • @TheTerrainTutor
      @TheTerrainTutor  Před 8 lety

      +Irtehdar I'm sure you could in hindsight but I really wouldn't want to, I'd end up with more foam on my fingers than on the tree knowing me lol

      @nylandria Před 8 lety +1

      +TheTerrainTutor A mix of different terrains you thought would work well in that kind of setting. I'm pressed for storage space and want to try and diversify my terrain to give an interesting look but doesn't require too many "sets" of terrain. I'm pretty sure I want a gallows but I am trying to think of other varied things to mix in with it. Guess i'm trying to say I am not wanting just a ton of buildings.
