AN EYE!! There was also a controversy with them where they repeatedly copied or, took a lot on inspiration from the band twenty one pilots. some examples of this are when:
tøp released a dark themed video with a burning car and kind of dark clothing, and later the chain smokers released a teaser image that looked stranger similar to the pilots music video.
for their song sick boy, it seemed very similar to the songs made by the pilots- the way he manipulated his voice, the music video set up, etc.
then, they went on to release a song that sounded very similar to the song “jumpsuit” by twenty one pilots which was the first single released off of their new album.
for the chain smokers era or whatever- this is what sent me- they posted a picture of an EYE ON THEIR INSTAGRAM STORY TO BE CRYPTIC! AN EYE!! Now, anyone in the clique surely knows this, but tyler and josh did the same thing a year before and started their little hiatus by eyes closing and opened up the eye to end it. the one the chain smokers posted looked really similar to the one the pilots used to open theirs.
they also themed their new album around yellow and tigers- right after twenty one pilots themed THEIR album around yellow and used an animal as a sort of staple in it- a cheetah.
