From Italy: In the 60s I learned to play the guitar, both solo and rhythm, thanks to the Shadows. Besides, Hank taught many guitarists who later became famous; his playing, his touch of the strings, are inimitable and unmistakable. Even today the music of the Shadows arouses emotions. Thanks forever.
Pascal BURIAND Merci Pascal. Gros bisous.
All the members of this group are extremely talented musicians and put them together they were unbelievable. I used to listen to all the heavy rock in my younger years but I recently rediscovered the shadows and those guitar licks of Hanks with vibrato and delay keep running through my head. Simply the G.O.A.T instrumental band perhaps just the greatest band there ever was. This is the music that takes you on a journey as it’s so pleasing to listen to. 👍👍👍

People very often praise guitarists like Clapton, Page, Jimi Hendrix, to mention but a few, but Hank Marvin is hardly ever mentioned , but he is a really fine and very talented guitarist in his own right.
that's only because he is different his style is more based on melody then soloing or scale running. his guitar is the singer basically. hank marvin the first guitar hero. my hat goes off to this man and the band. I am a street performer and I play there music and I just started a shadows band aswell. it is real music, music that makes people happy.
@@dionermen842 Best of luck to you and your band mate!![...in the 60's a band was exactly that.... a band.... ...brass!!...we were called "Pop Groups" "Rhythm Groups" "Rock Groups".."Rhythm n' Blues Groups"...but NOT BANDS!]..times change, but I am pleased there are people like you Dion, who still carry on the love of the Shads to the people on the street!
The Shadows' sound is impeccable. They are all superb musicians and Hank Marvin has defined their sound with his use of the tremolo constantly in his right hand as he plucks the guitar strings. So perfectly clear and artful. He is wonderfully supported by the precision of the others. This band is all about precision timing. Brilliant.
The Shadows is my idol group i enjoy listening their music specially the Apache during my youth days i am now 76 years old still listening to the music of the SHADOWS
I'm 75 and remembering all these wonderful songs and great instrumental arrangements. Well done to you all. This is the second time of watched this concert. Fabulous! Thanks so much.
Started listening to the Shadows in early 1960's.and 60 years later they're still as good as ever.No band has stood the test of time like they have.Magnificent! So many great memories of my youth,🙂
Still great these guys! Still a great pleasure to hear - and see - this band. I loved her back in the 1960s til today!!!
@@mickbright8454 My brother was born with Spina Bifida and was unable to play sports. So he bought a guitar and taught himself to play all the shadows tracks. He and his wife went to more than a hundred of the Shadows' shows and were invited backstage to meet them. Bruce Welch also visited them at their home in Uxbridge in London. He turned up in his huge Mercedes and almost took out the gate post. My brother would have turned 78 this month but he passed away six years ago. I'm glad to see that you are still playing the Shadows' music.
Im nearly 60 and I have never seen this guy miss a note. I have heard it said that simple bright clean music is the very hardest to do as there Nowhere to hide. Shadows music is the epitome of this. Im glad you guys made a bunch of cash using hard work dedication and skill enriching the lives of millions for decades.
It is NOT just "classical music". :) We were all taught in music school the development of musicianship, that is being able to play "musically" is developed first and foremost, through being able to play a single line melody with as much grace as a singer would sing it. Especially with slower tunes, ballades, etc. Classical and jazz guitarists learn this "the hard way". :) There is no disputing that what Hank plays is technically simple and easy to learn. But from the original recordings 60 years ago, to ALL of the films on YT in which he plays these pieces....he NEVER deviates from what he has done and always plays these songs the same way - -and with absolute precision. You are correct....people do not comprehend how good someone has to be to be THAT "consistent". Excellent observation. :)

What an incredible and unforgettable band one of my favorites when I was a teenager in the 60's. For a short time I had a band and the songs of The Shadows were with which I started my path in music, which was interrupted when I entered university and then I was for more than 40 years in the world of work as a Software Engineer. Now that I am recently retired, I have bought a humble Squier Stratocaster and have started to pick up this beautiful path starting with the songs of this master that is Hank Marvin and his wonderful band. Life is just beginning in my early 70s. Thanks The Shadows for the inspiration.
If you want that sound and that tone you must get a Vox amp! They are using the Vox Ac30. But the smaller Vox amps can make the signature tone as well.
Absolutely magnificent, they have got to be one of the greatest bands of all time. Loved them when I was a young boy and they still send shivers down my spine, bring back the 50's 60's music today's music is second rate.
As usual the brilliant Hank Marvin, the best in the world. Hank how do you make it look so easy. ? The best of the best guitarists by a country mile. So clear so distinctive sound. You just can't buy it. It's God given talent.
SUPER, SUPER CHINGONES; YO LOS ESCUCHO DESDE MIS 18 AÑOS, AHORA TENGO 73 AÑOS, Y A LA FECHA LOS SIGO ESCUCHANDO COMO EN MIS TIEMPOS DE MI JUVENTUD DE GRATOS RECUERDOS, DIOS ME LOS SIGA BENDICIEND .... SALUDOS DESDE MI MÉXICO LINDO Y QUERIDO .... Y VIVA MÉXICO CABRONES !!!! 🇲🇽🇲🇽

I’m nearly 70, I first listened to the shadow in 1964. To this day I continue to be mesmerised by their guitar playing ability. I was privileged to have met and shaken Hanks hand in Perth WA. A man who is so humble I have never met. As far as I’m concerned Eric Clapton, Jimmy Hendrix run only a close second to Hank.
You're the best ! I'll never forget you.
Pierrot
Wow, so many memories of my younger years, I actually love and appreciate them more now as I realise what great musicians they are, only improving (if that's possible) with age and experience. I saw them live (with Cliff) at the London Palladium in the early 60s, my first time at a theatrical musical performance and was blown away. I would go anytime to see them live again, if they still perform.
Brilliant just brilliant you have to remind people what the music was like when these guys started they were a revelation then and it's stood the test of time.

Bruce how can I ever forget your great rythem & the bassist love you guys right from the 60s.
Wow‼️ .Great playing. A wonderful old song...

People very often praise guitarists like Clapton, Page, Jimi Hendrix, to mention but a few, but Hank Marvin is hardly ever mentioned , but he is a really fine and very talented guitarist in his own right.
The Best the others follow
hes the best
that's only because he is different his style is more based on melody then soloing or scale running. his guitar is the singer basically. hank marvin the first guitar hero. my hat goes off to this man and the band.
@@highpitwilma thats weird because as far as i know my dad always called it a band. I know they where called groups thpugh too..
Brilliant.
Monikie Douglas Yes, they are brilliant! I totally agree with you.
Sorry for the late comment.
Good memories for you!
Fantastic band, NEVER beaten.
@@arthurhoward7843 Yes of course!
Started listening to the Shadows in early 1960's.and 60 years later they're still as good as ever.No band has stood the test of time like they have.Magnificent! So many great memories of my youth,🙂
Ventures
Every good!!
A sound so clean it could perform surgery - such a class act
Still great these guys! Still a great pleasure to hear - and see - this band. I loved her back in the 1960s til today!!!
The Shadows, what a great bunch of guys, brilliant music, head & shoulder's above the rest. What a crowd . Long may they reign supreme.
Amazing technic❣ Not only technic for guitars but also drum is wonderful ‼
Grew up listening to the Shadows in the 70s. Still sounding great in the years 2000s, infact this year 2023. Love the music by the Shadows...
I have every single Shadows record they ever produced. I'm 74 years old and still enjoy that clean crisp magic sound. THIS is music.
I'm 79 and still playing this great music in my band.
I am from Turkey,ı am still listen them every day half or one hour in a day
This music and the memories attached with it is like looking at one sunset after another....
I had a few Whiskies, my wife came home and the laptop and speakers had us dancing to it again!!
Interesting..
THESE PLAYING WIZARDS NEVER LOSE THEIR WIZARDRY AFTER ALL THE YEARS!!! IM 76 BUT ENJOY THOSE TUNES I USED TO AIR OVER THE AIRWAVES!!!

Bonjour
Bingo. I am 72. I know what you are talking about.
Eternal! Love those guys ❤ I'm 66, and hope to listen to them as long as I live or even more...
Ok
If you want that sound and that tone you must get a Vox amp! They are using the Vox Ac30. But the smaller Vox amps can make the signature tone as well.
Classy Rock men how they dress, elegant and great, i love the rock and roll
Absolutely magnificent, they have got to be one of the greatest bands of all time. Loved them when I was a young boy and they still send shivers down my spine, bring back the 50's 60's music today's music is second rate.
Ditto
Perhaps even better the second time. WOW ❤ Thanks for coming back.
Figyeld meg ahogy játszanak...ÖRÖMZENE!!🤗👏👍❤
BINGO. I am the same age as you. This is OUR MUSIC! Bravo. From Cape Town.

De l instrumental a la guitare qui me touche toujours autant...Présent à leur concert à l Olympia en 1962,avec les copains de mon groupe "The men of Mystery" .Nous avions fabriqué nos guitares électriques nous memes
avec l aide de mon père qui m'a conçu un ampli à lampes...Trop bonnes ces années soixante.;;
A truly experienced English instrumental group! Great professional polished sound. It doesn't get any better. Awesome!
Anthony Joseph Lucchese
Unbelievable, after 50 years, just as good as ever and they can still fill a massive venue such as this one.
Filled to the rafters, so to speak and, well-behaved and appreciative!!! The Spectacular Shadows!!!
The Shadows Forever Young. Absolutely uncontested.
They have class!!
my 83 y/o dad's favourite band......
I keep loving them since
My school years and I'm over 70.
Just turned 70, and this makes me feel like I'm 15 again growing up with the Shadows and all those wonderful '60's groups.
As a guitarist of 60+ years ... I LOVE that an instrumental group can draw a crowd that big!! FUN city!
Brilliant just brilliant you have to remind people what the music was like when these guys started they were a revelation then and it's stood the test of time.

Absolutely brilliant sound they seem to never miss a note or a beat and the quality of there music has stood the test of time.
The BEST instrumental group in the the history of the UK - period !
Agreed, and America's Ventures come a rather poor second .
i would argue with you as i think the rapiers from around 1983+ are the best (look them up) BUT enjoy your music !
Make that the world
@STEEVB51: _"The BEST instrumental group in the the history of the UK - period !"_
Surely you meant 'exclamation mark', not 'period'.
….in the world !
Wow, The Shadows Fantastic concert LG Elisabeth.
and wish you a nice Sunday.🌞🎶🎶🎧
Thank you from all heart!🤝💖🎼
❤with love from Russia, Sankt-Peterburg☀️
What I love about this is the complete simplicity of each individual's playing into a perfect blend of complexity..
