I've had one for 50 years, and recently passed it on to my oldest grandson. Bought it in Switzerland. My grandson will get many more years of use from it.

Use it a lot and it's got me out of a few scrapes. Fabulous knife. SAK as you say worth every penny, I've had the champ for nearly 20 years, well used, I bought Edyta the huntsman about 10 years ago and ended up liking that size better, bought the same blue one as yourself last year, Evertonian aren't I. 😂 Well worth spending the dosh where these are concerned. Couldn't believe how that blade folded back.🤬 Awful that.👍🏻

I have a couple of German army SAK's, the newer one is basically the Ranger (I think it's called that). If you want to save money I think that is probably the way to go. 11 quid 😂I am sure you could get something as good from the pound shop. Certainly couldn't be much worse. Thanks for the video Andy. My SAK Huntsman was less than £20 on Amazon a couple of years ago. Not exactly expensive. I've seen a number of negative reviews of Kombat UK products. That knife looks extremely dangerous. Caveat emptor!!

TBH part of the appeal of buying these cheap folders and multi tools is the gamble. You occasionally get a reasonable one and you have beat the odds as it were, you buy the next one and it's a total dog, you promise you won't waste your money anymore but........ You can get an SAK Camper for say £16 if you shop around, no gamble!!!
Great review although honestly it was a foregone conclusion, the SAK is going to win, but it's good to show people just how atrocious some of those cheap pocket knives out there are. SAKs are amazing value for money. The minimum wage in Switzerland is 25 Swiss Francs an hour, which is the price of a decent SAK like the ones you have, or the Super Tinker for example! In Switzerland you pay that for a medium pizza and a can of coke. I don't know how they do it. I own 10 of them.

The Kombat is not for me, However, if I couldn't afford a SAK or Cross I may have to look for another. The Kombat is a no, just on the blade being too loose, it will only worsen with use. I would rather give on a feather and pay less. I have a few $5 knives that have daily hard uses and 10, 12, years and the blades are still good, and safe. Now, I have a friend who worked at Cross in advertising, I have a few that he gave me still in the box. I'll do a short vid.
