Are girl altar boys allowed to wear a cassock & surplice??? I thought that was only allowed if they are in the choir. Not the choir of the Altar but the scola choir. Black dress shoes only should be worn so as not to be a distraction.

There is only one proper, reverent placement of the hands: Altar servers, lectors, deacons, priests, bishops should all, without exception, assume the reverent posture. The laity are watching all of these goings on and they, being already poorly formed, will dumb down their own hand’s posture by clasping their fingers and hanging them down to their waists or lower. It contradicts the infallible words of pope Innocent IV of women and those unsanctified entering the sanctuary or touching the Altar. Anybody who contradicts these words is Anathema.
