A smooth landing is not necessarily a safe landing. Especially in a wet or snowy environment, it is much safer and thus better to slam the aircraft down a bit, as to create grip for the tires as early as possible to make braking easier. This landing wasn't a particularly hard one, it was just fine for the conditions. Also _very_ far from structural damage to the aircraft.

Weird considering the McDonnell-Douglas MD-11F is a 2 man crew plane...the only thing I can imagine was the crew a (out-bound) brought crew b for the in-bound flight.
Sometimes cargo flights travel the load master, flight engineer or mechanic, and this is a flight of many hours, therefore, travel 2 extra crews to replace

Could be yes. LH and LH Cargo have a lot of young crew members because they come strait out of there aviation school.
Doesn´t matter, its a cargo flight. The main thing is not to miss the touchdownzone.

This was probably a check flight, as you could see the FO was very young and it is very likely that this was (one of) his check ride(s) on the MD-11.
