I´m not disrepecting the people you call "lower rank" but I just fell the urge to throw up when I read comments like yours

I can't recall how many times I've done that with cars 😅 Of course this is just my layman understanding. I would love to be corrected.

    • @bcn1gh7h4wk

      @@TheMasterMief more often than not the first thing you should try is to reset the sensor to make sure it's not a false reading.
      that goes for anything that involves using readings to control something else... if you see a measurement that doesn't look right, you can always refer to one fixed point and measure again through another path, by adding or subtracting other measurements.
      and if you don't trust that fixed point, that fixed point is on Earth... and Earth can be measured all the same.
      that's the basics of navigation, and it's been working for 5000 years, so if it works for sailors and pilots, it sure will work for anyone else taking measurements.

    Well lets all admit, this sure beats working for a living. I have been a virtual pilot on FS2, FS4, and FSX for quite a few years, and looking at this video, makes me realize how I wish my life would of been perfect, sitting on that left seat. And especially with a such a competent, and beautiful co-pilot. At least I have my health, and my faithful dog next to me. Could be worse...

    • @jeanyonsei2318
      @jeanyonsei2318 Před 7 lety +7

      I'm exactly at the same position, not taking into account the health part that I don't have as much as you do, I estimate that for every pilot flying there might be dozens of ones like us that didn't achieve it

    • @bullittfanatic
      @bullittfanatic Před 7 lety +10

      It is a reality that many people could not reach their goal in life of being either a private, or commercial pilot.
      Your estimate might be quite correct on the ratio.
      Even worse, many people have a job that they don't like.
      But at least they have job, that pays those never ending bills.
      It is comforting to know that I am not alone with those feelings, and that you are at the exact position as me, regarding our dream of being pilots.
      At 55 years old, out of a job, and practically broke, my Flight Simulator 2002-4 and FSX, are the closest I will ever be of that lost dream.
      The bad part in your reply, is that you mention some health issues.
      You make me realize how much we take health, way to often for granted.
      It also makes us reflect on this given gift.
      I wish I had a "magic wand" so that I could send you a clean bill of health, through my keyboard.
      And also make you appear a top of the line, Flight Simulator set up of your choice, right in front of you.
      Thank you for your reply,
      Very Best Regards,
      A.

      @chucklamont9778 Před 5 lety +5

      Nice reply guys. As a former commercial pilot of nearly 30 years my flying career started in 1968 in a Piper J-3 cub and ended as a Captain of a Boeing 767 but keep in mind, it's not all glory, many drawbacks the likes of which, not being married or being home for any length of time, long long hours tired all the time and always on the go from one place to the next and good friendships are limited, but I achieved my goals I can't complain to much about that let alone world travel and things seen had I not been flying. It was for the most part a great life, I do miss it but only occasionally. Never really too old to learn to fly, if you want it bad enough go for a solo, or private license and see what your missing at least look into it I think you guys will be glad you did because you don't have to fly the big boys to have some REALLY good fun and perhaps achieve some of your own goals, go for it, you'll be glad you did....!

      @Darren Murphy
      I know what you mean Darren, when I received my private certificate right around 1970, total cost was around $1500.00 U.S. considered alot of money then, totally outrageous now-a-days, but if you catch on quick you can solo for less then the cost of a private ticket less then 1500 U.S. present day. Average time to solo 6-8hours wet with instructor single engine currently is approximately $125.00 hr. here in the U.S. after solo 70-90 bucks and hour and cheaper if you shop around, even cheaper if you can afford to by a plane maybe with partners, very cost effective...
