Why push and pull when you can twist? - Smokin' Targets with Ben Husthwaite

- Top clay shot Ben Husthwaite does the hokey-cokey to explain how to shoot clay pigeons better. He says shooters (right-handed) are too keen to use their left hand to push and pull the gun barrels on to the target - and that's a bad habit.

Ban, have not seen such a clear and comprehensive explanation. THANK YOU!!!
“James knows where a gym is… you’ve got the balance of a pig”
This is great instruction.
As a new clay shooter, excellent training video. Thanks for taking the time Sir!
My wife thinks I'm crazy twisting with & w/o gun in front of the mirror. lol
That's really easy to understand and followed that tuition in my lounge (empty gun obviously). You also keep a more consistent straight line following the line of the coving. Next time I'm at the range, I'll apply this!
I can't afford too many teaching sessions, so these videos help remarkably for me.
Thanks Ben
Great explanation for why I go offline on crossers. I will implement immediately. Thank you Ben.
Fantastic coaching, very easy to understand what can go wrong and how to put it right
Thank you Ben for sharing this, its easy to see why you are one of the best coaches in the world, wish i was a bit closer to Kibworth. Good luck with the Eye D Rail launch , cant wait to get one
Again a brilliant video. Keep up the stunning work. My shotgun teacher back in the 80' always said " you have to turn like a tank turret". Due to a frozen shoulder I'm not able to train in a proper way, but when the problem is solved I'll follow your advices. Greetings from Germany
Brilliant info for me between my first ever and second attempt at clay pigeon shooting, THANK YOU!
Great video, looking to start clay shooting soon and came across this series of smokin clay, absolutely outstanding. Might even need to take a trip to the UK from Ireland to see Ben l, for when I start
great stuff Ben. Fair play for sharing.
Great information! Cheers, Ben.
Love this series 🤙
Perfect, this can be applied to all disciplines, thank you very much
Great stuff and thanks for sharing.
Very helpful. Thanks for sharing
That helped me understand a lot more👍✌🏽
In a word. Excellent
Great video again Ben keep up the amazing work, is there any scenario where you would use your hands over waist? I can only think of high driven birds probably but I am a newcomer to the sport. Will definitely be trying this technique out this weekend.
Also no flip flops what happened? Lol
Excellent!
Ben Husthwaite and Chris Batha are tops.
The type-x line on your vest is holding up well:)
"Balance of a pig"
Wow, just... Wow.
Great vid n moves
Incredible...👍
Great video but I like the gun vest Ben love the Brown and Brown leather trim now who sells this one?
I thought that the explanation was brilliant. The movement comes from the lower extremities, which in turn moves the trunk and upper extremities as one smooth unit.
How do you adjust your as you say hand speed without using hands. Are you just turning the body faster to get faster hands?
What's your choice of shell Ben
Not sure if I'm too late but what ear pro are they using?
Hi Ben. At 10:25 you start talking about report pairs, and favoring your weak side. Would you not like to see a foot placement change for the second target? For report pairs only.
Bud MacKenzie depends on time
Great tips from Ben. Anyone know what make his ear defenders are?
Chrissy Whiskers Vario mate
Ben Husthwaite cheers Ben!
Benny explain 1)why the shooter need to rotate ?2) what happen when the shooter is no doing it? 3) what are the causes for not doing it!
Question: my shotkam video revealed my barrel is lifting through the kill point and I miss over the top on crossers. I don't think I'm lifting my head for the break and stance is consistent using core with twist at the waist. I need a week/fix. wish I upload the video. Thx Ben for listening...
This will be the reason
Great tips on moving the gun without losing the integrity of your sight picture.
Ben, do you have any tips on eyewear? I've found that on partly cloudy days the waxing and waning from bright sun to overcast makes it more difficult for my eyes to pick up the target.
Btw....nice shoes 👍
Ben wears Pilla - and we have a Pilla offer Fcha.nl/pilla if that helps. / Charlie
Can anyone explain to me what he mean by heel-toe foot positioning?
Kyle Hammer pick your kill point then draw a line and on that line place your back heel and from toe. Twist too be comfy
@@benhusthwaite9884 Thank you!
James misses leg day.
Great video.... lose the red pants!
What shotgun is he using?! Thanks
Ben is sponsored by Krieghoff, I think - or Perazzi. / Charlie
