"see if you can guess which one is my least favorite"
proceeds to absolute dump on the entirety of the technogod segment
Oh man that one is absolutely a comedy segment.
A hilariously satirical take on how technology can destroy your life. I got crazy Tim & Eric vibes the whole way through. The scattered applause at the end was the icing on the cake 😂🤣
In a movie filled with nothing but fever dream horror shorts it really makes itself known 😂
The technogod one was absolutely abysmal, to be fair.
It’s usually like that with most transhumanist ideals. It’s like… if you took the idea of god, and religion, and then attempted to rebirth it. It’s kind of a futile effort because not only is it kind of moot to replicate, the copy will always be a butchered hack of it.
I was about to recommend this movie to friends but I can't justify putting anyone else through those 10 mins even if the other skits were so good.
When watching that segement. I hated that character for screaming into a bad microphone for so long. I clapped when she died TOO!
A horror segment based on the 1985 Mexico City earthquake was a surprise. Research was clearly made for this, since ancient stuff being buried under Mexico City IS a real thing. There are various museum areas in the city that displays this. Similar case like the Paris catacombs.
Neat trivia
Thanks😙
Love that segment but I feel the obligation to clarify a critical point that bother me the whole time. Mictlán is the name of the Mexica underworld, not the name of the lord of the death. And the Mictlán was governed by two deities, Mictlantecutli and Mictlancihuatl. Their name's literally translates to "The Lord and Lady of the Mictlán" respectively.
Another fun fact that was wasted, there's an specific deity who is responsible for the earthquakes for the Mexica. That is Tepeyolot, "The heart of the mountain", who is a Giant Black Jaguar whose roar can be heard when the earth quakes.
i still dont get how the rescuer woman was already a worshipper?
I believe the director is Mexican
I just realized the little kid squirting the water on the girl was what made her immortal, I entirely missed that when I watched it, lmao.
oh shit wait you're right
Fun Fact about DreamKill
It takes place in the same universe as Black Phone. And it wasnt his sister who has the same psychic ability as Gunther. Its his cousin Gwen, the girl from Black Phone
Actually Gwen inherited the ability from her mother.
@@hannahmabbott7370
I haven’t seen black phone in awhile but just wanted to point out the confirmed connection
@@thedarknight307 That's insane! I liked that movie a lot :)
Thats really interesting, black phone is awesome.
The kids at the lake is my favorite segment of the entire vhs series. I've spent way too much time imagining what would happen in real life if an immortal person was serving time and like 100 years later the prison is so confused. Or instead of a life sentence Ruth is given like 80 years per person she killed so in a few hundred years the prison just has to let her go. And then Ruth tracks down the original people from the lake she tried to kill and it starts this centuries long back and forth revenge war.
ngl, that sounds like a great 2 season series.
lake evig.
EVIG meaning ETERNAL
got damn near her whole face blown off that was so grotesque man i almost threw up behind that and I love the VHS movies but they are sick and I mean sick but I love it but I really shouldn't love it though 😂 damn
It's not a Lazarus Pit. It's a Lazarus Lake!
Castle rock season 1 uses that idea as their starting point
It's nice that's a goth character survived a horror flick and became a hero, kudos.
I remember watching all the movies in like 2 nights, they weren’t at all what I was expecting going in but I was hooked by the weird mysterious found footage style.
Yeah I watched all in one day, back to back, V/H/S is now by far my favourite franchise, it used to be Saw, which Saw X was amazing, but V/H/S is super creative and there's something for everyone in there. V/H/S/85 is definitely my favourite in the franchise, cannot wait to see what they cook up in this year's sci-fi themed V/H/S film!
“Did you know technology baaad?” Had me cackling 😂
7:44 Ah yes, It was great to see the ancient Mayan painting of our lord and savior Spooderman.
Same as mayan batman
So glad I wasn't the only one who thought that looked like Spidey XD
would be aztec since it's mexico city lol
This channel is the main reason why I got into the horror genre. Keep up the awesome work!! And VHS is one of the best series.
Imagine getting into horror genre just because youtuber recommended to you lol talk about being shallow and have no personality and most importantly you obviously little kid 🤡🤡
Damn, this is the first time i've ever been this early for a Foundflix video!
Me either! This is confusing
Me too!
Me as well!
What was it like? Exciting? Did you post before watching?
One day maybe I'll feel what it's like...
Whoa see what you mean
Dreamkill was seriously one of the best segments, not just in this VHS, but in all of them.
The way it’s shot from the killer’s POV, the grainy vhs aesthetic, the sick synth score, and especially the kills make it one of my favorites of all the VHS movies.
This!!!
I enjoyed the connection to The Black Phone as well. I thought that was a nice tie in.
honestly the psychic element ruined the entire thing for me if it just stayed as found footage it would be so much better

Wasn’t there at least one cringy scene in every V/H/S movie?
Yes but if anything it makes the really good ones shine even more 😂
Well viral was mostly cringe
Cringey in both ways. Sometimes just bad acting but also great kills
7:17 that's a harious addition and gave the scene some humanity. I feel like a fart would be comedic relief in such a high stress scenario irl
I'm hoping next week is "Late Night With the Devil"! It was awesome!
Where can i watch it?
@@D-DUB_GAMING-PLUSon shudder
@@immrlonelyihavenobody4176 Thanks friend
Yesss I agree! I saw a few times in theaters
This is by far the best VHS since the first one. I loved that two of the three shorts where directly connected to each other.
Man, when different stories in an anthology connect, it just hits so right.
Mictlan is Mictlantecuhtli the weird thing about him and his wife is although they are Aztec gods of the dead, the Aztecs believed there was no true death. You live on after death. And either you will end up in a number of hell-like places or heaven-like places. Though he and his wife mainly were storied to rule the Aztec underworld. So people would basically be like the ppl in the movie, in the way of them dying and waking up the way they died. If they died of a broken neck, they'd wake up with a broken neck. Heart cut out, they'd wake up with their heart cut out. Died beheaded, wake up beheaded. I thought it was kinda interesting how much the stories kept a theme that somewhat identified with the Aztec's god of death. Ppl being killed as a sacrifice to him. And even with the TCKNOGOD entry, the woman knew of it but couldn't see it until she was in its world and she couldn't escape once she saw it. Much like Mictlantecuhtli and a few other gods. And it made me wonder if this was what the filmmakers were trying to do, or was it just a coincidence?
Hmmm, an interesting point made
Please, I'm begging, Late with the Devil! I've seen it three times, and I'm still confused!! Love your videos!
Lol. Which part confuses you?
Watch a 4th time, that’ll do the trick.
@@MMAFightMagazine just the entire ending. I took notes and im still confused. I tried to make sense? Of it. But all I saw was he killed his wife and I had no clue why that happened.
watching a movie 3 times & still confused is craaazy 😂
Its actually easy to understand everything that happened in that movie
A boy glued to a exercise video in the 80s. Nothing out of the ordinary there.
crazy i just finished your entire VHS series
Horror anthologies are the superior type of horror media! Especially compared to Western horror movies. Western horror movies are also cliche now. They aren't doing anything experimental pretty much. They're all pretty boring honestly. But with anthologies they can be a lot more creative and try out different horror ideas. So they end up being a lot scarier and better in general. But Hollywood just wants to play it safe. That's why we've gotten like 10 different demon or exorcism movies in the last 2 years LMAO in my opinion Asian horror movies are far superior to any Western horror media. They're just on another level.
@@WhitneyDahlin Absolutely agree, as much as I enjoyed the Nun 2 I was not enthused for so many more exorcism type movies, it just got so played out. Watching the same thing over and over wasn’t exciting. As you said Asian horror are amazing maybe underrated, movies like A tale of two sister and Ju on are imprinted in my mind. Moreover, I do wish we get some more found footage movies, those movies play on mystery in such a good way.
I remember the 1985 Mexico City earthquake killed 10,000 people.
Yes, I liked that they used a real life incident as a backdrop for this segment.
Man i always forget the chapters in these movies till you do a deep dive. That lake scene with the snipers had me so tense through the entire plot, more than any other VHS segment. This is a great summary but it doesn't do the pacing of that scene justice. It's not the goriest, its not the most supernatural, but the idea of getting taken out and having no idea where it's coming from was terrifying
and then reawakening with ur jaw completely disfigured
Chris. Just a thank you for all you do. At this point I've watched nearly every video you've made, sometimes just watching a whole series working at my keyboard, or, more likely, when falling asleep. Little bits of enjoyment you bring to your audience and we all appreciate it I'm sure. ;)
VHS 94, although divisively reviewed when it first came out, ended up being the cult classic standout of the series, but this one might be its successor. I got some WNUF vibes from this one.
oh yeah, the one with Raatma fucking rules
The connected one and dream one at the end are two of the best shorts of the whole vhs series imo
The earthquake shown in the second segment was an actual event that happened in september 19th 1985 in Mexico City.
I absolutely love that poster art. It hits all the right 80's horror and action vibes.
I’ve watched every new foundflix vid for years. I don’t even know how many years it is at this point. Thanks for your work man!
Was looking everywhere this morning for this video from you after finding out this movie existed. Love your vids on the other VHS series. My prayers were answered so swiftly 😭😂
1.Magic healing lake
2.Demon possessed news team
3.VR Demon god
4.Killer family
5.Dream killer
6.Monster boy
This V/H/S entry was really top tier ! They’ve finally got it right 👏🏾🙌🏾
Yes! I liked it as much as the first one.
Another great video about this series! Good job!
i love u man. ur like the only youtuber i really really watch, thank you for being consistent 🙏
I was waiting for you to do this one! Even though it’s 6 I enjoyed almost every segment. I hope we get more VHS movies🖤
What you didn't mention is that the last one with the psychic boy is part of the black phone universe. The sister the guy was talking about was the kids in the movie's mom, making the boy their cousin. The little girl was psychic too that's how she was able to save her brother. However it is inconsistent continuity wise because the guy they got to play the murderous cop also played Ethan Hawkes brother who he killed so idk how that works story wise lol.
I’ve only ever seen the first VHS, which I loved. I’m glad you do these recaps so I can see if I want to watch the movies myself.
Imagine getting a life sentence and being immortal at the same time. Now that's a real revenge right there.
I'm surprised you didn't mention that the Scott Derrickson segment was connected to the black phone. When he mentioned that his cousin had the same abilities that Gwen and her mother had
Great timing, just refound the channel and I am rewatching everything
This is probably my favorite since the first
85 is not as good as 94 and 99
This is down there with viral
Same here, a lot to like in this installment.
Love your content keep up the great work
I remember the Tabloid TV show Hard Copy.
i knew he was going to do this i kept checking everyday!!!! thank you!!!!
Woke up in the middle of the night to this treat!!
24:21 killed the immersion. Everyone knows the cameraman never dies
Wow they really crank these out fast. 99 was 2022, this was 2023 , and there suppose to be one this year too.
Not hard really. The segments can all be produced at the same time meaning it doesn’t take as long to make
Ohh a new one this year... I'm excited
I REALLY love ur videos. I searched ur whole channel but couldn't find explanation video of The Exorcist (1973). Its the classic horror movie and i really want u to make a video on it!
Finally, ive been waiting for this video for so long
I love the VHS series, so I love watching all of these film analyses.
I’m at the bar 5 drinks in 😅 got my headphones on I’m hooked lol
This is the earliest I have even been
The lake story was the best!!!
Yo Foundflix guy I've missed u bud God your vids are awesome
yay! another episode! thanks ff :)
85 was my favorite because of the magic water and the other segment connected to The Black Phone❤❤
10:45 Iphone? in 1985? IIRC even normal handphone were hardly adopted around that time
Just a clarifications "Mictlan" is the aztec version of hell but the deity that the crew encounter is in fact "Mictlantecuhtli" the lord of Mictlan they are two different things but it can be hard to differentiate sometime
Love you videos Bro!✌️
I know im probably the last one to realize this, but does anyone see the V/H/S means, Video Horror Stories 😅
I was today years old....
Same I was today years old too.
I would have never put that together. Good catch yo
video home system.
@@Wepawnet oh i know what vhs stands for...i grew up with them...blockbuster, Hollywood Video, and local ones as well...oh the good old days of going to the video store on a Friday to get the new release pay $5 and have to get back before 9pm, 2 days later or you were charged and extra $3-5 late fee...oh...the good old days 🫠
I love this series. Also From Beyond is my suggestion for a new one to cover.
22:49 That blur spot ended up working really well
So weird, I was just binge watching all of the foundflix vhs videos today and then this one comes out
Love your vids man.
Also recommendation:
You should do an ending explained on 'Haunting of Winchester House (2009)' if you're able.
It's an interesting movie.
I’m guessing the VR headset is similar to ours but you can actually interact physically with the stuff in the digital World like drinking the “digital coffee”
Love the VHS series I was hoping that the lake story was gonna tie into the first VHS
Not massively interested in this movie, but here's a like and a comment for the algorithm.
PLEASE do Immaculate and/or First Omen! Very keen to your take on those.
I LOVE "V/H/S" series
you dont even know what vhs stand for 😂
@@sjacqVO21what does it mean?
Its means video home system . Its a a system that came before cds
@@sjacqVO21why does it matter though?
“TKNOGOD” was bad on several levels, aside from the ham-fisted message it didn’t fit the 1985 theme at all. In the mid ‘80s things like home computers and cellphones were luxury items, the closest thing to “technology worship” on the public’s mind was concerns about video game addiction. And the whole VR thing was straight out of Lawnmower Man or that one episode of The X-Files, plus that style of solipsistic performance art reeks of ‘90s pretentiousness. I wouldn’t be surprised if this had been left on the cutting room floor from either 94 or 99 and got dropped in here to pad it out to full length.
I’ve commented this before but idc if I seen the movie and already watched a recap from another creator, I will always click on a Found Flix upload
Babe, wake up. Funny man movie buff released a banger.
What’s up from Korea. Always enjoy a new video.
Posted 1 hour ago as I comment, earliest I’ve ever been for one of your vids!! 🎉
Great channel love it!
Foundflix your explain video and vhs really got me into horror but could you explain late night with the devil 2024, shudder new big movie
This one was my personal favorite. Couple of skits could've been better but overall this one just feels more original as a whole.
I do believe we would like to see more inter-connecting stories with this franchise!
In addition - I think the teens getting revenge is a highlight for the entire franchise as a whole, for sure
Definitely the best v/h/s next to two. Can't wait to see what they bring in next. I want a theatrical release.
This was one of the best installments of VHS.
Number one I got here early and number we got two videos in a week you guys are knocking them out
The single reason I’m not here earlier is because my phone died right when I first clicked on this video.😂
Damn, 2 uploads only a week apart!
I think this is technically the seventh entry if you also count the miniseries.
Btw don't sleep on the miniseries, those shorts are not bad at all.
Thanks! Didn't know there was a VHS mini series
@@VertigoIncline-tv2rd few do, it was released on, like, snapchat or something? I believe the old snaps were taken down, but it pops up here on youtube in full now and again. Whole thing of four shorts only runs about 16 or so minutes, very quick watch.
Woohoo!! Helluva treat to end the birthday!
Happy birthday!
Definitely my favorite V/H/S entry Surprised the hell out of me
Just finished your last vhs vid, crazy
@12:26 damnnnnnnnn ... VHS had become my favorite franchise thus far... i saw aml of them except this one..
Yeah, I just watched VHS 94. It's not too bad.
Can you do a video on Ghost Watch from 1992?
Man I'm going to tell you something I've seen every VHS episode there is and I'll tell you this they are gruesome bloody and absolutely horrifying but that's what I like a 10 out of 10 for all of them 👍💯💯💯
Ohh foundflix uploaded. . . Ooohhhh new V/H/S. . . . . . What a lovely treat this Sunday night 😂
You should cover Late Night With The Devil!!!
Such a coincidence that this pops up the hour I finish all the previous rundowns
Edit: it must be the VHS curse
Can you do late night with the devil please bro I think you will like it it's a little bit like the cleansing hour mixed with network
what shelf do you use for your blu-rays and dvd‘s? mine needs replacing due to growing inventory 🤔
The Mexico city 85 earthquake one made me upset. My parents survived (they were out of the country at rhe time) and my family, but I lived through the almost kind of comedic repeat of the earthquake a few years ago. We had a drill (we always do on the anniversary) so we were totally surprises to have to actually get out of campus minutes later. Literally incredible how it repeated the SAME day almost the same time as the one in the 80s.
Anyways that one was horrifying already as a disaster video; adding Mexica gods? Dang
This was a great movie! Hoping to see a new one
A day to remember? Talk about Mr. Highway thinking about the end lol
Hey Bro! How come you've never done the Haunting in Connecticut? I most definitely would have thought that you have done that movie already🤔 Peace &Love!
Yea ikr
I wanna see that one too!
That’s a good movie he would most definitely benefit from doing that review💯
Thank You for mentioning that @KadafiReed970 Ikr?
