- How do you make a real magic wand? This EASY Crystal Wand tutorial will show you how to DIY your own wand for witch costumes, fairytale cosplays and perhaps for real Magic Crafting! ♥ Many believe that crystals have magical properties along with healing qualities. Regardless as to whether or not you consider crystals to be truly magical, you surely know that they are absolutely GORGEOUS! ♥ This simple wand is ideal for those pretending to be witches, wizards and magick workers along with those who actually are... at least I think it would be ideal? I'm not a witch myself, but I do know many and think they would approve. :)
The tutorial here uses 100% natural materials from nature. And while the tutorial does call for "Real Leather," you could probably find a Vegan Leather substitute that would work as well.
NOTE: Quartz Crystals are my preferred crystals for use in the creation of my wands. The "Phantom Quartz" is my personal favorite, for obvious reasons! ♥ However, do not feel limited to using Quartz Crystals only. Choose a crystal that looks and feels right to you. You can research the meaning and special traits/ magical properties of different crystals too, if you'd like. I will link you to a place to buy a few varieties of crystals online in this description, so feel free to purchase those, or shop your local witchy store if you have one. As a energy/crystal healing/ext. studier, I feel obliged to point out. If your making an actual Crystal Healing Wand please use Coper Wire. Coper Wire conducts the energy best. It can have a Gold or Silver coating on it, just make sure it is real Gold or Silver, but it is essential that you have Coper Wire binding the Crystal to the Wand. Just a suggestion, but also get Hematite beads. There used for Grounding you in your Center and help you focus on the magic your trying to create.

I made a wand in 2012 with a branch from the peach tree in my backyard, a piece of lilac lepidolite and leather lacing. I carved a double helix spiral along the shaft of the wand and using a wood burner I carved the words ‘heal thyself’ in Anglo Saxon runes. I was able to fit the words three times up the spiral. Afterwards I waxed it with peach scented candle wax and polished it with extra virgin olive oil. I keep it wrapped in a piece of pink satin tied with pink satin cording and polish it olive oil about once a year.

The Magic Crafter yes you can. I’ve been working on some jewelry with wiring around the gem. But the tricky parking is getting the wire to go through the anchor (or the chain itself) to go through the hole 😆

Hi, I've really been enjoying your craft videos lately!
I've made something similar to this using wool yarn to secure the crystal. You have to either glue the crystal in place prior to wrapping or lay it alongside the stick and bind it in place there, but it's quite attractive(particularly if your stick is less arrow-straight) and requires no leather or wire, so it's a good option for people who want a similar natural effect but want to avoid products like leather.
I don't mind leather, personally, I just didn't think to try it when I made my wand.
You could also use hemp cord to bind the crystal to the wand tip. I would use the kind intended for macrame bracelets and necklaces. I would also recommend soaking the hemp cord in water prior to wrapping the stone so that as it dries it becomes tighter and holds the crystal more securely.

Yeay I've made my Witches Wand. Might decorate handle more when I can get more materials but look gorgeous as it is! I saw this video which is fantastic!! I've been meaning to make my wand for ages. I tried glue but didn't work, and like lady said I didn't need glue. I used a pointy clear quartz crystal. I wrapped poly ribbon & floristry wire round crystal and stick to the secure it (these materials were from previous floristry course). The stick I got from park, I trimmed both ends of the stick like I did slightly with the quartz crystal so the ends were flat when join together and looked neat. Then I used my thick purple ribbon from when I used to do Ribbon Reading and wrapped it round covering the poly ribbon and wire, so it looked pretty. Then secured the end with a bit of floristry wire. Used another piece of purple ribbon from my ribbon reading bag but this was a thin strip to secure it more. I then wrapped a amethyst crystal chip bracelet round to look pretty and add another energy to my wand. 💜
The only magical powers crystals bring me is the magic of draining my bank account..

Also, as a (beginner) practicer of the craft, a wand is only as magical as the wielder wants it to be. And technically a different wielder picking it up can change its effectiveness.
From what I've learned so far, magick is literally all about belief and intention.
As long as you believe in what you're doing to work, it will.(obviously theres a bunch of fiction and tall tails from the centuries to spook people, you cant just move things with your mind, even if you believe you can lol, that would be too easy) The crystals, wands, herbs only focus and amplify your intention(spell/ritual/ceremony).
And also, from what I've noticed, almost everyone casts a spell in some form, or way. Even religious people that vow and swear against magick, every prayer for a blessing, every conversation with their God or God's, is magick.
We all have it in our own way, I'm a weird form of it. I'm very scientifically inclined, but I've gone so far into physics and quantum physics, the bare bone study of consciousness. That I'm back to magick😂

I have rose wood collected at landscaping jobs and wood collected out in the wilderness that has been stripped of its bark by beavers and left. I have many different crystals to use as per request of clients using wire and deer hide to adhere crystals

Personally, I am not a practitioner of witchcraft, although I do enjoy learning about it! I know of many witches who do make purely wooden wands. You most certainly do not need a crystal to make one! 💜
Ok. If I understand correctly the wand is just a tool to amplify your power or to direct it. A piece of wood will work, but things that conduct energy, copper/gold will make it more effective, and stones will amplify in a specific direction i.e. healing, protection ect. But it is your power, your energy.
This is like mad late-- but it's known that sigils can also be a really good thing for your wand!! Just carve in a sigil you made (make sure to actually activate the sigil first) them carve it I to the wand!! But I'm still a baby witch so don't completely go off of this, try searching more into it :)

I have just noticed a long branch of fir wood was laying in my garden it's very long and thick (like my thigh's length lmao), I sanded it so I won't end up with hands full of splinters, I'm just still hesitating on the crystal I should use...

I plan on making my first trip into an occult shop to choose a money drawing crystal, because I am fascinated with magic. I have never tried magic before, but I'm curious about learning to do it. It depends on your beliefs. Some practitioners of Wicca use wands to channel/direct their energy... at least that's what I gather from my research! But for others, this is simply a pretty prop or art project. 💜
you got my intrest up when you mentioned no glue. i never understood way people get a nice bit of wood and a good crystal , then put glue between them . then you went and used an animal product, let alone an animal product that died under distress. its a nice wand , but i just wanted to exsplain that i wouldnt use leather on a wand. next time try square silver wire for that added look.

I know e6000 glue is super deadly to breath in, so could I use something maybe less dangerous like super glue? I'm not good and wrapping so I have to depend on the glue 😬

Well I think a stone or Crystal would make it more stronger this is the first time me making a magic wand I usually just do regular Magic but I always was curious about the magic wand spells so I'm trying my best I am a natural born witch it's in my bloodline on my Irish side and I would love for you to help me so I can make a decent want I have some ideas but I am still puzzled of what I should do to make it look so beautiful and realistic

I did not get my wood out of the outside I actually got it from a store and I'm shaving it down to try to create my own wand but I wanted to also have very strong abilities I'm basically what you would call a nature which I believe in the four elements if you can help me I would really appreciate it blessed be
If this just crafty then fine; I used copper wire for mine. I made it within a circle as part of my craft work, this consecrates it as well. Try picking your birth stone - you can find this by checking online. Think of the process as you do it and I was listening to music and humming along. Whilst in the circle I imbue the wand with love, care and strength - as it's use is positive and the work it will do is for healing. The wand is a tool and it is your personal tool so decorate it and build as you like the use of glue or glitter wont detract from it's use the power is from you Not the wand. BB

You could use the stone marble in a jagged shape, I'd imagine! However, I don't think a round marble-shaped crystal would stay secured with this method. You are welcome to try it though! :)

Feel free to substitute what you would like for the leather! Artificial leather is made with plastic, so it isn't great for the environment either, sadly. But, perhaps you could find a more eco friendly solution at your local craft store or out in nature! :)

I personally do not, and not everyone does. For me, the wand is nothing more than a prop. It is a prop for many others too, I imagine. However, some do believe in the powers of crystal and magick (which I wanted to acknowledge), so they can feel free to go about the creation process as they desire. Simply, this is a general tutorial made to help the viewer create a wand that serves whatever purpose they wish for it to serve. Hope that makes sense!

@@unit0033 From what I gather, most don't believe in the kind of magic you see on TV- more or less, I believe this kind of "magic" they believe in is the power of setting intentions. I'm not a practitioner of Witchcraft though, so I can't speak on it with full confidence.
That said, people commonly believe in all sorts of things that are mystical and considered scientifically impossible or unlikely. For example, many religions have stories that don't line up with science or stories from other religions (creation stories, for example), but the religion itself may be beneficial to individual followers for various reasons regardless of if it makes sense to others or not. I think those who practice magic probably benefit from it in different ways even if we don't necessarily understand.
