      Magical Curiosities I love these. I’m going to make 1. I’m going to start thinking of a concept & gather crystals to use. I really want u to try ‘dust crystals’ they use them on nails

    Try spraying them with Clear Sealer, after you are done. It will help keep the paint in tact, & also keep the glitter from chipping off.

    From one crafter to another-Here's a glue stick trick: Use your hot glue gun and dab a tiny dot on glue stick end and place next glue stick in gun to secure to the glue stick already in the gun, this helps prevent that glue stick from falling off/out. Cheers ;)

    So happy I found you!! I have some crystals with bead holes that I didn’t want to use in any of the bracelets I’ve made so now I know what to do with them. Amazon has strings of similar Angel Aura quartz in various colors, and the string you receive has a lot and they vary in size. I believe they are only $12-$14. I recently found that color shift paint at Walmart for 99 cents, I love it.

      @magicalcuriosities7062  Před 4 lety

      thank you! i'm so glad you appreciate the details. I can be a little wordy for some ppl sometimes. haha. I'm currently on a quest to figure out the very best primer and sealer. But so far I am really loving Mr Super Clear (matte) as a sealer. it's pricier though and only online. I haven't encountered any issues with matte spray paints meant for plastics like Krylon. Just do think coats and let dry for a long time before coating again. one heavy coat just mucks things up. I have also used nail polish, but it doesn't go on very easily or quickly. and i dont know the long term effects. I always use a matt primer regardless of using the black glue too. just as a primer to keep the gold on well. i do think spray paints are better if used correctly, They actually kind of melt the plastic a tiny bit making it litterally bond with it. but not all act the same and theres little info out there about hot glue painting. they also take longer to dry and obviously can't be dry brushed like acrylic.

    Hey! I was wondering about all the things you use to make the wands or any tips to make them! I've been looking for a new project other than resin and it will be greatly appreciated

    Love the wands. Living in a southern state I wonder, though, how they would survive (or not)in a hot car in summer?

      Is this wand a black magic

    • @magicalcuriosities7062
      @magicalcuriosities7062  Před 3 lety

      I wouldn't leave it in a hot car, but ive switched to only using very high temp black hot glue, the kind for automotive dent repair. It would likely hold up fine in a hot car, but still wouldn't risk it if you spent a lot if time or money on it.

    Where did you get the beautiful amethyst raw stones you showed in the video...the cubed ones. they are gorgeous.

      Almost all the stones in the video are from hobby lobby. Some from Joanne’s fabric store. Etsy has great variety for beaded crystals though.

      +severinamarsh I replied but it disappeard 🧐. They are almost all from hobby lobby. I may have gotten a few from Joanne’s fabric so can’t say for sure which the purple one is from but my bet is on hobby lobby.

    How much would I be able to charge if I sold them on line or at a fair? How much does it cost to make?

    • @magicalcuriosities7062
      @magicalcuriosities7062  Před 4 lety +1

      +Bob Catz pretty inexpensive to make but carries by the bead you choose. Mine sell from $10 for no bead to up to $45 for beaded natural stone or crystal clusters. Check Etsy for competition online. I don’t know what they go for online.

    Why do you leave the end of the dowel sticking out? Why don't you glue all the way down? Thanks for this video. Your wands look cool.

    Hi ..I been watching your videos all day lol I've been trying to find a video on how you got the bigger Crystal's like the amethyst ones ..how do you get those to stay on ? Or did you have a hole in those too ...I've been trying to find some bigger Crystal's with holes as well but no luck so far ... TIA

    • @magicalcuriosities7062
      @magicalcuriosities7062  Před 3 lety

      Oh, these amethyst chunks are from a bead strand. BUT if you bring tge glue up over the top enough that there's a physical hold, you don't need a hole. Think of a ring...there's either prongs, or a round bezel folded slightly iver to keep in the stone. Do the same with the hot glue.

    I'm looking for less art-and-crafts stuff, but more traditional stuff. Quartz looks legit, is there more you can show me?
