SAT :-
60 - 90 seconds per question.
Content and Weight of Math Section : - In SAT, the Math Section is worth half of your total score. SAT Questions are quite unlike anything you've seen before in your math classes, in fact they give you a math formula sheet for reference at the beginning of the math section whereas the ACT does not. The absence of a dedicated science section doesn't matter so much because the ACT Science section is like a "Reading Part - II" or like a "Reading with Graphs" section. And the SAT reading section actually includes a fair number of Science Passages with graph analysis. However you are not given as much graph analysis as the ACT.
The way the reading section is structured and how questions are asked : - The SAT reading section seems much easier at first glance, and you have almost 90 seconds to answer each question, plus they are asked in a chronological order and there are a lot of Evidence based questions, so it seems like you can just look into the passage and find the answer right there, however the SAT has extremely tricky and unexpected tricks to have you pick the wrong answer, and it takes lots and lots of practice to figure out what these tricks are, and which ones you are susceptible to.
If you are a deep concentrator willing to spend long hours analyzing and figuring out things from various perspectives, willing to figure out the SAT's tricks, then you would like to stick to the SAT.
ACT :-
36 - 60 seconds per question.
Content and Weight of Math Section : - In ACT, it's only worth 1/4th. The ACT however, tests a lot more advanced math topics than the SAT does, like Logarithms, Matrices, and Trigonometry, none of which appear on the SAT, but these questions are much more straightforward and you can just plug and chuck after memorizing a formula. The ACT has a dedicated science section whereas the SAT does not. However, you are not asked explicitly about the contents of Chemistry, Biology or Physics. Instead you are tasked with reading passages and answering questions about what you've read.
The way the reading section is structured and how questions are asked : - The ACT Questions are not chronological and rather randomized. The ACT does give you less time to answer each question, but like the math section, they are very straightforward and don't need as much analysis or critical thinking.
The ACT is more suitable for you if you are an extremely fast reader who can retain information long term.
You might want to take a practice test of both without any prior preparation, it might take hours or destroy a whole weekend, but it is absolutely worth it.
Omg!! Thank you so much. I am glad to see your comment dude. I am so grateful to you bro. I am currently in class 11th in India and I want to pursue my higher education in USA.

Hey Greg if there is a way to contact you on a pretty personal question I’ve been stressing about I could use your help. I’ve been watching your videos for quite a long time and haven’t found the answer.
I've been studying so hard for the ACT for months and have improved my score by several points but I can never get into the high 20's or 30's and it's always because I run out of time!! Do you suggest that I put all that hard studying behind me from the ACT and see if I can do better on the SAT? Are the tests similar enough that the content that I studied for the ACT will transfer over to the SAT? Perhaps I should take a practice test for the SAT to see what score I get and move on from there
I know you don’t attend one, but can you make a video about Art School? Maybe like the differences or things you might need to know for it? Why you should or shouldn’t go to an Art School?

This question may be a bit off-topic from the video, but should I take the essay/writing portion of the act/sat as well?

I’ve been practicing for the sat for a while now I idk if I’ve been doing it wrong the whole time. For the amount of time I’ve been studying for the SAT I’m not doing as good as I want and it’s extremely demotivating. I think I might just try out the act.
I’m in the same situation now I’m not improving in the sat and not sure what else to do. Did the act help?
@@mythicallegendxoxo2715 damn this comment is a throw back. This was 3 years ago lol. I ended up doing better in the act although my grade was still low. I managed to get into one of my top schools which was penn state with a pretty low act. My high gpa and AP classes is pretty much what helped me get into most the schools I applied to. But my advice to you would to be take both. And PRACTICE I really didn’t really how important it was to practice. The grade u want might seem unattainable at times but it’s so much easier than you thing just keep practicing, u have to take the hard route and just four e your self to do what’s right and ignore the distractions. You will thank yourself later.

I'm gonna take the SAT because I'm not fast when it comes to test questions :)
I am an International student and in my city only offer the SAT, but I feel that I could have a better score in the ACT.
Same
Is it easier to switch from SAT to ACT or to switch from ACT to SAT
Good question! This will depend a lot on your particular strengths. If you are more suited to the ACT, for example, switching to the SAT will be hard. But then again, if you’re good at the ACT, why switch in the first place?
I took ACT last year and got 33. Just took SAT, got 1490, which is equivalent to what I got on ACT. Soooo. . . About the same.
However ACT to SAT is nice cus the time pressure is much more nice on SAT than ACT.
Btw, do you guys think that 2 incorrect questions on SAT Reading and Writing section can cost you 70 points on Reading and Writing section score? Cus that's what happened to me 😲

Greg Smith thank you so much
For a top college, 1500 or 1550. CS is a really competitive field. For other majors, you might need a 1400, but CS is highly competitive, international student or not.
I need the PDF
how can i get the email newsletter??
Here’s a question, how good do you have to be at a sport like track to get into a great college
You have to be quite good to be recruited, and you’ll be expected to run track in college as well.
Greg Smith so that would mean something like winning states and also if I ended up running At that college would that prohibit me from practice if a career in scientific field?
Samuel Roberts no it would no prohibit that at all. And to give insight as to how good you would need to be to run track in college for 100M you would need to be at or below 11.5
Compare your current times or distances to what the athletes from that college do. Usually you need to be one of the top athletes in your state to be recruited by top schools. Typically college athletes get a lot of support to balance class and practice (not just in DI schools either.) It is a big commitment, but it’s fun. I threw shot put for a DIII school and loved it. Got a DI offer, but there was too much pressure to be a perfect athlete, and I was already dealing with an injury.
Coach Hall well that’s good for me I’m already top in the state in almost all distance events for middle school.
OML time, should be 2 hours xD
Does ACT requires bio, asking this cause I’m CS student actually.
Can I take SAT/ACT after IGCSE??
And can I apply scholarship with IGCSE+ sat/act??
So the ACT sounds harder than the SAT
i got a 31 on the ACT last year as an 8th grader
Howwww any tips?
@@tiana1736 I did some practice tests but really all my improvement came in a strategy change for the English portion. I took it on a bit better (shortest answer is typically right in first section) and being more efficient in reading. For the math section, I have been doing extra math classes in the mornings/afternoons for the past few years, so that helped a lot.
