  • These commercials aired on Nick in January of 1991
    1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Fall Of The Foot Clan for Game Boy (Partial. I remember my friend Kyle in elementary school had this and would often bring it to school and play it during lunch and recess. It was probably the first handheld game that I ever really played besides briefly demoing Tetris or Super Mario Land at a store display)
    2. Quarth for Game Boy
    3. Promo for "Hey Dude"
    4. Nickelodeon Salutes Martin Luther King (With Johnny Depp, who was actually no longer on "21 Jump Street" at the time that this aired)
    5. Edwin Knowles China "Michael" Porcelain Doll (The music used here is "Perky Pinky" by David Snell and can be heard here: • Golden Book Video Soun... )
    6. Station ID
    7. "Lassie" Commercial Bumper
    8. Cheetos Paws (These were so good, like a perfect cross between the crunchy kind and the puffs)
    9. Twizzlers
    10. String Racer
    11. "Lassie" Commercial Bumper
    12. "Lassie" End Credits
    13. National Dairy Board Commercial Bumper
    14. Promo for "Looney Tunes"
    15. Milk
    16. Coming Up Next...
    17. Promo for "Hey Dude"
    18. The Book It! Program
    19. Nickelodeon Salutes Martin Luther King
    20. The Looney Tunes Library on VHS (I really love the cover art for this series. I remember seeing these tapes at the video rental place that we frequented back then. Also $9.95 was not a bad price for an hour long cartoon VHS tape back then, relatively speaking)
    21. Station ID
    22. Pizza Hut
    23. Kids Night At Pizza Hut
    24. Station ID
    25. "Flipper" Commercial Bumper
    26. Golden Grahams (With free "Locker Rocker" posters. The three forgotten musical acts featured here are the R&B group Perfect Gentlemen en.wikipedia.o..., Ana en.wikipedia.o... and Rick Wes • Rick Wes - North, Sout... . They were all produced by Maurice Starr en.wikipedia.o..., who was desperately trying to replicate the success he had with New Kids On The Block with little effect)
    27. Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu for NES
    28. "Flipper" Commercial Bumper

Oh, do I remember Book It. Going to Pizza Hut to celebrate, and getting a personal pan pizza for free for reading books was awesome when you were a kid, and especially since it was back when Pizza Hut was truly great.

Fall of the Foot Clan was the game I got with my Game Boy for Christmas. I remember not being impressed with it at first when my best friend Tim got it for Christmas of 89 the year it came out. But, during the summer, he let me borrow his along with Tetris and Gargoyle's Quest, and I became hooked. That Ninja Turtle game was the final push I needed to get one, as it had amazing graphics for its time.

Man, I remembered playing TMNT Fall Of The Foot Clan & beating it so many times back in the day (1980s). Awesome times. Pizza Hut not only had good food, but nice commercials during those times.

Nickelodeon Salutes Martin Luther King- Those kids who say the title look and sound less than enthusiastic about doing that.
Cheetos Paws- I bet when Chester Cheetah got hit by that tire swing, it was every bit as painful as it looks.
Milk- That kid's head changing into a balloon used to creep me out as a kid.

I remember the Book-It commercial. Anyone remember this preschool series that TLC aired during the early 1990s called The Magic Box? At the end of the show, you would see that commercial. I believe Book-It was one of the official sponsors for The Magic Box. I don’t remember hearing anything about Pizza Hut in that ad at the time.
I also remember those Looney Tunes video commercials. I love Bugs Bunny. 🐇
As for Martin Luther King, let’s keep his dream alive and remember that Black Lives Matter.

    "Oriental" Yikes Johnny
My elementary school participated in Book-It, yet I was never rewarded pizza coupons/vouchers. However, I did receive 3 medals that I still have to this day

The word "oriental" was not seen as even remotely offensive or inappropriate at the time. Many Asians are still not offended by the term.

There are a lot of racial slurs to be offended by, this really is not one of them. IMO it is an outdated term that seems to offend mostly white people. So please cut Johnny some slack.

What's wrong with oriental? It's people like you who are keeping racism alive by finding offense in everything.
      Stop it

      @zacktube100 Před 3 lety +1

I noticed that, too. But, only because standards change so that some people can remain offended even considering the context.
