  • These commercials aired on Comedy Central on June 2nd, 1995
    1. Promo for "Politically Incorrect"
    2. Nestea
    3. Heath Sensations
    4. McDonald's Batman Forever Gotham Glassware Collection (We had the Riddler Mug)
    5. Cascade (Nice mushroom cut)
    6. Mr. Rooter
    7. Cox Cable
    8. Promo for "Absolutely Fabulous"
    9. "Doritos Stand Up Stand Up" Commercial Bumpers
    10. Promo for "How To Be Absolutely Fabulous"
    11. Doritos Taco Supreme Chips
    12. Squirt
    13. Hunter Fans
    14. "Doritos Stand Up Stand Up" Commercial Bumper
    15. Coming Up Next...
    16. Ruby Red Squirt (5:25 So the guy loading cans off the truck just hands this rollerblader dude a can...for free?)
    17. Promo for "The MTV Movie Awards"
    18. Ming Dynasty
    19. Promo for "The Kids In The Hall"
    20. Promo for "Absolutely Fabulous"
    21. Nike
    22. "Sit-com Stand-up Marathon" Commercial Bumper (Brought to you by Pepsi)
    23. Pepsi (Featuring the movie "Casper" which was released to theaters a week before these aired)
    24. "Street Fighter" on VHS
    25. Benadryl
    26. Norelco Maverick Beard and Mustache Trimmer
    27. Phillips CD-i (Partial. To my great misfortune, this was cut off by the cable company to insert local ads. The entire commercial can be seen here: • Philips CD-i Commercia... )
    28. Sparkle Santa Barbara PSA (It was definitely not worth interrupting a CD-i commercial for this...curse you Cox cable!)
    29. McLean's Auto Body & Paint
    30. Comedy Central O.J. Simpson/Kato Kaelin Station ID (This is sort of a time capsule of what a circus the O.J. trial was and how it permeated almost every aspect of pop culture and society back then. In retrospect making a funny parody song about a double homicide may not have been in good taste)
    31. Coming Up Next...
    32. Promo for "AMC Saturday Classics"
    33. TV Spot for "Batman Forever" (I'm a bit ashamed to admit that I was kind of obsessed with this movie when it was released. I had a big one sheet poster of it in my room that I got from the Warner Bros. store, had most of the action figures/other merch and also watched it a ton when it came out on VHS later that year. My excuse is that I was a dumb eleven year old at the time and the marketing hooked me. In retrospect it is a bad movie that pales in comparison to the Burton films but is nowhere near as bad as the war atrocity known as "Batman & Robin")
    4. Promo for "Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist"
    35. Microsoft Encarta '95
    36. TV Spot for "Batman Forever" (The music used here is from Danny Elfman's score for the 1989 "Batman" and AFAIK is not used in "Batman Forever" at all, which was scored by Elliot Goldenthal)
    37. Promo for "Welcome Back Kotter" on Nick at Nite (It's sad that Gabe Kaplan, John Travolta and Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs are the only surviving members from the main cast)
    38. Crown Dodge

That Casper Pepsi commercial was one of my favorites back in the day.
Most of the jokes went over my head at the time, but I remember watching a lot of Kids in the Hall on Comedy Central. I think it was the main thing I tuned in for. "I'm crushing your head" will never leave my brain.
I never liked Tommy Lee Jones playing Two-Face as a discount version of Joker even when I was a kid, but I love Batman Forever. Still my favorite Batman movie nearly 30 years later.

I am currently going through your entire catalog I'm on playlist two of the '80s I just wanted to thank you for all this incredible content, I found a couple other channels that are fun but you have just immense amount of content and I really enjoy the comment section. Thank you so much for all this hard work!

7:42 - I remember Casper being quite heavily promoted around this time with this commercial and Pizza Hut doing tie ins that played consistently that summer. While the movie didn’t do as well as hoped, it still struck a chord with kids who did see it.

Good to know that Ming Dynasty is still around in Santa Barbara; I might check that place out when I get a chance to visit Santa Barbara someday.
I've had the Batman mug from the McDonald's Batman Forever Gotham Glassware Collection. Not sure if I still have it today though, but it was my go-to mug to drink at the time.

10:30 Oh boy... But I remember how the OJ trial was the only thing people wanted to talk about back then. It was everywhere and you couldn't get away from it. You're absolutely right about the whole trial being a circus.
13:43 Personally, my favorite "klassic" is Smooth move, Ex-Lax.

Cascade- I love the disgusted look on the kid’s face at 1:38 when he picks up the dirty plate while on the phone.
Promo For “The Kids In The Hall”- I remember finding this show on DVD and watched it a lot. Pretty decent Sketch Comedy series, I would say.

I remember those Batman Forever glasses. My friend and I went out to pick one up on our way to see the movie Congo. Being fond of the Congo novel at the time, the movie was a huge disappointment, but the glasses were awesome. I had the Riddler one. Wish I knew what happened to it.

Ah yes, the mushroom cut (but don't think we called it that in my country). My childhood crush was chubby in a cute way and he had that mushroom haircut 🤭🤭🤭 all of the boy band members had that haircut, yes?
And before Wikpedia, we also had a CD of Microsoft Encarta '95 and '98 as well as an interactive Madeline educational CD game and a playable CD game version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? The only downside to using CD-ROMs is that they get stuck inside the "CD player" of the beige CPU and I have to manually restart the CPU

Pre South Park Comedy Central seems like an awesome channel to watch. I would've enjoyed Watching Dr. Katz. I didn't get Comedy Central in my area until the 2000s.
Got Encarta 95 for Christmas with my new computer that year.

I loved Dr Katz but only saw the first 2 seasons when it aired. I was 17 in 1995 & had never been to a therapist before so I probably didn't fully appreciate it. As an adult the show might be even better to watch.

7:12 Nike's ad using Ride's "Chrome Waves." Andy Bell must've made a decent chunk of change between this and VW using Hurricane #1's "Step Into My World" in one of the '98 New Beetle spots.

Third attempt at a comment on this video probably because I had a website linked.
Ming Dynasty closed on September 1, 2019. The owners retired. Google Maps has it marked as closed and various articles covered it, it was a real institution in Santa Barbara!
I miss Taco Supreme Doritos so much! In the late 90s my Monday night ritual was having them watching RAW on USA! Wrestling was better back then!

I honestly don't know why they weren't showing up. I saw at least one of them and edited my video description to remove my comment about the restaurant still being open, which was based on their website still being active.
FYI I have the comments set for approval on all of my new videos due to spam/bot/troll attacks I've had in the past but your account is marked as an "approved user". :)

TV changed drastically after this. I have no interest in providing commercials from after these changes in regulation. My channel, my choice.
