- These commercials aired on NBC on June 10th, 1990
1. "The Magical World Of Disney" Commercial Bumper (These aired during "Ernest Goes To Camp")
2. Suave
3. Charmin
4. SunRinse Downy Dryer Sheets
5. Kentucky Fried Chicken
6. Promo for "Those She Left Behind"
7. Promo for "Today"
8. "The Magical World Of Disney" Commercial Bumper
9. McDonald's Dick Tracy Crimestopper Game ("Dick Tracy" was released later that week and tried very hard to be the big movie that summer like Tim Burton's "Batman" had been in 1989. While it performed well at the box office, it was not a Batman sized hit and Disney spent over $100 million on advertising, rendering any success it had in theaters moot)
10. New System Surf Detergent
11. Kraft House Italian Dressing
12. Miracle Whip
13. Speed Stick
14. "The Magical World Of Disney" Commercial Bumper
15. Promo for "The Cosby Show", "A Different World", "Cheers" and "Seinfeld" (This was the first season of "Seinfeld" which was only four episodes and aired as a summer replacement series after the pilot "The Seinfeld Chronicles" had aired as a special in the summer of 1989. A four episode season is still the smallest sitcom order in TV history)
16. McDonald's (With Beach Toy Happy Meal Toys)
17. Waldbaums Foodmart
18. WVIT 30 News Bumper
19. Wendy's Dave's Deluxe
20. Maybelline Turning Point Eyeliner
21. Colgate Junior
22. Keebler Rainbow Chips Deluxe (Used to eat these all the time, but Keebler Magic Middles were by far my favorite)
23. Suave
24. Promo for "Unsolved Mysteries", "Singer & Sons", "Dear John" and "Quantum Leap" (That episode of "Quantum Leap" is one of my favorites)
25. Partnership For A Drug-Free America PSA
26. Lady Speed Stick
27. Planters Peanuts (With the voice of Don Pardo)
28. Quiz Kids Challenge Auditions
29. Pillsbury Microwave Brownies
30. Cheerios
31. "The Magical World Of Disney" Commercial Bumper
32. Promo for "Where's Rodney?" (This was an unsold pilot for a TV show starring Rodney Dangerfield. A "summer hit" indeed. I posted the ads from this back in Vol. 147: • 90's Commercials Vol. 147 )
33. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Light 'n Lively Yogurt (God...the voices here, the way the turtles are drawn and just the overall art style/aesthetic as a kid raised on TMNT just hurts my soul. I think even back then I saw things like this as "Bootleg TMNT"...especially after the dark and gritty live action movie came out)
34. Finnigan's Hammerite Paint
35. WVIT Station ID
36. Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Cereal
37. Tide
38. McDonald's Beach Toy Happy Meal Toys
39. Busch Gardens Williamsburg
40. "The Magical World Of Disney" Commercial Bumper
41. Promo for "Gremlins" ("Gremlins 2: The New Batch" was released to theaters five days after this on 6/15/90)
42. Reynolds Sure-Seal Storage Bags (Keep this lady away from knives)
43. Schweppes Raspberry Ginger Ale (With John Cleese)
44. WVIT 30 News Bumper
45. "The Magical World Of Disney" Commercial Bumper - Zábava
I actually remember watching that showing of Gremlins in anticipation of the sequel. I actually saw the sequel twice that summer.
McDonald’s supposedly spent a huge amount on the Dick Tracy game, which wound up not being as successful as hoped. Due to this, they didn’t renew their contract with Disney, allowing Burger King to swoop in and profit off some huge Disney films.
Which is where I got my Goof Troop kids meal toys.
@7:45, My favorite Keebler cookies were the soft batch. We knew when we saw that red package in one of the double-packed paper bags after our parents got back from grocery shopping at the McClellan AFB commissary that it wouldn't last the day between all of us.
A couple of years ago they just disappeared, can't find them anywhere.
I've done Google searches, can't find the reason why.
Charmin- Inspired by this commercial, I used to stop and hug a pack of Charmin toilet paper whenever I saw it in the stores. Sometimes I get the strangest looks from people while doing that.
Kentucky Fried Chicken- Everything about this commercial is very relaxing to me, from the music to the calm atmosphere of the class being taught.
38. McDonald’s Beach Toy Happy Meal Toys- The way the man jokes around with his two kids in this commercial reminds me of how my Dad likes to joke around with simple things like that.
This is one of the only things I can watch and really relive my childhood like I was actually there again. I definitely thought I would be more successful back then. *sigh*
I had so many of those McDonalds beach toys!
BY MENNEN!
0:37 - Mr. Whipple would not approve of this message.
4 days before I graduated from high school.
11:48 WOW you were not kidding, extremely 'We have TMNT at home' energy, haha.
I grew up watching Channel 30.
Bring back the Dave Deluxe.
I always thought that the Magical World of Disney aired on ABC and not NBC, unless it changed stations over the years.
Walt Disney's Disneyland (1954-1958; ABC)
Walt Disney Presents (1958-1961; ABC)
Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color (1961-1969; NBC)
The Wonderful World of Disney (first era; 1969-1979; NBC)
Disney's Wonderful World (1979-1981; NBC)
Walt Disney (1981-1983; CBS)
The Disney Sunday Movie (1986-1988; ABC;)
The Magical World of Disney (1988-1991; NBC)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney_anthology_television_series
Disney anthology shows have aired on all three networks.
@80sCommercialVault I don't think I ever realized that there were different versions of the show over the years.
I remember watching "Where's Rodney" when that was on but then I remember the TMNT yogurt ad, and even before seeing your comment I was expecting something about "second rate animation and voices" and i wasn't disappointed! It's like they didn't even care.
The crazy thing is that now I think I'm hearing Rob Paulson at 12:08 but he's not voicing Raphael or anything close to the voice he did on TMNT.
@@80sCommercialVaultI thought for a moment that as well but TMNTpedia has the voices as Craig Brolley Donatello and Raphael, Jim Parks as Mike and Leo and Larry Moran as Splinter
CZcams killed the comments in vol 491.
I made a community post about it. I already tried appealing it.
0:07 - We call these first world problems, lady.
11:45 not a bad soundtrack for some yogurt.
I don't think I've seen that episode of Quantum Leap. I'll have to check it out. Anyone know what season/episode that is?
“Blind Faith” Season 2, Episode 5
