3 Day Solo Bikepacking Across the Oregon High Desert
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 28. 05. 2022
- The Central Oregon Backcountry Explorer is a route that traverses some of the finest country in Central Oregon and the Ochoco Mountains.
My goal with this route was to see if the skills I learned from backpacking would translate to a multiday 150 mile bikepacking trip......

Itâs an awesome route! My friend and I did it in August 2020. It was 104 degrees in Ashwood. Longest hardest day ever. The water crossings were minimal for us thankfully. We took our time and enjoyed a rest day in Mitchell at the hostel.
I canât imagine the route being that hot out of Ashwood⊠well done!!
It was a pure treat to the eyes of mine....
I appreciate you watching, thank you!
Beautiful and fascinating adventure. It must be hard to do all this by yourself.
Thanks for watching!! đ it can be⊠I think the worst part was sleeping alone at the end of day 3 lol. Creepy up there

Hello there! I love watching your videos greetings here from the Philippines
Hey there! Thank so much for watching, I really appreciate it :)
Greetings from Vladivostok. Great video and journey. I myself have been riding a bike for 5 years and I shoot clips alone. I am considering a single trip to the river along its edge for 250 km in one direction. Good luck and smooth road))
The solo videography is tough but rewarding, right?!
Great video, thanks for sharing with us.
Leaving a like to support your channel
Hey I appreciate that!! Thanks for watching!
Chad!!!! Love the video dude all of the ~content creation~ was well worth it. Thank you for waiting for us that second day!! Unfortunately Lindsayâs derailleur got merked by the mud and my bike was pretty messed up too so we had to cut it short there and got a ride back to Prineville. But weâre honored to have made it in the vid and so glad you finished the route dude!! Also get ready for two new loyal insta followers đ€
Julia!!! So glad to hear from you guys⊠legit was super concerned something bad happened! Thanks for filling me in.. glad you guys made it back safely!!
Whatâs your guys instas so I can throw a follow back??

thanks so much!!
I'm heading over to do this route soon, so this was helpful. Very nice job on the video. The end screen card was a bit distracting tho'.
haha fair...did you end up clicking it though?!
@@ChadLubinski no, ran out of time to watch. But I'll come back and watch more of your stuff. It's great.
@@RonSuchanek Thanks Ron!!!
I want to do this with Tristan! Would be awesome times!
you guys would love it dude! absolutely beautiful country
I had one memory card corrupt and second one fill up full on my fall trip, luckily closer to the end. CHKDSK saved the bad card.
Reallllllly?? So there's hope!?
@@ChadLubinski I'm not very techy but good ol' Google and YT tutorials helped me retrieve the data.
Hi Chad, where did you park your car in Prineville ?
their little visitor/bike center! It was clutch
Chad, these videos are great, could I maybe message you with questions I have about mountaineering and things??
Absolutely! Clubinski10@gmail.com
Was that a bear behind Badger Creek at 7:15?!
Haha! Totally does look like one but just another cow. I did see a bear the next day though actually...passed right in front of me!!!
Is there a breakdown of the trail? Im not finding much from the trails app I have.
Hey! Yes, right here... bikepacking.com/routes/central-oregon-backcountry-explorer/
Longer pov riding clips would be very much appreciated
Understood⊠had a ton but unfortunately my dumbass had the POV angled down too far đ
What bike did you use? Sorry if this was already asked
Hey! I used a Trek Roscoe 6 with 2.6â tires đđ»
@@ChadLubinski I cant beleive you rode those tires over 150 miles. What a beast! Thanks for the content.
@@bananasforbikes Lol!!! Ignorance is bliss I guess đ
how come u don't use fenders? Doesn't crap get flinged on your face and bike?
Didn't really know they were an option haha I'm relatively new to biking.
Oy be careful with that water hitting the bottom bracket it's not good for your bike
Can you describe your rig?
Trek Roscoe! Believe I had 2.5 inch tires
How did your gossamer gear tent get that wet? thatâs awful. Inexcusably awful. If the tent actually performs like that, it should be pulled from the market.
Maybe Iâm pitching it wrong but itâs always been like this
Romans 5: 2 - 5.
No, backpacking doesn't transfer to cycling, its called the rule of exercise specificity
Agreed. I mean backpacking parallels bikepacking.
