Sound effect artists are so underrated. Without them, movies would suck.
Foley artists *
And editors, they make the movie or tv series make sense. Without them, the movie would just be a jumble of scenes out of order.
So creative ❤️
Yeah, imagine watching Star Wars and you don't get an "PEW" sound, or the T-Rex roar in Jurassic park. That would be so awful to watch.
Yep
If these guys were music producers, their originality would be way ahead of the curve.
It’s interesting that stuff like this today you find it in what they call trash autistic video editing a online. When in reality they are pure creativity.
@@sokol5805 Definitely. I have a little brother on the spectrum of autism and I see and hear comments like you mentioned all the time, which is disheartening. But these guys are definitely creative. Crazy to see it visually how these effects were manufactured.
I never appreciated these sound effects. Now that I see how they make them it makes me happy to hear them.

Just throwing this out there, but do you realize how creative you would have to be to even think of this stuff?
In fact, people like him are considered artists
They’re geniuses
@@JuvenileWolf I believe you're confusing the word *"creative"* with *"unique"* if you didn't pick up on that. You don't have to produce ideas that are unique to be considered creative.
Considering how long humanity has roamed the Earth, it is practically impossible to produce unique content because most things have already been thought of and produced. However, people build upon what exists in all industries to bring innovation which ultimately makes them creative. And as for your question, I'm a musical artist and game developer, so I technically come up with new things every single day.
@@JuvenileWolf *Creative: relating to or involving the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work.*
That's the definition I just explained to you which you didn't seem to fully comprehend. As for emotions, we're literally just having a normal conversation here. There's no reason to become emotional in any way. I don't know what you think this is, but I don't bother with back and forth "arguments" if that's what you're looking for...
If you want to deny that definition by sticking to your initial misconception, then go right ahead. You would only make your comprehension capabilities seem inadequate to everyone here, but I figured I'd copy and pasted the definition for you anyway.
@@JuvenileWolf you wouldnt even think they are doing these stuff to make those sounds if it wasn't shown here, so yes they are creative for replicating sounds with those methods and who exactly is putting them in a "pedestal"?

I watched The Old Mill all the time as a kid in the nineties. I loved how Disney and other networks would play old cartoons on a regular basis.
Disney was a lot of fun back then. They used to play dozens of really old cartoons every day. I loved the Goofy cartoons where someone would narrate stuff and he'd mostly fail. Like, workouts, driver's education, etc. Disney is garbage today and shelves all that terrific content. I'm sure they long since cancelled George Plimpton and Mousterpiece Theater.

Thats what i love from old animations, they sounds classic and i love semi white-black animations. They give weird comforting vibes and its pure art. I dont say today's new animation is bad and honestly its greater but they doesn't have the classic vibes, too much digital sounds and half of the animation is made by robot/AI
Computer animation is still very hard tho
I can't even begin to imagine the amount of creativity required to make these sound effects. I mean, who would've thought of using a slowly deflating balloon to imitate the sound of a spring right?

I always love the way early movie sound effects are generated through mundane objects like the blaster sounds in Star Wars made by striking a high tension wire with a hammer, I think that's probably what made the "ka-peew!" that Han Solo's DL-44 makes.
Benjamin Fuller ikr
Do you know the origin of the light saber sound? This was where a microphone came close to another object, i think it was a monitor or something, and randomly recorded that buzzing sound, that was nothing more than a interference, that was later used for the light sabers.

Fun fact for those of us who got this recommended in 2020: that sheet of metal at the end is where the english phrase “stealing my thunder” came from. Some english dramatist invented the use of banging a sheet of metal to create thunder sounds. He used it in a play that got pulled from the theater shortly after its debut. He was butthurt about the mixed reception and he later attended a performance of macbeth in the same theater...and he heard his thunder sheet being used in the play.
